General Lenora Mitharaus has been the Lightbringer since she decided to fight against the Curse. People of Ae gave her this title, and she dedicated her whole life to keeping them safe from the Darkness, but a certain event called the Northern Eclipse changed everything. Now, Lenora is confident that the profound love that consumes her soul means more than her duty, and she is ready to sacrifice everything for it. Zuraya, as the new Lightbringer, now understands Lenora’s previous beliefs. She now realizes that her own happiness cannot come at the expense of forsaking the Isle of Ae. Even while drained of her powers, she waits for the day she will be healed and fight the Curse alongside her lover. Their journey becomes a way to heal their homeland and form an unwavering relationship at the same time. As they unearth hidden truths and confront treacherous betrayals, they come to realize that the Northern Eclipse was merely the tip of a much darker and more complicated disaster.
Sem Thornwood (she/her) is an indie romance and fantasy author. If she is not reading then she is writing. She loves possessive love interests in a completely healthy manner. She writes dark romance and fantasy but her biggest dream is being able to write rom-coms and thrillers. Everyday she wishes there were more adult sapphic romance books and plans to write more herself.
Rapture in Total Eclipse is the second book of the Sun & Moon duet series by Sem Thornwood. It follows on from book one, Woe In Total Darkness, and its after-effects of what happens at the end.
Without giving too much away, in case you haven't read book one, this book is filled with twists, turns, spice (so much spice), secrets, and shocking revelations.
Sem's fantasy world is well-written, the characters are well-developed and the plot line is page-turning. I recommend it to all.
Thank you to Sem for a copy of the ebook. This review is left voluntarily.
