Dee’s review for Breaking Kate 3.5 stars.

Are you asking yourself -Did I just read that right? Did she really just rate her own book 3.5 stars?
I know that might not be the best way to draw you into this series but I’ve always been an advocate for honest reviews. So if I’m asking for honesty from you I need to be honest with myself.
Breaking Kate is a great story but as all first time authors do, I made some mistakes. I know where I feel my inadequacies are in this story and I’ve made it my mission to grow from them. I wouldn’t hesitate to rate the rest of the books in this series 5 stars. I’ve grown, the story has grown, and the characters have evolved.
Breaking Kate is well thought out, it is consistent, it is edited, and it’s the first in a series. Breaking Kate is also long, at times wordy, and sometimes a little overkill on the sweetness factor. Breaking Kate absolutely flows better in the second half of the book than it does in the first. But that’s not to say that the first half of the book doesn’t flow…it does. Those are my own personal thoughts because I’m a horrible review giver.
Now I’m going to give you a few more thoughts. This series is about friendship, love, and loss. It's emotional, the entire series is. It is about life and real life is messy and painful. We all hope for a brighter tomorrow but we don’t always get it. This series is not just a love story between lovers, it’s also a love story between friends.
Now that the series is complete I realized I never left any reviews for myself and figured that was something I should rectify. I'm not really sure if leaving a review for myself is something I'm comfortable with but as authors we have to step out of our comfort zone often. There are four books in the series, they are erotic and meant for mature audiences. For some reason a lot of people skip book 1.5 Catching Kate. DON’T. Catching Kate is a novella told from an alternate POV. BUT it is not a rehash of anything you’ve read previously. Catching Kate is the main artery that links all four of these books together. If you skip this book you truly won’t experience this story in the way it was meant to be experienced.
Reading Order
Breaking Kate – Book One - http://bit.ly/breakingkatekindle

Catching Kate – Book 1.5 - http://bit.ly/catchingkatekindle

Releasing Kate - Book Two - http://bit.ly/releasingkatekindle

Loving Kate – Book Three - http://bit.ly/lovingkatekindle

I hope you all enjoy the series! Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. I’m always up for chatting about the books so feel free to reach out on Facebook, through my website, or message me here.

Debut Book

I cant tell you how much I loved this book. For a Debut book this is awesome.
I loved everything about it.

Katherine Moore has been friends with Michael Matthews since second grade. Later on they became Girlfriend and Boyfriend. Things are perfect until one night when everything changes and they are torn apart.

After years of being on her own, Kate(as she is known now) is sent on a blind date with Daniel. And things are about to become turned upside down again.

Ok no spoilers guys. WOW. It's been a few weeks since I've read this and I still cant stop thinking about this book.

So, what can I say that I love about this book. Beside's Everything. I loved Katherine's, Daniel's and Michael's characters. Even though I think Michael some what deserved losing Kate, you cant real blame him.

I loved that there was different point's of view. Usually I would be put off by learning the plot to the story early on in the book. But in this case it works. It works because you are always wondering what's going to happen when they all find out. And as much as you want to pick a team side I think you will be left wondering about the other side.

I was excited to see what would happen next and how it would play out between the character's once they all realised the connections.

"I love her probably just like you love Kate, but I could never be with her because she's already been with my brother - blood or no blood, we're brothers. You don't do that to your friends, but you really don't do that to your brothers. if they had never dated, though, I definitely would have asked her out." - Connor and Daniel

I read this book in one go. And as much as I couldn't wait to see what happened next i didn't want to get to the end.

I really cant wait for the next book to see how it play's out. I think the style of writing and the pace was spot on. There is nothing I would of said to do differently.

Dee is super talented in the way she has wrote this book. I would of expected her to be a seasoned author and can only predict great things for her.

If there is one book you can buy this month, it has to be this one. It pulled my emotions on this book. I cried, laughed, sighed, no matter the emotion I felt it.

Dee, this book is Stunning. It's exceptionally written. Its has amazing character's and the plot is fantastic.

I CANT WAIT for more. more. more.

