Crowboy is attending school for the first time, but he's scared, so he decides to turn himself into a rattlesnake. But his plan to be a snake isn't working out as he thought it would when a girl from his class tells him she actually likes snakes.
Fun book for kindergarten. After students are comfortable with school, fun to go back and read this and realize they now have friends and how far they have come since the start of the school year.
A cute story about a little boy who is scared about going to school for his first time and decides that he will pretend to be a rattlesnake. I like how he slithers, sticks out his tongue and shows his fangs. The books illustrations really show a southwestern flair in the bold use of reds, yellows and browns which really fit with the theme of the story. A very good book about friendship.
A very sweet and funny picture book about starting school and making friends. The kids in storytime really enjoyed it (especially the page with the bag of bugs).
