Those who see the ghostly figure of the WWII fighter pilot in the English farmhouse garden at Grange End are destined to die within a week of that sighting. But when Cassie Grant not only sees the Polish flying ace in the garden but talks to him in her bedroom, it's clear that something more than a prediction of death is at work here. Hawk has been waiting for something at Grange End for nearly 70 years and from the first moment he sees the fragile beauty at the upper window he realises what it is - Cassie! But is he there to accompany her to the other side when her time is up or is his increasingly corporeal presence meant for something else? When the enemy of the past becomes the enemy of the present, Hawk is determined to save Cassie from her untimely death, even if he has to cross the boundaries between Life and Afterlife to do it.
Nhys Glover is an Australian born award-winning author of over 75 romance novels. She is known for blending heart, heat, and a touch of the extraordinary in her stories. From time-traveling lovers to soul-deep polyamory connections, her work explores love in all its transformational forms. Now living in Durham County UK, Nhys draws on her background in teaching and spiritual inquiry for inspiration in her writing. As she sits at her desk, staring out at the windy moors, she often reflects on what it means to stay human in an increasingly digital world. It is, after all, the subject of her newest book, a non-fiction called Authenticity, as Taught by a Machine. But no matter the genre, Nhys is always chasing one thing: the truth at the heart of every story.
Second time I have read this special book from one awesome beautiful lady
"How did I live before you?" His voice was low, soft and velvet."You didn't,you were dead, remember" "In more ways than one"
How can someone invisible be so solid and strong?" **************************************** Now I feel alive again, and with that becomes fear, I fear for you, Cassie, and that's what's killing me." "Not possible, you're already dead" Cassie smiled cheekily!"

I absolutely love this book. Such an easy read. The characters come alive n it will give you chills cos just how real this becomes. Its one of those stories that stays in the mind forever, never to leave you.
I found it to be very sad in parts, quite emotional and then all of a sudden Hawk, Cassies Hero, does something and you start laughing like anything. The sex scenes makes it quite a raunchy book...but not OTT, thankfully.
I would highly recommend this book, I just love stories like this. It's more of a romantic story; not Mills & Boons. It is a love story, but one with a twist.
When I recommended this book to my BFF back in 2013; when I first read the book, I thought it was going to be mainly about Hawk, about his life as a fighter pilot who was polish from the 1940s before he died in 1944.........Hawk stayed on earth to save her.....as Cassie was diagnosed of cancer, all of a sudden the year is 2013....!
************************************** Nhys Glover, the author of this book, is an amazing lady who actually managed to overcome breast cancer herself and she is so down to earth an inspiration to us all
Love this new cover; that you have uploaded in amazon, for such an amazing book, its so awesome n really matches the story. Well done
The Way Home is a story of a ghost falling in love with cancer survivor. It is a genius blend of genres with paranormal activity, drama, classic romance, a mystery (actually more than one), an evil plot which must be foiled, and a touch of comedy. I appreciate that Nhys Glover writes such vivid descriptions of people and places, allowing readers to clearly see the story in their minds.
I liked that the main character, Cassie, appears as a breast cancer survivor would and is shown to be loved as-is. The story is well plotted with many twists to move the story along quickly. I think readers who enjoy a lighter, quick read will like the pace of this book. But, I personally wanted a bit more focus on the psychological effects of what is happening in the story and less reliance on the classic romance storyline. However, this is just my own personal preference and does not reflect the quality of the book. Some readers will find it reassuring to know The Way Home does not linger too long on trauma. And even though I would have liked to see more of this element, I did truly enjoy this story without it.
Beautiful story with a little bit of everything. Strong subject. Action q.b. Characters easy to like and empathize with. Wonderful hero and heroine. And smooth, flowing writing.
It was great to watch Hawk and Cassie's interactions; their attachment and love grow; the way he fought to stay with her.
Each time period has its own feeling. Each point of view its own voice; strong, impactful, and easy to relate to. I could feel the different way Hawk as a ghost experienced the passage of time. As I could feel Cassie's own personal battle.
And I can still see the hero, under the tree, smoking his cigarette... waiting.
a lovely story between a ghost and a young lady recovering from breast cancer. the ghost only appears shortly before someone death, but things seem to be different this time. just a short story, but nonetheless an enjoyable one :-)