I give this 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

I was gifted a copy of this book purchased by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Katherine and Michael met in 2nd grade and have been inseparable ever since. Right before they are to start college, tragedy strikes and tears them apart.

Fast forward 3 years. Katherine goes by Kate. She has kept her heart protected by never allowing any man into her life, except as a friend. Kate and her BFF Jess live together and are Srs in college. Jess is the only one who knows all that Kate has been through and is fiercely protective. A guy Kate met at college, Connor, has become like a brother to her. A few people know she was badly hurt by Michael.

Michael now goes by Mike. He has spent the last few years having rough sex with any willing woman. He still loves Kate, so he refuses to care about any of the women he meets. Mr One-night-stand. Mike tells his good friend Daniel how he feels about Katherine and that he intends to work on winning her back.

Connor fixes Kate up with Daniel. They fall in love within a few minutes of meeting. She tells him a little about Michael and how he hurt her. No one puts together that Katherine is Kate and Michael is Mike.

From then on, the book becomes totally unbelievable. I believe in coincidence but this was ridiculous! As Kate meets Daniel's family and Connor's family it seems everone is really all related and/or interconnected in some way. The connections go back to before Kate and Mike were born and on to present day. I felt like I was reading Science Fiction it was so bizarre. Also, the dialogue was over the top. The book could have been 200 pages less and told the same story.

I wouldn't recommend this book. It is simply too absurd.

First off, holy plot twist and cliffhanger!!!
D. Kelly had me hooked from the first words all the way to the end. I had a hard time breaking away and living in real world.
I loved watching the love grow between Daniel and Kate. It's a type of love everyone wants. The type of love that heals broken hearts and makes you feel whole. I went through the whole book with a love/hate feeling for Mike.
I loved all the different POVs. You got to "read" inside everyone's head. D. Kelly did a great job keeping their personalities in check. No matter which POV you were reading everyone's good and bad characteristics stayed the same.
The emotions where so incredible in Breaking Kate. You could feel the love, lost, anger, lust, and heartbreak.
I can't wait to read more! I am hooked on this series

4.5 stars

This was a definite 4.5 read for me. I devoured this book in one sitting. It is a very well thought-out story that progresses nicely. D.Kelly writes her characters with emotion and sincerity that makes them very likeable.

Katherine and Michael are the perfect high school sweethearts, both from wealthy families, (their fathers are business partners) they have the world at their feet. Everyone knows that they will become husband and wife and life couldn’t get any better for them. Then, an unthinkable tragedy happens and it rips them apart. Michael is devastated and breaks Katherine’s heart in two, leaving her to pick up the pieces of her life alone.

Years later, Kate is finally ready to live her life again. Kate and her best friend Jess are finishing up their college careers and Kate is finally finding some peace. Connor, Kate’s best guy friend invites her and Jess to a party so Kate can meet (and be set up with) his good friend Daniel. They hit if off immediately and have a whirlwind romance. It is the kind of romance little girls dream of, trust me, Daniel is the real deal.

Daniel and Connor’s friend Mike is a good guy that got the short end of the stick handed to him in his last relationship, they guys don’t know much about it, but they do know that his ex, Katherine, must have really done a number on him. Mike confides in Daniel that he wants to make amends with Katherine, that he believes he was wrong about her all those years ago.

When all the friends meet at the engagement party for Jake and April, all holy hell breaks loose when Daniel’s Kate is Mike’s Katherine and Daniel’s friend Mike is Kate’s Michael. Don’t worry… there is more. This is a great book with twists and turns that I didn’t even see coming.

I can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment of the series. If you don’t like cliff hangers I suggest you wait till all the books are out, but will be missing out on an amazing story right now. Great job D. Kelly

Every now and then I read a book that drags me by the throat and screams 'what would you do????' This is one of those amazing books, the entire time the story is being set up making you emotionally involved with the characters waiting for the explosion. Boom the explosion came and I was shouting at my Kindle making my husband jump a mile. D.Kelly is an amazing writer, however, there is clearly an evil side to her that enjoys torturing readers - you can't leave the story there!! I need to know what happens!!

