Book 1 of Thistle Field Estate

Chloe Grant is only days away from her wedding to her high school sweetheart, Jeff Cameron. But with a last-minute RSVP, her fairy tale life-to-be is shattered. The shocking RSVP reveals that Jeff, the only man she's ever been with, has been cheating on her.

Angela Hankin, Chloe's best friend and would-be maid-of-honor, convinces her to get away from the chaos. Escaping the fallout of a failed wedding and relationship, the two friends go on Chloe's non-refundable honeymoon to Scotland.

Instead of being able to forget the past, the shadows of what her ex-fiancée did continue to haunt her. That is until the bed and breakfast owner's son, Alec Mackenzie, sets his sights on her. But the handsome and bewildering equivalent of a Scottish Casanova, is seemingly the same kind of man that Chloe is trying to run away from.

Can Chloe see past Alec's supposed playboy ways to the sensitive and passionate man with a sad past hiding within? Or will she go running back to the only man she's ever known and loved to make amends?

I've been some semblance of a writer since 1st grade. That was when I first tasted the delight of getting a book published and reading it aloud to the class with rave reviews. What a power trip for a 7-year-old.

It wasn't until 7th grade that I was highly encouraged by my English teacher to continue writing poetry outside of class assignments. From there I moved on to Literary Club in 8th grade and added short stories to my repertoire.

When high school came around, that was when I discovered the wondrous world of FanFiction. It all went downhill from that point. Numerous teachers in high school loved my work and submitted some of my (safe) pieces for publication. My teachers were the reason that I told myself,

"I can do this. I can be a published author one day."

In college, the trend continued but I pursued a career path in the design sector and writing went on the back burner. That is until a month after THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, in 2022, I decided to start writing once again. It started with FanFic after FanFic, fast and furious.

Writing is my passion, my escape. Always has been, always will be.

A page-turning, steamy romance set in picturesque Scotland, featuring a Jamie Fraser (Outlander) type MMC who will make you smitten.

'But Alec... Alec was making me realise that what I had wasn't what I deserved. I deserved a lot more. I deserved better. I had been too stuck in my ways to realise it'.

𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀
Chloe and Angela are setting off on what was meant to be Chloe's honeymoon to Scotland. Arriving, they are greeted by the MacKenzie's - one being Alec Mackenzie - a 'Scottish Casanova'.

But Chloe's not in the mood, she's distraught over finding out her fiancé had been cheating on her for years - and it was his idea to come to Scotland, not hers.

With her best friend Angela trying to cheer her up, and egging Chloe on to check out the handsome Scottish guy - Chloe notices just how attractive he is, and Alec feels the same way...

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
Oh I loved Alec and Chloe together, they were so adorable. The plot flowed effortlessly and was so easy to follow, it was so lovely seeing Chloe grow, heal, and come out of her shell around Alec - realising how she was treated by her ex-fiancé wasn't what she deserved... but how Alec treated her, was what she deserved.

I always say this in reviews, but I love dual POVs - getting inside the characters minds, seeing what they feel and their thoughts. The way Chloe and Alec thought about each other was heart warming, both of them trying to overcome their past and let their present flourish.

I would love to see a book about Angela and Ian too, as it's hinted toward something there toward the end.

Overall, this was such a fun, light hearted read - the plot, dual POVs, the steam, chemistry and romance 💫

Thank you to K.Iwancio for this ARC copy, this review is voluntary.

This book was so cute and drew me right in! Ms Makenzie’s pushing was just the right amount of meddling. Every girl needs a bestie like Angela to support them and have their back. And Chloe and Alec are completely adorable together. Everything about this book made me want it to be turned into a Hallmark movie, in the best way! It was sweet and cheesy and I ate it up!!!! A little bit of miscommunication but not so much that I was getting frustrated with how the main characters interacted, it felt realistic and authentic. Big fan of this book!

This book is adorable. From the plot to the lovely characters, I felt like I was in for a cozy story, and I think I got just that. Chloe has my heart from the very beginning. What a wild situation to find yourself in, but she learned so much about herself throughout the story and I found myself just rooting for her in every moment. Alec is a dreamboat. I LOVE that he's every bit a Scottish man. He's such a great son and the way that he took such tender care of Chloe had me swooning. Also can we talk about how much fun Angela is? I think we all only hope for such a supportive and caring foul-mouthed best friend! I loved her. SO MUCH.

