After years of loneliness, Veronica found the love of her life--and sensual delights beyond imagining. A man of unholy secrets and hidden desires, David de Morrissey freed himself from his cursed past to find new happiness with Veronica.
But, deep in her heart, she still craves the thrilling danger and erotic power of the man David once was. And now her worst fears, and most private fantasies, seem to be coming true...
As the dark, timeless hunger tries to reclaim David, will Veronica find sweet love in the sunlight--or forbidden pleasures in the night?
As mentioned in my review of the third book in this series, its been a long time between books 1 and 2 and books 3 and 4 and my tastes have changed/improved in the years between.
I'm sure if I'd have read these books in the 90's I would have loved them but the series is almost older than me (26) so terms like vampiress seem really outdated.
Nevertheless, I do like that everyone got what they wanted in the end.
i liked the entire series, and somehow wish she (Lori Herter) had carried on, however i also wish she had followed more of the vampire myth... cold skin, etc. only a few things such as sensitivity to the sun, sleeping in a coffin, cast no reflection were among the vampire myth that i recalled from the books... but as for my first romance series i have ever read, it was descent and i guess i am a little spoiled when it comes to erotica and would prefer more literary toward the erotica genre over romance. for any vampire fan and romance novel fan, it is definitely worth the read... if you can locate them... i came across one by accident, and then purchased the others on half.com...
Book 4 in the series. Vampire de Morrissey is now mortal and the reader sees what it is like for a vampire to live as one. The secondary plot finally takes center stage when actor Matthew McDowall is transformed into a vampire by the vivacious vampiress, Darienne. Finally, the reader understands what it is like for a mortal to survive and thrive as a vampire. A fascinating read!
Pretty much what I thought was going to happen. A good HEA with David and Veronica, and a surprising growth in secondary characters. Not bad, but I probably won't reread the saga any time soon. I sat this book down several times while reading it to read something else instead, so it wasn't much of an attention grabber.