Katherine and Michael are best friends and high school sweethearts, destined for a life together until a terrible incident one night rips them and their families apart. Left on their own Mike becomes a man whore that can't trust women choosing to never be close to anyone again. Kate buries herself in studying and volunteering for 3 years until her friends finally set her up with Daniel. Not expecting the instant attraction to Daniel Kate is blown away by the depth of her feelings after such a short time. Daniel's best friend Mike is going through a hard time trying to mend his ways finally opening up about his lost love Katherine, Daniel encourages him to contact her. None of their group realise that Daniel's friend Mike is Kate's ex Michael. Will any of them be able to salvage their feelings and what will the future hold for them all.

The whole book is an emotional roller coaster ride with new levels being added right up until the end. I need to know what happens next.

I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for the next one. I'll certainly be looking out for more titles by this amazing author.

Here's the thing: I've never been good at leaving reviews because 1) I ramble (especially if I really like the book) and 2) I don't want to give anything away!

I'm kind of obsessed with this book. There's something to be said for an author writing a story that I can't get out of my head -- I finished it ~two weeks ago, and I'm still thinking about it.

Y'all -- the swoon level is off the charts! Especially when you get to the last, I don't know, third of the book?? I am #teamDaniel, all the way. Even though they aren't together all that long (the book isn't over a long timeframe), their passion for each other is all consuming. Even though you KNOW crap is going to hit the fan at one point or another, you're still like -- Oh, I l-o-v-e you two together!!!

The heat level is intense, the romance will make you sigh, the friendships that encompass the band of friends is multi-level and multi-faceted. There are plot twists that will make your jaw drop, not to mention an ending that will make you tweet your aggravation or throw your Kindle (not that I did either, haha!) because it's just THAT good, and unexpected.

Go. Now. And read this book. NOW. :)

The first time I heard of Dee Kelly was through a meet and greet for authors and bloggers. She offered her book for an honest review..
Well she is an exceptional writer. Kate and Mike were to love each other for the rest of their life but one night it all ended when Mike father died one night and Mike blamed everything on her. I took her three year to get her life straightened out and then one day she meet Daniel and she was drawn to him. They saw each other for two weeks and thought they would be together for the rest of their lives until the faithful day that Mike walked back in her life and Daniel was his friend all those year after Kate and now there is tension between them all,but the only thing she can do is run. But there is a kicker, there is one threatening both Daniel and Mike and Kate is in the middle....Now with that said you have to read the book. You will fall in love with Kate and Daniel. Will their love for one another be able to save them both? It is a recommend must read...

It was a privilege to it only receive an ARC but to also beta read for D. Kelly! I love these characters! I just finished my second read and I have such a hangover wondering what's going to happen next. Kate and Daniel are so sweet together, but Mike has down redemption deep down, I can tell. So many twists, you will be blind sides a few times! Big props to D Kelly for being able to keep track of this tangled web to write it so smoothly! I'm caught... ;) on board for the long hall!

Love this book! Every word flowed beautifully! This book has it all! Just when they think they have it all figured out, a think called LIFE comes along to ruin it. This book kept me on the edge of the pages. I can not wait to find out what happens next! I truly enjoyed the writing style of D. Kelly.

I knew be for I sat down this was going to be one of those books that blow my mind away. Let me tell you as soon as I sat down and started reading to book is was hooked . I lost all rack of time because the more you read this book the more it drawls you. Instead of reading a book it felt like I was in a movie. This book pulled so hard on my heart string so many times . This book is full a lot of emotional roller coasters of emotions that at times was so strong it had me gasping. I fell in love with all most at all the characters in this book . But their are a few I would like to give a good kick in the butt to. The sexual chemistry in this book is so hot it should come with it's own warning label. The men in this book are smoking hot .

Kate lost her mother at a young age and her father never was around much. But Kate had her best friend Jess and Michael . The thought she had it all until the night Michael Dad died. That when her life as she know is change for ever. Because that night she lost the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with. But he tell her it her and her father fought her father is dead he tell her he want nothing ever to do with her. She try to get him to talk to her but it not use because he want nothing to do with her. As time and years go by her best friend Jess is their to help her get back on track. She decide to go to school and focus on her school work and helping others. While at school she meet Connor and becomes great friends . He think of Kate as a little sister. Connor decided to have a party and invited Jess and Kate to his party where he promise Kate that he has the man to take every thing off her mind for a night. She cant tell Connor no so she goes and what she find is one man she want to get to know more than any thing. the more her and Daniel talk it like they know each other their whole life. After one night of talking and a few hot kisses she know she has to have more of him. But the past has a way of coming back and kicking when you least plan it to.

