This is 100 years later since end of book #3. It is definitely not for the faint of heart or those with queasy stomachs! As with any series conclusion, the next book you read finds you missing the previous characters you grew close to. This was a book about life on earth, those who didn't live in Colorado mines, and what type of societies were created after the nuclear reactor meltdowns. It's not pretty. that's for sure. I'm not sure where the next book will go. A lot of the story line felt resolved by conclusion. I miss the previous series characters, but I still look forward to reading the next in the new series.

Couldn't turn the pages fast enough!

I inhaled this book. The story was a fast paced adventure that follows our heroine from freefall to fighting for her life and the strangers she has met along the way.

Completely engrossing

Another well-written book by Linda Andrews, Conceived in Blood is a fascinating follow-up to the Redaction series books and a very interesting beginning to her latest In Blood series. Very new material for Dystopian types of novels! It's exciting to see how civilization can either continue, or completely crumble with the end of the world...and even then...it's all a matter of perspective. It's very easy to find yourself caring about the characters in all of her books...they truly come alive in her words. To find out what happened to the descendants of the Redaction survivors... Let's just say...I can't seem to put my Kindle down.

"Conceived in Blood" is an interesting sequel to the Redaction series. Linda Andrews presents some interesting groups of people who might inhabit a post-apocalyptic world. Some will want to interact with and help other survivors while others will only want their group to survive. The first in the second series, this novel sets the plot and and characters that continue in the books that follow. I feel the characters are believable and the plot is exciting. I look forward to reading the continuing saga. The only downside is there's a lack of editing and the typos can be a bit distracting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Good character development and a different story line than most post-apocalyptic fiction. This is the first in a new series but it appears it builds on Linda Andrews previous books.
