Noa Morgan worked hard to put the past and Emily behind her. Not that she remembers much about the forty days she spent in captivity.
When Noa realises she is being stalked, she knows it’s him. Despite everything she’s done, he’s found her. And now he’s killing innocent women, leaving an item at each crime scene still vivid in her memory.
With the body count rising, Noa can no longer hide the truth from her new friends. Not if she wants to keep them alive.
Mariëtte Whitcomb studied criminology and psychology at the University of Pretoria. An avid reader of psychological thrillers and true crime books, writing allows her to pursue her childhood dream to hunt criminals, albeit fictional and born in the darkest corners of her imagination.

Before writing my review, I want to thank BookSirens and Mariette Whitcomb for gifting me the ARC of DEATH ISN’T ENOUGH. It was such a privilege to read this before publication. And I appreciate you trusting me with an honest review!
4 enthusiastic stars for Mariette Whitcomb's newest novel! This was such a thrilling, suspenseful, heartbreaking story! Our protagonist, Noa, is a an incredibly likable and remarkable character, who against all odds, survived her 40 day ordeal with a serial killer. But the past haunts Noa in unimanigable ways, and we soon learn she escaped three years ago only to be faced with the killer returning to finish what he started. But this time she is not alone, because she has the love of the Taylor family, who will do anything to protect her. And Noa, in turn, does everything to protect them as well.
I couldn't get through this book fast enough. I just had to find out who our killer was, and discover if justice would finally be served. There were edge of your seat moments and definitely twists I did NOT see coming. And I love love when those twists catch you off guard and have you re-reading parts of the book to see how you missed it!
I do love Mariette Whitcomb's writing--her passion comes out on the pages and lets you see how passionate she is about what she writes. I love how she portrays victims as not victims, but survivors.
I learned after reading that this is the first book in her new trilogy! Wow! If this was Book 1, I cannot wait for Book 2!!!

I started this last night and just finished it. I was hooked from the start. Let’s put it this way, I want more. This was a great thriller.
Noa has started a new life in a new town and she’s healing from her past. Her therapist wants her to try something new, to say yes to things. So she does and she meets a guy and this guy is head over heals for her and wants to protect her. Weird things keep happening to Noa and her past comes back to haunt her. The guy who held her captive two years ago is back and he’s killing other women to get to her. There are all these twists and turns and when you find out who the killer is, it will shock you. I loved this book.
A brilliant new psychological thriller. It's dark and gritty but with a hint of humour. While I'm not a huge fan of the romance in thrillers, I think this works well but you just don't know who to trust.
The story will make your stomach flip...in a good way!
Some memorable characters and dark villains. Dark themes. A splash of romance. And a nail-biting plot. What more could you want!
Books about serial killers is one of my favorite sub-genres of books. The first book I read was The Bone Collector and I was hooked. This author writes in a similar way. I love the characters and how their lives intertwine throughout the story. Reading how emotional the family could be as well as how supportive they were with each other, made this book so much more interesting. I felt giving the power back to the survivors is such a good message. The girls would never forget what happened but they could take control of their lives and leave him behind. The killer was just evil. Finding out who the killer was shocked me. I did not really know who the person was until the reveal. Because the attacks were not fully divulged so much was left to my imagination and that terrified me more than if all details were shared. I think this scenario is easily one of my worst nightmares, especially when there are plenty of true crime stories with tragic endings. The added twist was also nice. I figure that there will always be evil in the world, how people handle that evil is whether they survive or not.
This book will definitely keep you on your toes the whole time and thinking “wtf?” a few times. I always enjoy a good serial killer book. My favorite chapters were those from the serial killers POV. This was an overall suspenseful book that I couldn’t put down!
Thank you to the author and publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
Death Isn’t Enough is an extremely apt title. This book was twisted, depraved and also showed a lot of strength and determination in all of its characters. Each person has their own obstacles to face and overcome, including the villain. I just wish the author had to expand more on the background of certain situations because you’re left guessing what actually happened and don’t get an answer.
If you’re into dark gritty psychological thrillers than you need to get your hands on this book! Perfect for spooky season. There is also a splash of romance in this one which is perfect for myself. Add in a serial killer and we have ourselves a five star read!!
After what felt like forever, this book helped me get out of my reading slump. Mariette Whitcomb draws you in from the start, writing chapters that end with you needing to know what happens next. This book is a classic example of ‘one more chapter’.
Noa is a young woman with a dark past. She tried to start a new life in a new town with a new name but somehow he finds her. He is takes stalker to a whole new level, similar to the Netflix show YOU but a bit more relatable. Not only does she make new friends, she also finds herself falling in love with Luke, a rugged mans-man kind of guy. Her stalker lines things up perfectly for Noa to come back to him. Little does he know, Noa has something planned, making her the bait but allows him to get caught.