Daniel is one of the sweetest kindest man you will ever meet . He has slept with a good amount of women but he has always treated right . But his ex girlfriend did a real number on his heart so he has problem trusting and letting women in. But when Connor called and asked him to come to his party and meet a female friend of his . He want to tell him no but when Connor ask for a favor he cant say no. So he goes and what he find is the women he thinks he want to marry. After one night of talking and kissing . He knows he need to find out more about her .

Michael try's to move on from Kate. He thinks as time goes he will for get her . But what times has done is make him want her more. So he try's to use other women to keep her out of his mind . He does get a job working with one of his friend dad company and work his way up the company. But all along he in his own hell because he cant stop thinking about Kate. But after talking with his friend about her he decide to track her down and see if she will give him a second shot.

Their is so much more juiciness to this that I could not share because this book is a must have to read book . I cant want to read more from this author in the future.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review, yeah, blah blah blah. Yeah, I don’t normally add those to my reviews, but there’s a story to this one. I received an email with multiple blog tour sign ups, and I was reading the synopsis for some of them. I wasn’t actually going to sign up for this one, but as I laid in bed that night trying to fall asleep, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I was like “This must mean something.” I signed up and now that I’ve read it… it was like the spirit of Dee Kelly telling me to read her book.
Katherine Moore thought she had found love in Michael Matthews, her best friend since second grade. They had their future all planned out, they were going to go to college together, graduate and get married. That all changed in an instant when Michael’s father is killed and everyone turns the blame on Katherine and her father.
Four years later, Katherine is now known as Kate, is a double major at UCLA, and has three friends, if you count Marc. When her best friend Jess finally convinces her to go out and meet a guy, she will forever be grateful, for she has just met that man of her dreams.
Daniel McCormick is still suffering from the effects of a relationship that ended six months ago. His best friend Connor convinces him to go out and meet a girl at a party he’s hosting. Now Daniel owes Connor, because he just met the woman of his dreams.
It’s a love at first sight type of relationship, and it’s moving fast. They are totally in love with each other and aren’t expecting the ball to drop two weeks into their relationship.
I’m still reeling from the ending of this book! It ends of a semi-cliffhanger, nothing too bad, so it’s up to you whether or not you’re going to read it. But I definitely recommend this book, and the whole series should hopefully be out by the end of the year.
Not only is this book full of sweetness, this book has some pretty hot sex scenes. Yeah, I’d probably put this not only in the contemporary romance genre, but the erotica section of Amazon as well. I was quite surprised by the steam factor; I expected sweet, lovey-dovey sex. What I got was some panty-melting, hot eroticism.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. From the synopsis, I knew what was going to happen, but I just didn’t know when it’d strike. It happened abruptly, which is good. I didn’t have time to prepare. Well, I did. I have a habit of skimming a page before I read. I know, I know. I need to stop that.
Dee Kelly gets five stars from me, with a promise that I will snag a paperback at some point in my life. I will also meet her, get her autograph, and a picture. Oh, and just so you know, I’m #TeamDaniel4Ever.
Dee Kelly, this was a fantastic novel. I am waiting ever so impatiently for more work from you. You have earned my undying support and promises of pimping you out on my blog. Congratulations! I loved every minute of it.

Breaking Kate introduces us to Michael and Katherine. They are young and in love. talking about their future. When out of the blue tragedy strikes. Michael and his family suffer a tragic event and it causes Michael to make a very rash decision that he later regrets. Michael's actions make me want to climb into the book and kick his butt, he's such a idiot! Michael takes his anger and hurt out on Katherine, and he ends it with her; the way he does it is soo nasty and spiteful.