And who doesn't dream of a Scotland getaway always? Chloe girl thinking she needed an island getaway... She had no idea what she needed 😅😅😅

I haven't read a K. Iwancio book I haven't adored yet so I had a feeling this one wouldn't let me down. This cute story will sit with me for sure.

Definitely spicy. Definitely sweet. Definitely had a great time with this one! ❤️

Arc Review! Bed & Breakfast by K. Iwancio

The first words that come to mind when thinking of this book is “Mo Chridhe!” which Alec translates in the book as My Heart! This book was incredible and had me in my feels! I could have easily finished it in one sitting, I was hooked from the begging and instantly fell in love with all the characters! Alec & Chole are literally soulmates and they had me kicking my feet in the air feeling giddy throughout the entire book!

Some of my favorite things;
- Dual POV
- Scotland setting with a Scottish MMC
- MMC shows MFC how she should be loved and cared for and they help each other through their journies of healing
Highlights:
- “I need ye like I need air”
- “Has someone… hurt ye before” / “Do I have to knock some teeth out?”
- “I want to watch ye…lose yourself”
- “Because… ye have my heart. For safe keepin. I dinna trust anyone else with it. Well… that was till… till I met ye”

Be sure to check this book when it releases 8/28! Special thank you to K. Iwancio for allowing me to be an arc reader, I had a blast! Also crossing all my fingers for a possible second book to explore Ian & Angela’s possible connection? 🤞🏼

✨ ARC Review ✨

This was my first experience of being an ARC reader and what an amazing experience it was. Alec and Chloe are absolute end-game and Angela puts me in mind of my own best-friend who has just been immortalised in black and white.

This was the most self-indulgent book I have ever read in my life. Alec gives off the ultimate Jamie Fraser from Outlander vibe and as a Scottish woman myself, I was obsessed from the get-go. The book was so well-written, didn't have a complex plot (which I am a sucker for in a romance book) and the 🌶️ scenes were so detailed without bordering onto uncomfortable/cringey.

I've added the rest of K. Iwancio's books to my TBR list and can't wait to experience them. Hoping that everyone else reads this on launch day, it's a whirlwind of a journey.

ARC Review!

This book, written in dual POV, makes for a light and cheerful read, filled with witty banter and great chemistry between the main characters.

The story follows Chloe, who desperately seeks some quiet time after discovering her fiancé was cheating on her, days before their wedding. Together with her best friend Angela, she goes on her honeymoon to Scotland, to the quaint bed and breakfast run by the endearing Mackenzie couple. Alec, the Mackenzies' son, takes an interest in Chloe from the moment he sets eyes on her. Coming up with various excuses, he finds reasons to be close to her, particularly when he senses that she might be dealing with something.

Being a tall and striking Scotsman, Alec enjoys the attention from the inn's guests, leading to Chloe dismissing his advances as insincere. After realising there is more to Alec than meets the eye, she decides to give him a chance, and over the next two weeks of her vacation, they become inseparable as they discover how deep their connection is.

For those who enjoy the grumpy (her)/ sunshine (him) trope with a one-bed, spicy vacation romance, this book is an excellent choice. The slow burn adds an enticing suspense to the story, making this a page turner that will definitely live up to its expectations!

Thank you to K. Iwancio for a copy of Bed & Breakfast and the chance to ARC review the book.

Bed & Breakfast is an engaging, light-hearted rom-com read HEA with plenty of spice and a love story that pulls you into the pages. It’s been a while since I read a romance that doesn’t have complicated side plots pulling the reader’s attention to other dynamics of the lives of the characters. However, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a stereotypical highland romance story – Bed & Breakfast has plenty of twists on the path to true love for Alec and Chloe to keep the pages turning and the reader hooked.

The writing style of this book is beautifully crafted, and descriptive and pulls you into the character's every thought and movement. At times there are a few words that Scottish people would not say or use, but American English. The description of the Scottish landscape is good allowing your imagination to place it in an imagined highland setting.

I liked the characters in this book. Chloe and Alec are well-constructed and rounded out to make them relatable and leap off the page. I did find Alec sometimes a little stereotypical of the Highlander and too many times forgetting I was reading him as Alec as he felt very Jamie Fraser from Outlander in character energy (minus the 1700s). Chloe’s chapters were more enjoyable to read and I loved her dynamics with her best friend Angela and their adventures in Scotland.
A perfect autumn/fall vibe romance to curl up with up with to enjoy as the weather changes and fall in love on the page.

