We were getting bullied by our medical providers during pregnancy, but this book taught us how to have the kind of birth we wanted. My wife got loads of ideas for active labor that cut her labor time down to a third of the average and she avoided all medical interventions. Her doctor became totally irrelevant although we did go to the hospital just in case. Check out any baby/pregnancy book by Janet Balaskas.