Then we jump forward 3 years and Katherine; Kate, is at college; almost finished; and she is still hurting over Michael. Jess is Kate's best friend, she's been there for Kate the whole time helping her to survive. Jess like Connor; who is a friend of both girls, and Connor likes Jess. Jess and Connor manage to talk Kate into going to a party where they want to try and set her up with Daniel; Connor's friend.

Kate and Daniel have an instant spark of attraction and something more. Daniel is loving, caring, patient and extremely understanding. Kate and Daniel's relationship go from strength to strength and their love grows stronger. But we all know something has to happen, right?

I guess you'll just have to read it find out!!

When Mike turns up and everyone realizes that Mike is Michael, my heart breaks a little for Daniel. When Kate leaves and goes home leaving Daniel and everyone else behind my heart breaks some more for Daniel. I could feel his turmoil and I got the impression he was scared. I think that Kate needs to get closure on what happened with her and Michael, the only way she can do that is to speak to Michael.

For a debut book I think Dee has done an amazing job. Breaking Kate is written from multiple POV's, and it works well, there is no confusion over who's POV I was reading and I got a feel for each character and their thoughts and feelings and it made the book more realistic for me. Dee's writing style is so easy to read and its fluent.

Dee had me hooked from the start, I was hanging on each and every word. Even now I've read the book I'm still hanging, why? because of the ending, it's a cliffhanger and I'm itching for book #2. The ending had me practically shouting at my kindle, It's so unfair. My only piece of comfort is that because it took me so long to get to reading Breaking Kate I won't have to wait so long for book #2.

Dee has done a fantastic job of ensuring that her writing exudes the feelings of the characters so that as a reader I felt as though I was experiencing them too. I don't know about anyone else but I loved this book, and I'm looking forward to book #2.

I just hope that Kate doesn't give up what she has with Daniel. Mike had his chance and blew it by being a complete idiot!!!

I'M TEAM DANIEL!!! :)

Ok so I now have to find a way to draw you all into this book without giving things away!! Ugh how about I just say this.. It's in my top 20!!
Ok let's start with the writing style that Dee Kelly has, it's awesome and it draws you into this story from the very beginning. You learn the story from all parties involved and never once did it feel overwhelming like it sometimes can when you have multiple POVs given, not this time I felt connected to all the characters even if they were supporting!
Ok so here's my thoughts with out giving any spoilers away...
Katherine had her life mapped out from the ripe old age of about 6 when she knows she is going to marry her best friend Michael, he's her everything, her first everything too, first love, first boyfriend, first lover. She knew in her bones they would be together forever. But forever didn't really have it in her cards for Katherine and Michael, in one instant one night her world came crashing down.
Fast forward a few years and Kate is now going to graduate college soon with a double major and has no heart left for a relationship that was taken from her when Michael left her.. Until her BFF Jess takes her to a friends party, she comes face to face with her other half. You can literally feel the pull from the pages that they feel for each other. Daniel is like no one she's ever met before, he's handsome and loving, caring and compassionate, sexy and alpha all in one hot package! They are both coming out of their post break up depression and spark something in one another that no one else has for them. 2 weeks is all it took to fall in love, promises of forever are made but can the past remain the past forever or will it come face to face with the present and all that Daniel and Kate want out of life.
Mike has stumbled through women and beds trying to forget the girl he threw away. One night he got a whiff of her and all the memories he saves for the times he's alone or before he goes to bed rear their ugly head and force him to rethink his life choices. He's got his friends, his brothers , to rely on to get his girl back.. Will she take him back will she forgive the love he threw away?
I can't say this enough read it you will love it!!

