Are you searching for more than a surface reading of the Bible? These 52 weekly studies emphasize personal application and will draw you directly into God's Word in order to love Him more.
In this roll-up-your-sleeves look at Scripture from Anne Graham Lotz, each of the studies begins with a short reflection tied to the present day, providing you a springboard into the various passages presented from the Old and New Testaments. In a refreshing departure from other weekly Bible studies, the Anne doesn’t explain what the passage means or offer support on what she feels God is trying to say through Scripture. Instead, she asks insightful questions in each study, prompting you to personally dig into Scripture and discover God’s specific message for yourself.
Into the Word is a spiritual study guide that leads you to the heart of God’s Word.
Anne Graham Lotz (born May 1948) is an American Christian evangelist. She is the second daughter of evangelist Billy Graham and his wife Ruth Graham. Anne Graham Lotz accepts speaking invitations worldwide, is founder of AnGeL Ministries, and an award-winning author.
A beautiful interactive book that has you digging deep into God's word and applying it to your own life. Great as an individual study and also a small group (which is what I did). Insightful and powerful. I love that this is more about God's word and the bible than a memoir - while Anne Graham Lotz still provides insight from her own life experiences the main purpose is to provide you with the truth that is God's word. Well done!
Concept of the book is great. The application & practical study is hard to grasp & takes a lot of time. The reason is there's loads of scripture to look up for a single question & it makes you have to go back & forth, several times & the following questions even return you to the same scripture you just looked up 3 questions back; then you wonder.. What was the question again? And the point was? I love the references to scripture .. but very time consuming & I'm not sure the points of the chapter come across as intended. The scripture should be directly in the text or may the author should have chosen 3 good. scriptures per question instead of 5 to 12, etc...
Great book for digging deeper into God's Word. I used it for my devotional Bible reading time in 2012. Each week focusing on a key passage with a theme but (in typical Anne Graham Lotz style) takes you to many passages throughout the scriptures that help you to understand the key passage better and apply it more accurately to your life today.
I felt like this book was just a bunch of questions compiled together. There were no real connections with what was being studied. Overall, it was boring and just a bunch of questions.