Wow! Mariette does it again! This is the first book in the Death Trilogy and it did no disappoint! It follows Noa, a woman trying to get past her past with walls and guards up, due to being held captive. When her therapist insists she says yes to everything (within reason) until their next session. So she does and ends up meeting Luke. That's when things drastically change. He is back. Mariette gives you the creep factor with this one, the eyes on you in a crowded place, the feeling of being watched at all times, small terrifying memories and the absolutely scary feeling of your privacy being invaded. Told in a series of letters/emails and from Noa's, the detective and stalker's perspectives we learn about Noa's past and how she got here. Will Noa survive this time? Or will she become one of the victims? Highly HIGHLY recommend. It's a fast paced, easy read. I found myself wanting to know more when I wasn't reading it.
The book was good. It grabbed my attention right from the beginning... and almost lost me towards me the middle... but quickly grabbed me again. Though I did guess the "who done it from a few subtle hints earlier, it made sense that was who it should be. I felt like the book's end was meh. It didn't wrap everything up nicely for me. I still have so many questions. I guess I'll be not so patiently waiting for the sequel! All in all I recommend this book. It was a good read, and I loved the multiple POV including the POV of the psycho :)
This is my first time reading this particular author. I was intrigued by the blurb and that is why I requested it.
The novel is told from multiple POV’s, including the voice of the stalker! The author handled the to and fro from these POV’s rather well, and seemed to hold quite a bit of ‘psychological ‘ insight, making the story more realistic and interesting.
The story itself centers around a young woman, Noa, who is trying to piece her life together with the help of a therapist. She is given an assignment, to say ‘yes’ to everything until the next session…
The story takes off from there. The reader will learn about Nora’s past, and insecurities, all the while being lead along with a pretty good creep factor as to what the past and present have in common.
Along the halfway mark, I was a little bored, but the story picked up again after that. The ending left me a bit bereft, and I was a little let down. Maybe, the second book will quell that feeling?
Overall, an entertaining thriller. I will read the next chapter…

I really enjoyed this book! It was a great blend of light and dark. It offered love, murder and a sadistic killer, a lovely trio! I also enjoyed the different viewpoints of all the characters and it was completed in a way where I didn’t get lost. My only sticky point is some of the romance pieces and family dynamics are a little too unrealistic and cheesy for my taste, but it did add to the story line and contributed to the needs of the lead female character, so I get it! Definitely recommend this book and author. It was a book that I easily could have gobbled up in a night if my schedule allowed.
Threatening, chilling, intriguing; all come to mind from the very beginning of Death Isn't Enough! The definition of a phychological thriller, a true page turner!
Emily has managed to escape her captor but her life must change forever in order to stay safe! Noa Morgan has emerged in a new town with a new background. The fear of being caught never ceases!
I believe you will be as enthralled with this story as I was!