This book was a lighthearted, quick & easy read! Alec & Chloe had great chemistry and are a adorable couple. This slow burn, vacation romance, with plenty of steamy scenes, made for a fun story. I also liked the dual POV. It was easy to follow and the story flowed nicely.

I really enjoyed the cozy Scottish bed and breakfast setting. This book made me want to visit Scotland!

My only complaint is that the Scottish accents were a bit hard to read at times and I personally struggled with it.

Overall, a cute and fun read, but not super memorable.

Thank you K. Iwancio for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book is a steamy romance set in a family owned bed and breakfast in Scotland. Chloe decides that she’ll still be going on her honeymoon here, but she’ll be going there single. The last thing she expected was to meet a sexy Scotsman who helps run the B&B, Alec. Alec is the type of guy you’d only see in movies. He’s charming, funny, gorgeous & incredible in bed👀 I loved seeing Chloe slowly open herself up to Alec while she manages her own feelings of heartbreak from her ex fiancé. It’s a slow burn romance but I was here for all of it. Alec & Chloe are ride or die and I hope to see them again in another book. I also loved that the scenes weren’t cringy, it was all beautifully written❤️

Chloe just had the worst wedding day ever, since she didn't actually get married. She is still going on her month-long honeymoon, in Scotland, with her best friend. While checking into the bed and breakfast, she meets Alec and there are sparks right away. While she observes him for the first few days, he seems like a flirt and she doesn't want to have anything to do with that type of guy again.

I really enjoyed this book. There were parts when Alec spoke in a Scottish accent for a prolonged time and that was difficult for me, but that's totally a personal thing. The story was cute and the characters were wonderful...except for Alec's brother, I hated him.

Can I just say, I want Mrs. Mackenzie to be my next mother-in-law!

I thank K. Iwancio for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

brb, looking up flights to scotland immediately

Thank you to the author for an ARC!

This was my first experience with K. Iwancio’s work and boy oh boy am I excited to continue reading her works!!! This book was such a breath of fresh air. Imagine a fast paced, sweeping love story born out of a horrible life event. Add some kilts and lots of steam, and you’ve got this book! I highly recommend this novel to fans of Kindle Unlimited romances! I now have the travel bug and will be thinking about the absolute dream of the male main character for days.

Things I loved:
-fast paced
-amazing communication
-well written steamy moments
-lovable characters
-a “learning to trust again” character arc
-believable plot
-no third act break up

This was a great “my fiancée cheated on me so I went on my honeymoon with my bff and found a Scottish hottie instead” kind of story! 😁 Actually, there are some moments from both the FMC and MMC they have to work through but overall it’s fairly low-angst and now I want my own spicier version of a Scottish Hallmark story! 😉

Ready to pack my bags

After reading Bed... and Breakfast, I'm ready to pack my bags and head to Scotland. I loved reading about Chloe and Alec and seeing how their relationship ebbed and flowed. Chapter 19 had me blushing like school girl and giggling like one, too.
If you're looking for laughs, spice, and a general feel-good book, this is the one for you!

✨ARC Book Review✨

Book: Bed… & Breakfast
Author: K. Iwancio
Rating: 5⭐️
Spice: 2🌶️
Releases: August 28, 2023🥰

Synopsis:

Imagine this… you just found out your soon to be husband had been having countless affairs just days away from your wedding and everything is already set in place for a month long honeymoon in beautiful Scotland where you can’t get your money back. So instead of not going, you decide to bring your very best friend with you, who was also suppose to be your maid of honor. Even though you wanted a tropical getaway honeymoon your ex-fiancé wanted to go to beautiful but chilly Scotland. You make the trip anyways, and you are staying in the honeymoon suite in a Bed & Breakfast with your best friend but your eye catches on the B&B’s owner’s son, that is Scottish and a looker. Then your whisked away by the beautiful landscape of Scotland and the handsome son to the owners. Who knew you could fall in love on your honeymoon???

Thoughts:

This book is a little over 200 pages and is every bit of perfect. K. Iwancio knows what she’s doing when she writes these romance books, let me tell you. The first line of the book hooks you from the very beginning, let alone the first chapter will have your jaw-dropped and you will want to finish this book in one sitting. And let me tell you now, I was on chapter 6 this morning and finished this book this afternoon while still doing things around the house. I just had to know what happened next with Alec Mackenzie and Chloe Grant.