I finished this book about 6 hours ago and couldn't think of what to write for a review. This was one of those books when I got to the end I had so many emotions running through me I couldn't even think straight enough to put words to them.
It starts out with Katherine and Michael best friends since second grade, a couple since high school, the perfect love. they are planning to get married and live happily ever after. Until one tragic night when Michael breaks her heart, well actually shatters her heart.Even 3 years later she is just getting over the pain she suffered at the break up. When her best friend Jess and Connor talk her into coming to a party to meet one of Connor's friends, Kate fights them all the way she isn't ready she has to much going on in her life and they pretty much guilt her into going. Her life is about to change, shes meets Daniel and its like they have known each other all their lives. Kate can feel her heart start to click back together.
So much has happened in Kate's life from her mother dying when she was ten, to her father never giving her the time of day. To other things I won't give away. Just when things seem to be coming back together everything from the past rushes in to destroy what she has made for herself.
this book blew me away, from the character development and the thoughts and feeling of everyone of them. Kate is a strong person and has a maturity about her that few her age have. Just about the time you get comfortable with where Kate's life is going you learn something new about her past and you wonder how she even kept it together as well as she did.
D.Kelly does an awesome job with all the different POV'S you know what everyone's thoughts and feelings are through out the book.
I fell in love with Daniel and thought he was perfect for Kate, and as much as Michael hurt her, I think anger and grief is what motivated him so he isn't as bad as he seems. But the past always has a way of catching up with all of us. Looking forward to the next book with all the characters to see where all this goes.

Wow, is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Breaking Kate. Hats off to D. Kelly, for doing such an amazing job writing from multiple POVs. She not only managed to tell essentially one story through multiple eyes but she did so in a way that was flawless and melded together nicely.
With that said, Breaking Kate could put any Jerry Springer episode to shame. There is a very intricate web filled with love, loss, grief, and drama. Michael and Katherine were set to be married and through unforeseen tragic events he broke her heart leaving her without another glance. Michael misses Katherine and tries to fill the void that only she can fill with countless other women just looking for his next conquest. Then there is Kate (who is Katherine) She is still heartbroken years after Michael devastated her and walked out of her life for good. Kate is a home body and has dedicated herself to her education. She lives with her best friend Jess who is like the sister that she never had, they had been through everything together and they would do anything for each other; which is where this story really starts to take off. Now this is a tricky web so try and stay with me. Jess (the BFF) is interested in Connor who is also friends with Kate (that’s how they met); Connor has a friend that he just knows will hit it off with Kate reluctantly she agrees to go to Connor’s party to support her best friend just like she had done for her many times over. What Kate didn’t count on was finding someone (Daniel) that she could really connect with after Michael broke her heart. Now here’s the kicker…. Michael, Kate, Connor, Jess, and Daniel all know each other… BUT…. They don’t know that right away… By now your interest is peaked and there is only one thing left to do, so what are you waiting for stop what you’re doing and pick up this book, you won’t be disappointed.

~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~

This book blew me away! The book starts out three years in the past and then joins to present time. We meet childhood sweethearts Michael and Katherine. Together since elementary school they are destined to be together forever, until one tragic event changes everything. After three years of hell and being pushed to go to a party with her best friend Jess, Kate finally feels like living again. Her reason to live again is Daniel. Daniel and Kate have instant chemistry, they fall hard and they fall fast. Life couldn’t get any better until they are all at an engagement party for a mutual friend. Kate’s past, is standing right in front of her in the form of Michael. This book was an amazing story, of loss, love, friendship and passion. There is a cliffhanger and we don’t know what will happen next but I can’t wait to read the next book. I can only hope I don’t have to wait too long and I hope there aren’t several books before there is finally a Happily Ever After. I will read the next book, Catching Kate #1.5 but I really want book #2 and to see what happens and who gets their HEA.

Characters: The characters were well written, likeable and believable. They remind you of your own friends and family.

Sex: yes and holy crap on a cracker is it HOT

Religious: briefly mentioned

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: Romance

Would I read more by this author: yes

WOW!! This was such a great book!! It had me from the first few pages and I didn't want to put it down even though I have been sick with the flu. I just can't get enough!!

When the book started I loved the relationship between Katherine and Michael. They were so in love and destined to be together forever but soon their world comes crumbling down and I can't believe Michael turned his back on Katherine the way he did.

It has been almost 4 years and Katherine now known as Kate is still broken and trying to heal. Her best friend Jess is finally able to talk her into going to a party where she meets Daniel. I loved Daniel!! He was so sweet and caring when it came to Kate. Their relationship takes off fast but she knows she has finally met her soul mate. She knows without a doubt that if she had still been with Michael and met Daniel there would be no comparison, he was her future.

