"Your dreams are counting on you. Your future is asking you to believe, to be brave, to make it happen. The most important part of realizing a dream will always be the dreamer."
From the New York Times bestselling author of What Do You Do With an Idea? comes an all-ages picture book to awaken the dreamer in all of us. It's about the magical way dreams create opportunities, stretch our horizons, and give us a glimpse into our own potential. Featuring adorable illustrations of a loveable raccoon character, each spread holds empowering nuggets of wisdom--and beautiful encouragement to be brave, risk failure, and chase all you hope for.

Another inspiring work by Kobi, I got this one for my 10-yr-old cousin whose second language is English, and he enjoyed it. I will say, however, that apart from the reading levels, books from this author are starting to feel redundant. I’m wishing he’d venture into different territory while maintaining his uplifting sense of possibility.
One of the most, if not the most, empowering kids books I have ever read. And I’ve read quite a few!
Small book big lessons. It reminds you of the spark you lost, and that what you do and who you are (they are not the same) matter.
Got gifted this as a farewell gift as we are starting our new chapters of lives. I just straight up cried after reading this because of the messages that resonate so deeply. Beautiful writing and stunning illustration.
Already bought the other 2 of the series (with the duck and bear) and the “what you do matters” 3-book set. Love love love!!!
A book many will want to dislike, from the tweeness, from the platitudinous nature of it all, from the low word count and unfailing optimism. And yes, all that and more was on my mind when I approached this, but it is lovely. Really cute illustrations show cute young mammals on their path to their cute dreams, dashing around the world with elan, or poised on a pile of books, because they know what pleases them and what pleases them should be a priority for a change, or daring to stick their cute heads above their own personal parapets.
Never let it be said this is not cute.
The wondrous artistry in the images is still kind of necessary, however, for the reasons above – there are a gazillion self-help books with the same kind of rampant 'pipe dreams never exist, it's the opportunity that counts and only good futures await' kind of message. This had to stand out, and it pretty much does that. It does it with levity, humour and what still counts as sage advice, however much you try and put the "wear sunscreen" bloke's voice on to this to try and belittle it. I think it remains four and a half stars, mind – however great a book can get and however ahead of the opposition it might look, if it isn't an essential book does it deserve the full glories of toppest marks? Well, no – but I guess it can dream, I suppose. This one dreamt and achieved.
Do you want to feel inspired and like anything is possible?
"Chasing Dreams" does exactly that. This rare book makes you feel like you're having a conversation with your inspired self, and that you can do anything!
The beautifully crafted narrative coupled with soft illustrations that have incredible movement, are a gentle yet powerful reminder that dreams aren’t meant to be tucked away -- they’re meant to be reached for.
Whether you're about to take a first step, feeling doubt, or need a reminder that you DO have courage, this book speaks directly to all of us about:
✨ Courage over Comfort: Dreams lie just beyond what feels safe. Stepping outside our comfort zones is where magic happens.
✨ Permission to Dream Big: Our dreams don’t have to make sense to anyone else -- they only have to make sense to us.
✨ The Power of Action: Dreams begin in our imagination, but come alive when paired with bold, consistent action.
As a Leadership in Life coach, this resonated deeply with my work in supporting ambitious professionals who are navigating transitions. It’s a powerful reminder that whether you're embarking on a new adventure, pursuing a passion, or beginning to build a different future, the journey starts with belief and taking steps.
“Achte auf alles, was dein Herz berührt. Was um dich herum passiert, ist weniger wichtig als das, was in dir passiert.“ 🧡
I have already encountered Kobi Yamada's writing in the book Maybe: A Story About the Endless Potential in All of Us. Both books are full of motivation, inspiration and, above all, small important life messages that we often forget. I can't wait to continue this wonderful journey and read his next book. Recommendations for both! 5⭐️
I picked up this book because the little raccoon reminded me of a plushy I had since childhood. The book came at a perfect moment in my life, as I am finishing up my last year of graduate school. It served as a reminder that I'm doing my best even if I feel like I'm failing at everything. I enjoyed that it was a quick read, and I'm sure I'll be revisiting this book when I'm not feeling motivated or need a gentle reminder to keep chasing my dreams.
5 stars I read a digital advanced reader's copy courtesy of the publisher A book that celebrates dreams is a wonderful thing. This book does more than celebrate dreams, dreaming, and the dreamer - it is a reminder that the reader is amazing and can do amazing things in a time when the world may look bleak, this book offers hope, and joy.
Such a great book, and not just for young readers. Very motivational, and wonderful reminders to be good to yourself, try new things, and that it's okay to be scared. Just don't let the fear of failure stop you from chasing your dreams.
A reminder for all to chase your dreams even when your dreams scare you. A reminder to be brave when facing new challenges and to love those around you. A needed reminder for me in this season of life.
This series of Kobi Yamada and Charles Santoso books are some of my most treasured possessions. Encouraging and uplifting reminders for your heart, mind and soul. (No matter your age)
O texto do Yamada, é bonito, sentido, mas muito clichê Os desenhos do Santoso sao deslumbrantes, delicados, intensos, meigos, amorosos, os detalhes encantam
Very cute, and has plenty of words I could stand to remind myself of. I’ll re-read it a few times to help them sink in. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of looking at a cute baby raccoon taking on life.
There's something really powerful about putting cross something so important in such a simple manner. I'm reminded that less really is more, and that I am more than less