Wow! This book was so good!! A fast-paced, entertaining serial killer thriller! This was my first by this author and I can’t wait to read more by her!
First off- I am now terrified sleeping at night scared someone is coming inside in the middle of the night- so creepy! And I also don’t think I’ll be able to trust anyone ever again!
I enjoyed the multiple POVs especially with one being the view of the serial killer- always my favorite in serial killer novels when we have their view too.
The pacing was amazing and the plot so intriguing. I was hooked from the prologue! Even though there are plenty of subtle hints that allow you to guess the killer early on, it didn’t take away from the story. And the romance portion was weaved in just right to not take away from the suspense.
Recommend checking this one out!!🖤 I cannot wait until book two of this Death Triology comes out in November!
Noa has relocated her to life to leave behind her traumatic past. But the last always has a way of catching up.
I found it hard to get into this book and didn't really connect with the characters. I did like the dual POV and the "stalker" was written well, I definitely felt creeped out by their dialogue.
Overall, it was a good concept & I'll keep an eye out for more of the authors work.
Noa is trying to put her past behind her and move forward with her life. When her therapist suggests she says "yes" when things come up she ends up having a night out on the town. She even meets a new guy. Suddenly the past is creeping its way back in....and I mean creepy. A secret about Noa? She was held captive years ago, but managed to escape. She moved away to get away from her stalker. But now he's back...and he's killing innocent women. Can she figure out who he is before he takes her again?
The story is told in multiple POVs, including the villain. Which I love. It gives the story an extra level of creepy. I really like reading books with badass FMC. It's refreshing to see women being able to handle their own, if they need to. I did call the twist, and I was so proud of myself. The ending left me feeling some kind of way. I can't wait to see what book 2 holds.
I received an advanced review copy in exchange for my review.
This is book #1 in the Death Trilogy. Wow! I have read a few of this author’s books before. I’m loved the suspense of who is the stalker and why is he fixed on Noa? I can’t wait to read the next book in this trilogy.
CAWFILE: 9.43 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
I can’t put into words how much I recommend this book. It was absolutely incredibly written. It’s fast paced, leaves your heart racing and you can’t help but crave more.
Well this was a pleasant surprise. I absolutely loved every second on this book. I'm a sucker for a dark thriller and this one checked all my boxes. Would absolutely read anything she writes without knowing what it was about based on this one. Just enough character building to keep you wanting to know more. Twists that you may see coming but she has you questioning yourself. Wanted to rush to finish but didn't want it to end.

Noa is a woman running away from her wrecked life after being abducted and held captive. As she tries to piece together a new life, she realizes the past has come back to haunt her.
I loved the storyline, but the dialogue made it hard for me to connect with the characters. I enjoyed the alternate Pov's and that we got such insight into the killer. Overall, it kept me engaged, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Thank you to the author and book sirens for the opportunity to review this ARC 💓
It took me a little while to get into the flow of this story, as it switches POV. Once I did, I couldn’t flip pages fast enough. The danger, suspense, and plot twists, kept me guessing till the very last page. Great start to this Trilogy! Looking forward to reading more.
Wow! Jut wow! I can't believe how well written this was! It had me guessing from the first page! This was my first time reading this author, and oh my gosh! What an incredible journey this bpok took me on! This really had me on the edge of my seat, and putting it down to do something as simple as taking a shower was a mission! I'd highly recommend this to anyone and everyone! Seriously, the different POVs just everything about this was absolutely incredible!!!
Wow ! This is my first read from this author. I read her small caption and decided to join the arc team with a friend. Wow ! I'm so impressed. I was hooked into the story immediately. Every page kept my interest. Every twist and turn made me question everything a single character did.
I loved that she included Noa inner battle with healing after being held captive and recovering again from being stalked. The healing process for her to be able to be with Luke fully. I felt like that was so important. The way she passed that healing and advice to the next victim.
I LOVED the duel pov! Being able to read the pov of the stalker was fantastic. This book had me guessing up until the end. Very fun read. Definitely will read more from this author.
Immediately want a physical copy of this book.

