It’s all my fault. I was warned, I even read some reviews that says the MMC is a grown ass emotionally stunted manchild, but still I read this. So everything is all my fault for reading this.
The last straw was the sort of third act breakup since they were not together together but MMC pushed FMC away because he thinks he’s too old, he doesn’t want to have children anymore, thinks the FMC deserved someone her own age, just another weakass beta writing of an age gap where authors think younger women can’t think for themselves.

This is definitely a shorter read, but I loved every minute of it. For reference, I really very fast, so I read this in less than 2 hours. The story didn’t feel rushed or cut short. I actually found myself wanting more chapters nearing the end, but I really enjoyed the 2 years of epilogue at the end. In my experience, there’s normally only one.
This entire novel was so well executed and well thought out. All the characters were likeable and I never once thought “wow, this character is exceptionally annoying.” I loved all the characters. The way the author delicately talks about the triggers was so heart warming and I found myself getting emotional for Elena. The fact that the author gave Noah a voice was so refreshing and she truly felt a main part of the entire book. Grant was amazing and didn’t make me think, “I’m rolling my eyes so hard at this main character my eyes actually hurt.”
I just loved this book so much. If you’re coming here from Tiktok, read it. It’s everything that every TikTok I saw made it seem. There’s a reason this has such good ratings.

Liked it, but sometimes a bit juvenile. The whole pranking in the beginning was a little over the top. It had funny moments though. A sweet romance, a few sexy scenes, but overall more about family. Not much drama. An easy festive read.

DNF at 51%. Mainly because the MMC is not a very good dad and still everyone acts like he is. I liked the beggining very much, but couldn't keep reading the "oh no I can't have babies, how incomplete I am" and the "oh I know I mess up sometimes but I'm actually such a good dad" - he isn't. He is just a man-child, really.

chicas menos mal que era corto porque yo no iba a aguantar esto por mucho tiempo más👹👹 tiktok nunca deja de sorprenderme.
es un libro completamente carente de trama. los conflictos son bastante decepcionantes y molestos. es que prefiero una patada en el orto antes de leer otro libro con el trope de “te quiero pero no podemos estar juntos por ningún motivo real”☠️. es tan absurdo que es ofensivo. además, tiene un intento de plot twist que no me la podía sudar más. literalmente lo he leído y me he quedado inexpresiva😑
los personajes son más planos que una tabla de planchar, es que no me podrían importar menos. es grumyxsunshine y literalmente que no tienen nada más de personalidad. tienen la misma profundidad que una piscina hinchable. que la única motivación de ella sea ser madre me ha tenido simplemente asustada. es que no tenia ni un hobbie que no fuera pasar rato con el hombre este. bueno, y encima tenían una química inexistente la verdad, y aún así son extremadamente pastelosos. se decían unas cosas que no sé ni como he podido esquivar la diabetes tipo 2 después de esos subidones de azúcar. era vergonzoso de leer.
y ya si me pongo a hablar de las escenas de sexo☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️. no, es que no. literalmente que las estaba leyendo y me imaginaba unas escenas que solo puedo describir como rocambolesca👅. honestamente, yo me meaba de la risa mientras las leía porque en mi cabeza sonaba algo del estilo a la cumbia del pp. es que no me lo podía tomar en serio.

🎃I liked seeing Grant’s struggles and growth in this book as a single dad. He really had to overcome some obstacles with his daughter and it was so heartwarming!
🎃This novel felt like the perfect length and story pace - I don’t think that the novel felt rushed or cut any corners - it wrapped up beautifully!

I really really enjoyed this.
Elena and Grant really grew together working out their own personal issues while also learning how to communicate and be in a relationship.
I loved that despite everything that happened between Elena and Grant, Elena never stopped showing up for Noah.
Noah was written really well as an angsty teen without being over the top.
The ending was honestly perfect. I loved their happily ever after and that included Elena’s mother and Noah, not just her relationship with Grant.
There may have been a tear shed, but in a good way.

a cute slow burn
This was a really quick easy read. It was very sweet. I felt like the conflict in the middle of the book with the ex-husband could’ve been played out a little bit more. It felt very anti-climactic. It was really played up that it felt like something was gonna happen with the conflict but nothing ever came of. It would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a quick little palate cleanser. This is definitely a one chili pepper for spice. Very simple very easy to get into if you don’t love a ton of spicy things.

