I had higher expectations for this book, which is always a bad thing. I read Michael Wilcox’s book Finding Hope, which was a talk he gave. I like LOVED that little book. I resonated with everything he said. So with this book, I thought it would be similar to his talk, but just expanded. Not so much. There were many good topics and thoughts in this book. It just did not grab me like the other book did.
I am probably biased because honestly every one of brother wilcox's books comes into my life right when I need it and this one was no different. We all have times when we need to remember what it is we hope for. Loved the book, needed this book.
I took several Institute classes from Michael Wilcox as a young single adult and was profoundly affected by his insights into the gospel. I always reach for his books with excitement at recreating the feeling of wonder I had in his classes, but for some reason they don't quite pack the punch that listening to him does. Maybe they just move a little slowly for me. Great concepts, though, and I especially enjoyed the chapter that explored God's awareness and love for each of His creations, extending from every thing in the heavens down to every sparrow that falls. Beautiful lessons on a topic I find hard to understand.
