Well holy hott damn!! What a freakin rollercoaster ride this series is turning out to be, it's quickly becoming my favorite by this author (aside from Kiera of course Lol)
You never know weather you're coming or going *Snickers-Hehe* So many twists & turns, surprise after surprise, it's damn impossible to discuss the story without spoiling something..... So I won't.
Let's just say, from start to finish, you will be completely enthralled by the mystery unfolding before you & the questions wrapping themselves around you. And just when you think it couldn't possibly get any more shocking, another revelation smacks you upside the head and bowls you over.
I CANNOT WAIT to see where he takes this series next, I honestly don't know how he does it, but I'm so friggin glad he does. If you enjoy a good mind bend, please check out this author, you really have no idea what you're missing if you don't. Traveling thru his worlds is an experience like no other. Completely & totally 100% addictive and oh so enjoyable =)

Yellow... it is a colour... the colour of the sun, of sun flowers... it is also the name of a song by Coldplay... and it is the name of Tim O'Rourke's book... the second in the Sydney Hart series and an amazing one. I'm trying to decide which one was better, if the first one "Witch" or this one... and I can't. He's done it again, surprising until the very last minute, giving and taking clues permanently.
This book is a page-turner, one of those you can't put down or get too distracted while reading it or you might miss a clue, something important. Sydney is in love with Vincent...but attracted to Michael. Michael says he loves Sydney, but does he really or is he standing in about the same place as she is?
Sydney is trying to get over her father's betrayal and arrest, she's trying to get over the events from the previous book, but life doesn't want her to rest and relax. Her best friend goes missing after a date with some guy she's met online. She may die... right? In the meantime, the weather in Cliff View isn't exactly cheerful, well, I'd personally love it, but Sydney doesn't.
Written in first person, this books makes you feel like the whole thing could happen to you, any day, well... not me, my life is too plain... but anyone else!! Hahahaha

This book took me a bit longer to finish as I had to pace myself because I just didn't want it to end! Yellow, like Witch, is for adult readers. This one is perhaps steamier than the first! Sydney's dreams were vividly painted and I felt like I was there. There are a rollercoaster of emotions that you will feel while reading this book and I look forward to the exciting ride in book 3!

Yellow was such a pleasant surprise being Witch ( the first in the series) was suppose to be a stand alone.Sydney is such a wonderful and determined character.She never lets anybody stand in her way or let fear stop her in her tracks.Vincent is so lovable and has such an endearing character.Then we have Mr.Yellow.Let me just say that I thought I had figured out who Mr.Yellow was at least on four occasions ,but I was wrong every time.Dare to take the challenge ? ; ).
This book was so suspenseful and mind boggling.I would find myself moving my iPad closer and closer to my face.It was as if in doing so,I could take it in all at once to find out who Mr.Yellow is.In the end I was in complete shock.That was kind of the theme of the book.There were many things that happened that shocked and surprised me.I can't leave out the smexy scenes either...they were so "yummy" .I can't wait for the next in the series!!! I love Sydney Hart!!!
This book was so suspenseful and mind boggling.I would find myself moving my iPad closer and closer to my face.It was as if in doing so,I could take it in all at once to find out who Mr.Yellow is.In the end I was in complete shock.That was kind of the theme of the book.There were many things that happened that shocked and surprised me.I can't leave out the smexy scenes either...they were so "yummy" .I can't wait for the next in the series!!! I love Sydney Hart!!!

One of the things I like best about Tim's books is how he has me thinking I have everything figured out then in an instant changes the direction of the story and has you turning in a different direction. This has happened with every single book of Tim's, starting way back with Black Hill Farm, before there were any other Tim O'Rourke books, including before there was a Andy's Diary! Well, he did it again with Yellow. Here I am thinking to myself Ha Tim! I have this story all figured out this time! Then BAM! He through me all off course. What an ending, what a book!!
Like Witch, Yellow is an adult novel, for mature readers. I ca't wait to see what Sydney gets herself into next!

Such a journey in this second book of this series. So much more is revealed about Sydney, Vincent & Michael. The softer side of Sydney which she doesn't always reveal is pushed to the front alongside the feelings she is struggling with for Vincent. Then there is the deliciousness that is Michael and all is not what it first appears. Throw in the crime that needs solving which has more shake ups than a game of boggle and you have me hanging on for life in the roller coaster that is Tim's books. Excellent 2nd book of the series, which leaves you begging for more!

In Yellow we see Sydney trying to crack the mystery through a series of horrifying nightmares, trying to cope with the fallout from the first book and the realisation that she is in love with Vincent with a few added twists and turns for good measure. Just when you think you've figured it all out....

