About the author

David Jones was born in 1989 in Liverpool, which is still his home. He studied English language and Literature at the University of Liverpool before specializing in Renaissance and Eighteenth Century Literature. He started writing at an early age, and has won numerous prizes for both poetry and prose, as well as writing plays for the radio and producing short films. His chief interests apart from writing are Renaissance texts, performing and producing music, and playing sports.

Really nice short tales. I do not recommend reading it in 1 go, I think it is best to use it as a buffer in between reads or when you are in the mood for a little something. When reading a lot of it, it gets quite repetitive. Which is the only drawback (but it’s a major one)

This book took me a very long time to finish, and not because it was a hard read. This book is much like the first one. The conductor, which I assume is the main narrator of these stories, reminds me of the guy in Sucker Punch, who kinda leads the girls throughout their missions. I really like how these worlds are built in this book, but what takes a star off for me is that I really wish they were more fleshed out stories. Literally any world could have a whole book written from it. I know there is another book after this one that I assume is more flushed out, but I’m not sure if I’m gonna read it.

I read the first book and I loved this as much as the first one. I loved the unique shirt stories with love, death, time, life, and other worlds. It's so unique and the illustrations are so beautiful and at times so creepy! It's a very quick read to be read in less than an hour.

I enjoy thinking about other worlds, liminal spaces and abandoned places. It's always so easy for me to slip into thinking about old dreams I've had and wonder.

I don't get tired of this books, this is the second part to Tales and it was just as amazing as the first book. These are shorts stories of diffrente world that represent human desires, still there are consequences for entering. I LOVE THIS! The creation of each wordl was so well thought out that I got transported to each train ride! The detail it even gives about what day you can catch each train is very well done. The world are amazing and im sad it's such a short book but I could not get enough from this stories. I recommend this for a small read but with a lot of imagination and fantasy.

Mehr als 40 Geschichten über fantastische Welten und den Zug werden hier erzählt.

Die Fortsetzung ist absolut großartig geworden, weil man nicht nur neue Geschichten präsentiert bekommt, die mir wieder total gut gefallen haben, sondern teilweise gibt es auch Fortsetzungen oder Rückbezüge auf Geschichten aus dem ersten Band. Die Welt wird praktisch einfach nur erweitert. Mich hat die Fantasie wieder total überwältigt, es stecken einfach so viele Ideen in dieser Sammlung. Auch der Schreibstil hat wieder perfekt gepasst.

I really enjoy David Jones' writing. He has a magical way of describing things, especially sorroundings and environment.

I enjoyed the first book better, but mostly because I think a lot of the stories in this book, reminded me a lot of some of the stories that I read in the first one. A shame, but none the less, this was a good read. It feels comfortable, familiar in a way.
