This is a compilation of a weekly column. I love reading this column each week in my local newspaper. I enjoyed reading these again. Some I remembered and others I didn't. I would recommend reading just one or two a day. Also, I think this is great for Memphians, but I'm afraid others might not enjoy it as much. However, Mr. Conaway has a beautiful way with the written word and the ability to look at events, people and places in a unique way.

This was a collection of weekly-published essays, and I really think I would have enjoyed them more if I had just read them as part of a weekly newspaper, and not as a collection. Also, I'm not a Memphian, so there are undoubtedly many local figures and inside jokes that I didn't recognize.

Excellent book for a Memphian to get a little history, humor and pride. For folks outside the city this book might not be the best, or remotely relatable read.
