Skin Deep Beauty

A dark portrayal of the human spirit, abuse, and a chance at a possible new life as Moeko who has been ostracized, used, and despised her whole life simply because she is ugly. As such if you are sensitive to bullying, violence, sexual situations, and some nudity you might not want to check out this series.

When her inner ugliness spawned by the scorn of others comes out she is given a rare opportunity to cast away her old life to take on another but having to become a new person she has a handler (called master in the book) who must report her progress of assimilating and before she even gets the surgery she has no idea who she will become.

For those that have seen these books on Amazon like I did you might notice the covers are the same for two volumes each which at least for this part of the story is part one and two of the first case file of this Reset program. Being a less known distributor Shusuisha inc probably decided to publish the story by chapter to make them cheaper and thus allowing customers to be more inclined to try the series and possibly others from them. So far I have read the first two and it seems like the story has concluded for Moeko (admittedly I peeked at volume 3 to see it is the beginning of a new case) so it makes sense every two books will explore a new person taking on another person's life though I wonder how dark things will get here on out considering the start of the series or if Moeko ever makes a comeback.

Not for me

The premise sounded like a combo of Re:Life and Kasane, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Chapter 1 introduces the MC and her eventual incarceration leaving right after introducing the reset idea. The blurb for the next chapter mentions serving under a "master" so I'm out.
