I picked this book up ages ago and have read and reread it a couple of times. It is exactly the kind of coffee table discussion material that works perfectly for the conversation. It's not exactly a reference but, it has loads of pictures and discusses plenty of phenomenon and hoaxes that range from the usual Bigfoot and Loch Ness monster to Thunderbirds picking up and carrying a 65 pound child. I think that it is time for this book to go to its new home so today was my last re-reading before I handed off to a certain middle schooler.

This is Janet in a modern layout with many coloured photos and illustrations: mystery animals, ghosts and spirits, hoaxes, phantom hitch-hikers, poltergeists, strange powers, out of body experiences, religious phenomena (e.g. stigmata, the Shroud of Turin), weird happenings, Dover Demon, UFOs, mystery lights, crop circles, natural forms and faces... really enjoyed this collection with all the eerie topics and detailed descriptions. Highly recommended!

Interesting occult things discussed but incredibly credulous and lacking in any depth or spine. Worth the charity shop €4 just about.