Another masterpiece from Tim O’Rourke! There is nothing that this author can do wrong! Yellow covers many genres, including thriller, paranormal, horror, mystery and romance! Not to mention some cheeky dialogue in-between to lighten the tension and keep the reader amused. Add to this some great characters, nightmare ‘flashbacks’ and some great drama.
Each series of Tim O’Rourke’s covers many genres, however each is different and original, and Sydney Hart is no exception. I love the supernatural element of this series and how it affects Sydney, but rather than have me spoiling it I like the idea of keeping it a mystery and leaving you a little curious!
With Sydney now on leave she is spending all of her time with Vincent, but there is always that question deep down of ‘where can she go from here?’ The story opens up to a tender, loving scene between Sydney and Vincent. It is beautifully written, sensual and therefore, a little mature for the younger reader (I’d recommend 17yrs+). However, it is still very sweet and draws the reader in instantaneously. And after a small reminder of what had happened previously in ‘Witch’ (Book 1) we return to where Sydney is at, in her little ‘bubble‘.
“So instead of facing the world…….. I hid beneath the sheets of my bed, locked tightly in Vincent’s arms…………. we lay in each other’s arms, listening to soft music filtering in from the living room, and making love.”
As the story unfolds, the reader is acquainted with Lisa, Sydney’s best friend. Lisa’s visit is interesting, a little unwelcome at first. But Lisa is curious as to what Sydney is up to, at the same time as caring and wanting to encourage her to move on. Lisa is also a funny character and I caught myself laughing at some of the dialogue between her and Sydney.
It is at this point that the reader is made aware of Mr. Yellow and his mysteriousness, which is just what Lisa found so intriguing about him. Who is he? What’s his background? Will he be the one? However, (later in the story) Lisa appears to have gone missing but will Sydney be able to piece together what has happened? Remembering Lisa’s last visit to her home and connecting it to her ‘flashback’ nightmares when dreaming, Sydney decides to do a little investigating!
Some of the scenes, in particular the nightmare sequences can be quite horrific, scary and violent/gory. Sydney sees some horrific and violent events unfold in a household but can she make sense of them? There is also a sense of eeriness that the reader will feel at parts, in particular when Sydney visits Lisa’s house and sees a dark figure inside! This scene really did make me shudder!!!
As well as dealing with her feelings from Book 1, Vincent, trying to solve the puzzle of Lisa’s disappearance, her nightmares and the mysterious Mr. Yellow, Sydney also has to tackle her feelings towards Michael. After a quick fling with him in Book 1 he has developed feelings towards her, but she in in love with Vincent. Due to Vincent’s circumstances, Sydney is aware that a long term relationship could be unlikely but can she betray Vincent to ensure a relationship with Michael?
Even the reader is torn at this point as both Michael and Vincent are fantastic characters, and both have deep feelings for Sydney. They are great guys – I think it’s a pity she can’t have both. Albeit, some may disagree! The reader cannot help but wonder ‘what will become of Michael?’ if he doesn’t end up with Sydney. (You can feel a little sorry for Michael.) At the same time is staying with Vincent a realistic option?
Although it has been over 12 months since reading the first book of the series, I found Tim O’Rourke easily manages to remind the reader the main points of book 1, mostly through dialogue and Sydney’s thoughts throughout the book. However, they are camouflaged well into the story of Book 2 enabling a fresh reader to the series to pick up Yellow and understand what is happening and what has already taken place.
There are so many twists and turns, great characters and constant on-going adventure from beginning to end. You can liken it very much to your favourite roller-coaster and once you start, you just don’t want to get off. Any reader, of either gender over 17, who loves such a mix of genres to read will have it all in any one of Tim’s books. If you haven’t already, you MUST pick up a Tim O’Rourke book. You will not be disappointed!!!!

I wasn’t kidding when I said O’Rourke’s turn around time for releasing novels is extremely fast! The first novel in the Sydney Hart series, Witch, released January 31st, and the second novel, Yellow, soon followed on February 22nd. I mean, that’s fast. Really fast. And I just love it! I am in awe of O’Rourke and his ability to write such wonderful novels so quickly. It’s amazing, and it makes my day every time a new one releases!
Yellow is another mystery novel involving police officer Sydney Hart. Sydney has learned a lot in the last month, and she’s still reeling from it all when Yellow opens. On leave from the police department and less than keen to show her face in town, Sydney is laying low in her apartment with the charming Vincent, acting out their *ahem* deepest desires. Now, I’m not really a fan of reading about sex in my novels, but I think O’Rouke handles it very well. It’s not too overbearing or belabored, which is great for a prudish reader like me. Yet, those who enjoy this aspect of books will definitely swoon.
Sydney is even less sure of herself in this novel as all she’s ever known has been dashed to pieces, and the love of her life continues to disappear, as if he’s purposely distancing himself from her. Honestly, I really likd how real Sydney’s thoughts and feelings are in this series. O’Rouke captures Sydney at the point in her life when everything is an uncertainty, and he lays her soul bare as she slowly, but surely, begins to pull herself back together, realizing truths about herself, while also on the hunt of her life to save her best friend from sure death.
And, who is Mr. Yellow? Well, once again, O’Rourke stumped me and kept me guessing throughout the entire novel. I was sure I knew who it was multiple times as I read, only to be proved wrong time and time again. With the final reveal, everything fell into place, and I absolutely adored the conclusion, though a bit jarring and definitely not what I expected. A happy ending? Well, that’s for you and Sydney to decide.

