In an alternate timeline, John F. Kennedy goes into acting instead of politics and ends up as captain of the starship Enterprise. But what if history has its own plan for JFK? This savage satire of American politics and Hollywood egos was written by Star Trek's most notorious scribe, David Gerrold, who also wrote Star Trek's popular "Trouble With Tribbles" episode.
Very funny "alternate history" story, in which John F. Kennedy becomes an actor instead of a politician, and ends up playing the Captain in a science fiction TV series which seems oddly familiar....
The Kennedy Enterprise is an interesting short story about what would have happened if the Kennedys went into Hollywood instead of politics. The writing style is from the viewpoint of someone who worked on the show and comes off as light and conversational. It’s a very quick read, and has a lot of funny ideas that pop through. It’s short, slight and fun, playing a bit with alternative history with a lot of little easter eggs for Star Trek fans and political junkies.
