Not Bad

This was a fun little read. No plot whatsoever, but that’s not what we’re here for, so 🤷

Pretty sure it’s supposed to be a taboo read, but it felt more like forbidden territory than true taboo.

Like, sure there’s the step-parent thing and the Daddy kink, but they don’t lean too hard into it and there’s none of the fun self-flagellation that comes with the (imo) more intense taboo category.

But it was fun. 3.25⭐️

SWEET & SHORT DADDY-BOY ROMANCE

Yesss. This. Short, straight to the action, and super sweet. Just the satisfying instant gratification and comfort I needed after ploughing through other dull-paced, extra drawn-out stories that get nowhere even hundreds of pages later! This really hit the spot for me. It’s nice that no loose ends were left hanging open too, and even if I did crave for a little more context when it came to Elliot’s mother, I can’t argue with the stark and simple realism behind it all. Fact of the matter is there are mums like her; but I’m just so happy it all worked out in the end and that Elliot got the Daddy and Conan the baby boy they both deserve!

Thanks so much to the author and Booksprout for the chance to read this delightful little tale in advance! It’s my first time to read something from Violet Dragons but I definitely don’t want this to be my last. Looking forward to more MM goodness from them!

Can Conan be the man Elliot needs?
I have got to say this is a brand-new author to me so I didn’t know what to expect but this is a short story that is so utterly sweet. It’s adorable. 18 year old Elliot comes home after school to find the house is silent. His mother had run away with a man called Jackson and left Elliot behind. He doesn’t know what’s going to happen next, but then his stepfather Conan comes home and puts his mind at ease.
Is this story taboo? No it’s not Elliot Come to live with his stepfather until a year ago so they haven’t grown up together. They have deep feelings for each other and they are what each other needs. I found this a delightful me. It was short and sweet .

This is difficult to rate because it's just one sex scene and a short epilogue.

Also the plot is a little unbelievable: mom runs off with a rich man leaving his only son with his husband. And it turns out the husband didn't love the wife at all but actually lusted after the stepson.

I loved Conan's possessiveness and protectiveness and I liked that Elliott became his own man.

I'm not sure about the daddy kink, it seemed to have faded in the epilogue.

18-year-old Elliot finds out his mom abandoned him and ran off with a new man. Conan is Elliots stepfather, and he wants Elliot to continue staying with him. Both Elliot and Conan have been hiding lusty feelings for each other.
This is a super steamy short read.

My first book by Violet and loved this Daddy/Boy story which is my favourite trope. Brilliant characters and plenty of steam. Only one fault is that it was too short!!! Look forward to more from Violet.

Omg I loved this book so much. It was fast and sizzling. Conan knew exactly what he wanted and worked to get it. Elliott needed his Daddy and well he got him. I could read a whole series about them.