An electrifying psychological thrill of a read that grabs your attention from the very first page. A story about a woman trying to escape her past after being held captive . She relocates to a small town and begins to let her guard down, but then unusual things start to happen, and she feels someone is watching her. This is an unputdownable book that chills you to the bone when you reach the exciting and surprising cliffhanger. Well written with intense twist and turns. A must-read.
This is the 6th book of hers I've read and I love it just as much as her others! (maybe even a little more, but shsss!)
In Death isn't Enough, which is book 1 of this Death Trilogy, we get to follow yet another tragic story of abduction and psychopaths, but an oh so inspirational Resilient FMC! Actually, scratch that. Every survivor, woman, man and dog mentioned in this book is resilient and inspirational!
Besides psychopathic, demon clown.
Following Noa Morgan's life of surviving for the past two and a half years, you get engulfed in her story, Meeting Luke and the Taylor's, her friends, and the lengths they go to to protect and love one another no matter what.
There are so many characters and stories to talk about but I will be here all day so I will keep it to the parts that will convince you to read this! I will try my best to not give anything away in the process .
We get pulled into the harrowing experience of a victim and victim-turned-survivor mixed closely with the inner workings of a psychological abductor, stalker, manipulator and all round psychopath told in a page gripping way.
Some of my favourite, embedded rent free in my brain, parts are the absolute portraits of Strength, Resilience, Family, Love, Trust, Respect and utter Fight from start to finish.
If you're looking for a damsel in distress pity party read, this is not the series for you. Neither is any of these books by this Author and I am here for it!
We get a glimpse of unbreakable Love in the forms of relationships and Family. I loved these parts, it was a calm in a storm and added to the very soul of this story, it was a soft and cushy you don't know you needed reading this un-put-downable book.
The psychological thriller aspect of the story is absolutely mind blowing. It's dark. But not look away dark, it's thrilling.
You think you know who Demon clown is, then something happens and you question everything!
Oh but that build up at the end, it's so worth the emotional rollercoaster you experience.
I really thoroughly enjoyed the suspense throughout, it's one of those where you need to make sure you have the second book handy, because you just NEED to carry on!
This was my last book of December 23 and another great book by the lovely angelic looking Mariette and her dark side.
“Abducting a woman isn’t easy. Not at first. But as with everything else in life - practice makes perfect”
This is a dark kind of domestic, definitely psychological thriller and with one of my favourite tropes ‘The Stalker’ because reality gives us stalkers unfortunately and I love a thriller where it really actually could be you, making it more unnerving to read. The story is of Noa Morgan who has worked hard to move on and put her past and Emily behind her. Emily being her former self. She does not remember much about her captivity or her captor. Despite everything she has done, changing her name and moving away, when she realises she is being stalked, she knows it’s him. Now he is taking and killing women readying himself to take his prize back.
“For 916 excruciating days I’ve waited for you to break free from the chrysalis you’ve constructed around yourself. After all this time, you found your strength again. I can’t wait to see the beauty and zest of the woman I fell in love with. You will be mine again. Emily.”
Written with these creepy emails to Emily scattered through the book that just make you want to throat punch him for being a creeper. This was a thoroughly enjoyable, thrilling read !! Now I need book two ! As this is a trilogy. If you’re a psychological thriller fan I highly recommend this book that gives off dark Kiss The Girls vibes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Whitcomb's latest psychological thriller is a gripping page-turner. The story is quick-witted and dark, which kept me hooked until the end. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a five-star rating is my desire for a slightly more satisfying reveal, but that's just my personal opinion. Nonetheless, it was still really creepy and had a great lead-up! Personally, I loved the letters as they were a fantastic addition to the story. If you're a fan of dark thrillers with a touch of romance, then this book is a must-read for you! I'm eagerly anticipating the next book in this series!
Thanks to BookSiren's for this ARC. Right out the gate from beginning to end I was so interested in the plot and really the plot was the only thing that kept me going. The weird stalker vibes was really great and I would recommend this to anyone who loves weird stalker/crime stuff. There's not much I have to say except that it could have been written a little better and the characters too. I loved the letters to our FMC and I had a strange feeling that the certain character who was introduced to us earlier was the creeper. I figured lol. Not the best but it was pretty good!
This is a Romantic Thriller which, unfortunately, is not my type of genre. It was written well but the romance felt cheesy to me. If you like a lot of Romance then this book may be the perfect fit for you. I also wish the author had not given so many hints early on to what the ending would be because I knew 20% in how it would end. I did receive an advanced review copy for free, and I am this review voluntarily.
Thanks BookSirens for this ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and can't wait to read the sequel! It was tense and exciting. I did feel like the love storylines were all a bit too rushed but it did mean a lot was packed into one book, which was good. I absolutely adore the Taylors and look forward to encountering more wholesome family relationships! I think this book would make a fantastic film too...
