This charming series has been specifically designed for babies. A great introduction to books through well-known nursery rhymes and interactive text. Singing songs and rhymes is the perfect way to bond with your baby and share quality time. It also aids language development by introducing them to the natural sounds and patterns of speech. Combining these with actions also stimulates the brain and helps muscle development.
FIVE ENORMOUS DINOSAURS/ SENK GWO GWO GWO DINOZO is a cute and simple bilingual board book. It features a counting rhyme/song that begins with five dinosaurs and working down to none. The book is written in both Kreyol and English so readers can enjoy in either or both languages.
What I loved: This is a very simple but fun concept. This is perfect for toddlers who will love the rhymes, counting, and the stomping (definitely worth acting this one out a bit!). The images are very cute with children dressed up as dinosaurs, with the matching number of dinosaurs to the rhyme on each page spread. The bright colors and simple images are great for the littlest readers who can understand what is happening as they listen along.
The bilingual inclusion is a nice touch. Whether you want to read in one, the other, or both languages, it is easy to do, and easy to see where the text corresponds on each page. While it takes up a bit more space, the text in the two languages are in different colors, so it does not detract from the colorful nature of the book.
Final verdict: FIVE ENORMOUS DINOSAURS/ SENK GWO GWO GWO DINOZO is a charming bilingual board book perfect for older infants and young toddlers.
Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Jack borrowed this book from the Oxford Public Library. I picked it because he loves when Dada and I pretend to be dinosaurs.
As expected, Jack loved the kids wearing dinosaur costumes, the counting, and the rhythm. Though, I did struggle to get the rhythm right for the stomping and roaring, but the illustrations are cute and it does include music on the back cover for people who actually know how to read music.
This delightful board book about the familiar counting rhyme features five adorable toddlers wearing dinosaur costumes. If you look closely, observant readers may notice that one child has a prosthetic leg while another has a patch over one lens of their glasses. A high energy joyful board book that will be fun to share!