The characters back stories that some how were so similar that brought them together and how they found each other was so effortlessly perfect. They were simply made for one another and Alec’s mom dabbling into it was so so cute and almost whimsical with her second sense that she had. Chloe’s best friend reminded me of myself, especially since I find myself saying things out loud in public and not being afraid of who hears and embarrassing my friends easily with what I say. It made me laugh every time she said something out of the blue to make Chloe laugh or want to slap her to shut her up.

There’s no need for me to say that the setting for this story was so so perfect being at a Bed & Breakfast in beautiful Scotland for a whole month. Who needs boring stories about the States when you can have a romance set in Scotland!😍 Along with a Scottish, cinnamon roll MC that was just too downright perfect for his own good!

If you haven’t already gotten the gist that I absolutely love K. Iwancio as an author, small business owner and all of the above. Then you should have a grasp on it after you’ve read this review. She has a website in her bio that you should totally go check out also, because she has freaking amazing stickers, bookmarks, HER BOOKS, etc. This book is also available as of August 28th so you should def go buy it for your own good also!!🥰😍❤️

She’s done it again! K. Iwancio has reaffirmed why I love her so much! I was obsessed with this book. Chloe and Alec’s story is fantastic. It’s a nice slow burn, but when it got there, it was 🌶🌶🌶🌶! Like one of her spiciest books yet and I am here for this evolution!

The dual povs were great, I really love books with both main characters character views, especially when there a bit of overlap in the scenes so you see what the other is thinking. The descriptions of the scenery made me feel like I was on my own Scottish vacation, I could totally picture it clearly.

There was good character growth for Chloe. At the start of the book is a mess after her whole life crumbled. But throughout the book she gets stronger, and more than that, discovers things about herself she never got a chance to explore before. Alec is your textbook dreamy Scottish book boyfriend. He love his land. He loves his mom. And he falls first.

I would have liked to see Jeff get punched, but I like when the assholes get their comeuppance. This is Chloe and Alec’s story, cheaters not included.

Did I miss the Obi-Wan reference? Because I’ve come to expect Obi-Wan references!

What would you do if you found out right before your wedding day that your fiance was cheating on you? This is what happens to Chloe, and she decides to head off to Scotland for her one month honeymoon trip. She brings her friend, Angela, with her for part of the trip.

While in Scotland, she meets, Alec, who is working at his parents' bed and breakfast. He is immediately attracted to Chloe, but she thinks he might be a womanizer, just like her now ex-fiance! Angela tells her to go for it, but she is nervous. She's only ever been with one man, and she doesn't really find much joy in it... until she meets Alec!

Alec changes her mind about a lot of things, and he sees her and cares about her for who she is. This book is steamy and spicy, but it also has a lot of great character development and growth.

It's a slow burn, vacation romance with dual POV. I would recommend this book if you're looking for a spicy romance with a lot of heart that makes you want to visit Scotland ASAP.

Thanks to the author, K. Iwancio, for an ARC of her amazing book. All opinions are my own.

“You like women. But maybe kilts are just a gateway drug to the other side.” 😂

“I need ye like I need air…” 🥹

Did you ever think you would find true love… on your month long honeymoon?! Chloe does! *record scratch*
Don’t worry. No on page cheating here. Chloe is a scorned ex-fiancé who breaks off the wedding a few days before and decides to go on the honeymoon with her best friend.
Alec is a hunky, outdoorsy, Scot who works at his parents B&B. Also scorned from a past love.
Alec’s mom was up to shenanigans with her matchmaking - and I was here for it!
Seriously good banter and steamy bedroom talk 🥵

This one was such a cute book!!! 3.5🌶️ !!

Poor Chloe isn’t taking a normal honeymoon, she’s going with her best friend! She is heartbroken after finding out her only boyfriend/hs sweetheart has been cheating on her.

She takes her honeymoon to Scotland and stays at an adorable place for a whole month. She meets Alec who works there and is the son of the owners.

She does her best to stay away from him but fate has other plans 😉 this book has me laughing and wishing I was there myself! Very much a hallmark feel to the boo but with quite a bit of spice!

This is a cute romance set in Scotland. The story is sweet and a perfect read for those romance lovers out there.
The Scottish conversations took a bit of getting used to, not sure all Scottish people as such a stereotype, but it didn’t spoil the story.
