More Dark Tales of Cryptids and Park Rangers

Rate this book
Welcome back! The creatures that lurk in the wilderness have missed you.
Enter the forest once again, flashlight trembling as you search for the unnatural sounds you heard just outside the perceived protection of the light from the campfire. Don’t worry, I’m sure it was nothing. It definitely wasn’t a bloodthirsty creature watching you from the shadows, waiting for you to let your guard down so it can creep up and grab you unawares. I’m sure it just wants to have you for dinner. Umm… I meant to have you over for dinner. Yeah, that’s what I meant to say.
These eight stories will transport you back to the forest, where nothing is certain except danger, and staying alert means staying alive… hopefully.

Remember the rookie park ranger who had to endure some strange rules in a fire tower? Well, he’s back. This time he’s guarding a warehouse. Because nothing could ever go wrong inside a mysterious warehouse on the border of a forest, right? His story continues in, ‘I used to work in a fire tower with some strange rules. I’ll never make that mistake again.’
Don’t worry though, we have plenty of park rangers being pursued by various creatures such as Dogman, Skinwalker, even Bigfoot. One of our rangers wanders into an abandoned mining town out west and finds more than he ever wanted. And of course, our returning ranger from the fire tower has not one but two stories telling his continued terrifying tales.

So sit back, relax (if you can) and enjoy these tales of terror. Just remember, everything is true, even if it’s not.

Don’t read them alone in the dark.

Monsters

A Ranger who used to man a fire tower with weird rules has a new job. The rules here are even weirder. What happens if he breaks one? A park ranger finds out the rumors about the abandoned mining town are nothing compared to the truth. Guarding wind mills seems like an easy job, but it is harder than you think. What was that thing? These and other tales will have you on the edge of your seat. Creepy read full of monsters. Going in the woods is not safe.

fun short stories

I typically don’t read short stories but with common MC these hung together pretty well. I like the situations the MC fins himself in and how he reacts.
I will be getting the other books.

Not like the first book. This is an anthology of tales. Several of the tales have the 'I started a new job and they had these strange rules...' I liked the first books witty repartee, there's none of that in this book. These are well crafted stories, but I was missing the humor. This book can be read without reading the first book

Sorry, not for me.

This gets two stars, because one story is really good. It is told from the cryptid's point of view.
There are eight stories.
Five (5) are, in my opinion, just written down computer games. One has a possible cryptid. The others are just scary stories. Well, not really scary.
Maybe I am just too old. 67.
I did like "Misadventures of a Cryptid Hunting Park Ranger".

Mike Kelso-Creepy Creptid Stories

These books are too weird and creepy for me. These stories are way too "freaky and far fetched" for old folk like me!

Interesting stories but the AI reading it made everything run together so it was a little odd. I think if I was reading it I would have liked it more than the Audiobook.

This second installment is a worthy sequel. My favorite was the second to last story. Definitely worth listening to if you like cryptid stories. 👍