This is a cute short story revolving around two neighbors Elena and Grant. Elena recently divorced her cheating husband and lives across the street from Grant who has a teenage notorious daughter. Grant's daughter stole Elena's candy bowl on Halloween, and when she thought the best way to get it back was to complain to the single dad, he denied the claim and was rude to her.
Grant and Elena's story was gradual, it was evident they were attracted to each other, however, Grant was afraid to divert his attention from Noah and wanted a girl who was thirteen years younger than him. The way they addressed their feelings in the end, was the highlight because obviously "communication is the key".
It had a good plotline for a novella. The drama and chapters didn't feel rushed. I liked how the triggers were perfectly and carefully handled by the author and given equal importance to the rest of the story.
Grant was all grumpy in the beginning but the way he became all smiley and happy around Elena said a lot about a man who was forced to mature to take care of his child. I love how Elena taught him how to communicate his feelings and helped him have a better relationship with his daughter.
Noah's bond with Elena was pure, and I loved how Elena was the mother Noah never had. She not just loved that kid, she took care of her and supported her when she needed her the most. Her inability to procreate didn't stop her from being a good mom 'figure' to Noah.
The epilogue and two-ahead storylines were just beautiful. Predictable but beautiful. It was wrapped perfectly.
This book was woven flawlessly, it was emotional and had all the angst. However, I wished the couple themselves had time to communicate their past rather than hear it from Noah.
I enjoyed reading it.

This book made me cry so many times in the second half of the book😭😭. I went into it knowing it was a single dad romance, THATS IT. So tell me why this book made me so emotional?? (I finished it at 2 AM and was playing sad songs while reading the emotional scenes).
It’s so sweet, quite literally the epitome of found family. The bond between his daughter and the fmc is so sweet. Also, the mmc sacrificing everything for his kid was so sad but so real. I wish we got a bit more of his protective side but this book was so good.
!!! MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
This man literally visited the fmc’s mother who has alzheimer’s and called ahead to make sure she was having a good day, to ask for her blessing to propose (i cried) and then in the epilogue his daughter asks the fmc to legally adopt her (i cried again) and since the fmc can’t have kids and the daughter was abandoned by her mother it was such a 😕😕😕 moment

The plot - This is a grumpy X sunshine, age gap, single dad romance. With a bit of found family, we live across the street neighbours, and a couple of light triggers so CHECK YA FUCKIN TRIGGERS PEOPLE. Smut was 2/5 on the spice scale. It’s a HEA, unsure of whether it’s in a series or not.
This one was SO sweet. It’s been downloaded onto my Kindle for FOREVER. I cannot believe I didn’t read this sooner itms great! The conversations around infertility, and addiction, and clear communication lines with children were SO beneficial and spot on.
The MC - Elena is our teacher FMC, she’s fiery and she’s guarding her heart, and who can blame her? Is she a lil naive? Yes. But for the plot and I can forgive that when she quickly comes to her senses.
The male counterpart - Grant is our grumpy MMC, who is ALSO guarding his heart. He doesn’t listen, but luckily he’s got 2 strong women to teach him the error of his ways.

Wow, Kristen just has a way with words and creates the most beautiful and thought provoking romances. She writes stories with hard hitting topics and doesn't shy away from the hard parts of life and how family units and support can turn a life around. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, it was a fast paced single dad, neighbour romance. There were a few little pockets of spice but the main plot was just so moving.
This is my second book from Kristen and she hasn't failed to choke me up yet. Highly recommend!

4.5⭐️ one thing about Kristen Granata is she’s going to write banter that makes me laugh out loud.. and also rip my heart in two, then put it back together.
The meet cute was hilarious, the prank wars were so fun, and the teenage angst was so real 😂.

eeeeeeee this book was so damn good. it started off with noah stealing sum candy & ended up w grant n elena in love🤭
grant is jus a single dad doing the best he can to raise his 14 year old daughter. & elena is a woman fresh out of a divorce.
the way i was giggling during this. the instant attraction between these 2 was electric. it was so cute seeing the way tht grant opened up. they had everything, banter, sexual tension, love n happiness n honestly i was so happy it ended well 4 them!!

wonderfully poignant story
This book was so poignant and wonderful! I loved these characters and their creative (inspired by real-life) meet cute. It’s a refreshing take on the single dad trope and it was beautifully executed.

This was an enjoyable little Halloween read. I liked the overall story and the characters/relationships were good, but I did think that the mom plotline was a bit much and their inner monologues were repetitive/sounded like a bunch of excuses.
