The Focused Business: How Entrepreneurs Can Triumph Over Chaos is a terrific little book with loads of information that can be referred to later. (I will absolutely be referring back to this book at a later date.) It also comes with a number of helpful spreadsheets and worksheets to assist with focusing in on the evil forces that destroy your small business.
As a small business owner, I smiled at Crenshaw's description of the different types of people that can cause chaos in your business. In fact, I recognized a few of these characters from my past.
In The Focused Business: How Entrepreneurs Can Triumph Over Chaos, Dave Crenshaw, who is a bestselling author, speaker and business coach, offers his original ideas on how small businesses fail and how to focus on making your business better.
His book is fresh, funny, and easy-to-read with lots of real-life examples.
Even better, I managed to nab this book for FREE through BookBub. If you're an entrepreneur and you have some time to spare, spend a few hours reading through The Focused Business: How Entrepreneurs Can Triumph Over Chaos for new insights into how you can hone your business into a profit-making machine while avoiding those evil forces that plague most small business owners and entrepreneurs.
This was the first of Dave's books that I read, and he had me at "focus". One of the things we say where I work is that we need to focus and finish better. We start lots of things- we're an innovative company. But, then we start too many things and have too many plates spinning and have problems finishing.
Focus will lead to discipline which will lead to finishing. And, I know that since I can be OCD and ADD, I often need to tune out all the other "noise" and focus on what I need to do. Like right now. I have a zillion things I could be doing, but I'm writing a book review.
Overall, the author has air tight system for overcoming the many different ways that your business can go off-track. There are some valuable stories, but I would have liked some more individual cases or examples.