Braine's Talk Supe Review
Give me any kind of monster but ghosts are something else. Yellow is motherfrickin' Creepy!
Just when I thought Sydney Hart's story is done, Tim pulls something out of his magical top-hat and once again proves that his storylines are as infinite as time. YELLOW, the sequel to Witch, is just as sexy, graphic and creepy as its predecessor. Seriously, my skin crawled over some of the scenes that Tim wrote from Sydney's all-too-real nightmares and all the dead bodies and his nutjob villain *shivers*.
YELLOW is a great combination of a suspense thriller/paranormal, a great amalgam of his Kiera Hudson and Black Hill Farm series. Tim is real good with police procedural stories and that skill was once again was greatly demonstrated in his Sydney Hart series. Not only that, Tim doesn't hesitate in bringing to the table creepy and mentally disturbing visuals to enhance the story. I felt goosebumps over the villain's penchant for rats and how he lives on dog food. No wonder the villain is a crazy mofo.

Sydney is such a tenacious cop who lives and breathes her work until now. Being sidelined after arresting her father has shaken her to her very core. Dealing with his betrayal and the outrage from her colleagues and neighbours for bringing it all to light has not won her any friends yet Vincent stands beside her, when he is not blinking out of existence that is. You can't help but admire her strength of character to pursue the truth regardless of the outcome and these traits endear her to the reader. The complexities of love and family are highlighted and there are plenty of twists to keep you guessing until the very end. I envisioned a love triangle of sorts but true to Tim's vision, it never works out quite like I expected it to and that is a credit to his wonderful story telling. I think this series has the potential to go far and I would really enjoy reading more about Sydney and her future cases that need solving.

We find our heroine Sydney Hart and her panties getting into a twist in many ways, with love, lust, action and adventure. Her wounds are still healing from the revelations in book one - Witch. Yet, she has someone to keep her heart and body warm in this new chapter of her life. The only problem is for how long.
As with all of Tim’s books, you think you can perhaps guess the outcome, but nope there is always GUARANTEED at least one surprise.
I have read most of Tim’s books, and it’s only time and a handful of other authors that get in the way of finishing the others… but I will.
Thanks again Tim, I bless the day I read Vampire Shift, which left me with an undeniable addiction to read more and more of the great Mr Tim O’Rourke.

Another great read from Author Tim O'Rourke! I honestly don't know how he comes up with this stuff!
Sydney Hart is back once again with another mystery to solve. With her friend Lisa's disappearance and the fear of Vincent not returning from nowhere-ville, Sydney finds herself questioning her future.
Michael has secrets of his own, and Sydney soon realizes that they may not be so different after all. Seeing ghosts and solving crimes seems to be Sydney's life vocation now.
I'm not one for spoilers so I can't give up the goods. Just strap in tight and enjoy the ride into Sydney's world. You will not be disappointed! Awesome read!

Well what can I say but yet another masterpiece from my favourite author Tim O'Rourke. He can seem to do no wrong and everything he writes is truly amazing, as is this 2nd installment of the Sydney Hart series. I.m really getting to like Sydney now that you look a bit deeper and see that she's not all she seems. Love the twists and turns and yet again I did not figure it out till the very end . I've got to say I love rats but they were a bit gross and a bit savage for my liking, and at least she has Vincent around to watch her back and has something in common with Michael now, love it.

I love Tim's books, they always end up surprising you in the last 10% or so.
However, I didn't like this as much as the first. It might have been because it ran along the same lines as the first with the surprise or because I found myself struggling for the first 30-40% with the story line. I didn't find it as engaging as previous books I've read by the author. It was still a great story though.

Well even better than witch! Who is Vincent really? What's the connection to Molly and what did he show Mr Yellow, can't wait for the next one, who is Mr Raven? Have to say I don't particularly like Vincent I prefer Michael

Amazing! O'Rourke has done it again. Another wonderfully written book that holds your attention until the end and leaves you hungry for the next!

Not really sure what to say about this book apart from wow. This book had me addicted from the very first word to the last word. This book really left me wanting more from this series :)

I am becoming obsessed with Sydney Hart and Vincent! !!! I am in need of more. Mr. O'Rourke has a knack at multi level writting. All his little easter eggs hidden in his stories make me love it that much more. Sydney is a fascinating character that is so unlike any other out there. I love the creativity that it takes to create such an entertaining story. I hope there is more to come from these two.
