Fandom: Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- What if there was a darker truth hidden in Harry's story? Summer before third year, Harry begins to question his memory blanks. What happens when he finds himself before Snape for help? Includes mentor Severus, MPD, child abuse, protective Remus.
Yes, it's technically FanFiction. BUT OMG I LOVED THIS STORY!!!!
I read this many years ago, but I barely remembered it so I read it again (and found out there are sequels!!!).
These characters are so real. There's real depth and feeling and emotion here. You get sucked into the story; you SEE it, you feel like you're really THERE.
I liked the beginning, how it was kinda on fast-forward. But then, it was real time. I like that Severus never truly changes. I love how we see him struggle with the changes he does go through, but he never really changes who HE is.
Neville. OMG, Neville! I can't... Neville gets so much crap in the canon series. I love this kid. I cannot wait to see where this goes. I mean, I have to. Because I have to finish my reading challenge list first. But, wow! There is some serious Neville-loving going on here!
Draco. I can't even begin to figure him out. I love him like I love Severus. They both change, but they're still themselves. I am excited to see where Draco goes (especially when I learned the sequels are Drarry-minded).
Dumbledore. You know what? I'm not going to touch that one. I am good with this character's timeline. Let's leave it at that.
Silas is the SHIZNIT. I love the twist on this character.
I cannot wait to see how they help Boy.
Is Demon really gone? I don't think he's 100% gone.
I want to know what Harry is going to do. I want to know where Harry goes from here. I want to know how Neville's magic is coming.
I want to know so much!!!! And the only way to get there is by reading the rest. But, dang it! I joined a reading challenge group and I have to read two sets of books by the alphabet. And I'm sorely behind. Grrr!!!
TL;DR - AMAZING story with the best characters, real emotions, and great detail that sucks you in. You will NOT be sorry for having read this.
It's a wonderfully woven story set in the world of Harry Potter - his personality shattered into pieces, he needs to deal with the problems that caused the breaks. It's addicting, it's very long and it's beautifully written. Absolutely loved it.
Well researched, well thought out. Action-packed. No one is a cardboard cutout. Harry is a masterpiece character. Once he's all put together, you can clearly see all the different elements of his alters' personalities. The blend is fascinating. And his alters! Throughout the story Silas and Gabriel become individual characters in their own rights and this made me reluctant to see them merge with Harry. I didn't want them to suddenly go away. But it didn't work like that! I never felt as if the alters or Host ever got written off. They were still there after they were merged, clear as day. Loved it.
