Young readers share the joy of a group of animals seeking shelter from an approaching storm in a teeny tiny house, where they find room for all on the feather bed until a skunk arrives on the scene. Reprint.
This book shares a cozy story about family, togetherness, and making space for everyone. I’d give it 3 stars, it’s charming but a bit predictable, though still suitable for classroom discussions about family and sharing.
It is a rainy day and animals keep coming to the fat woman and fat mans house to come inside. The fat woman lets all of the animals inside and on the bed. Until she brings a skunk in and everyone, including the fat man, jump up and run outside. They are all stuck in the rain, while the fat woman and skunk and warm and dry in the bed.
This book feeds my ambition for children's books. : ) My all time favorite picture book. It's funny, well written, plenty of visual interest, and such a fun story! My neice and I fight over who gets to take it home because she likes to borrow it. (She is only four...) Has a good moral of acceptance, lots of fun alliteration, and very poetic, fun descriptions. Have I mentioned that I love this book?
Picture Book 22 In this book the animals, a farmer, and his wife all live on a farm. The animals don't like the skunk that lives there. When it rains the animals one by one all pile up into the famers bed. When a skunk is let into the bed all the animals scatter. In the end they learn to like the skunk and all crowd into the bed together waiting for the rain to stop.
I enjoyed this book and a lot of it had to do with the illustartions because it describes exactly what is happening. It also teaches a good lesson to always help those in need no matter how much you do not like them.