Michael now known as Mike is broken himself. Since his relationship with Kate ended he has been sleeping his way thru women. He knows without a doubt that leaving Kate was the worst mistake he has ever made. One night while out of town he decides he has to do whatever possible to get her back no matter what the costs.

Just when everything in her world seems to be going the way it should things hit the fan!! How will Kate take seeing Mike after all these years? Will she choose to still be with Daniel? OMG, I am asking so many questions but I need to know it all NOW!! And just when you think the twists and turns are complete, here comes another turn in the road.

Gahhhh!!!! I will be stalking you Mrs. Kelly waiting for the next book!!! :)

Utterly crushed.  This is the only way that I can find to describe the feeling I had when I turned the last page of this amazing book.  I was trying to put off the inevitable and slowly read the last few pages.  For her debut novel I would say that she has successfully captured my attention as a reader.

My heart and soul were broken for Kate she was squashed and smashed and left in pieces by Michael.  It was so devastating that I almost feel like he deserved to be tortured just a little for the way he handled everything.

There were so many twists and they were not expected nor predictable.   Jess is the rock stars of all friends.  She's there for Kate through thick and thin and drags her to a party to get her out of her funk.

Conner is uber sweet even though he tries to be the "playboy".  I honestly thought that he and Kate would hook up and figure out they were better friends.  Knowing what I know now, I'm glad that wasn't the case.

Daniel is "The" guy the one that makes you think it's too god to be true, the one that you think is going to fast and just wants to get of Veronica the super bitch, the one that jumped in heart first and you wonder if that's really honest or lustful.  Although I am very much Team Daniel.  He won me over.

Book 2 can not come fast enough and I don't care if it costs $29.99, I will be the first crazy girl in line to purchase it just to see how Kate deals with the messy tangle of people that she intertwined with.  If your looking for a book that is sweet, suspenseful, loving, and heart wrenching look no further this is it.

I would like to say, WOW! INCREDIBLE!! This is D. Kelly’s debut novel and WOW!! She wrote an amazing book. Breaking Kate took me on one emotional ride from the laughing to crying to laughing again, with a little frustration and some smoking hot, erotic scenes. This book has everything a reader could want. It has wonderful characters, great plot, and a little action. It’s a book that has friendship, family, romance, heartbreak, love, and mystery. The plot has some twist that you don’t see coming and keep one guessing.
In the beginning, the reader is introduced to Katherine and Michael. They are so in love and have a bright future ahead of them. However, they experience a tragedy that tears them apart. This tragedy not only comes between them, but also leaves them broken. They both move on with their lives separately trying to pick up the pieces and heal. It takes a while, but they do. Just when things start to look up for both of them, they hit a major twist in the road. They are pulled back together, just not in a way you see coming.
D. Kelly crafted an amazing story. It pulled me in from the start and didn’t let go till the end. This book hooked me because of the characters and the journey they go through. Not only the main character, but the secondary characters, as well. They truly help make the book more. I can’t wait to see what she has planned next for these characters and the series.

Review: I was given a complimentary copy of Breaking Kate by Pretty lil’ page turners blog for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this debut novel. I think that D. Kelly did a wonderful job and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. I couldn’t put this book down and when I did I was thinking about it and what would happen next. Katherine (Kate) hasn’t had it easy. She’s known Michael since she was in the 2nd grade. They grew up together and thought they would be together forever. When Michael’s father dies, Katherine gets blamed for something’s that happen that she didn’t know about. Michael leaves her. She is heartbroken and for the next three years she is trying to move on with her life but is always thinking that Michael will come back. Kate is almost done with college and her best friend Jessica and friend Connor want her to come to a party and meet Daniel. When they meet there is an instant connection. They spend the evening together under the stars. It’s magical. There are a lot of things that happen which I don’t want to give away. There are many events actually but it makes the book worth reading. There is a cliffhanger. Which aren’t my favorite but I still loved this book and can’t wait for the next one. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

Wow.. is what I have to say about D. Kelly's book Breaking Kate. I received this book as part of a tour and from the first few pages I was hooked to this wonderful story of love over a period of time.

The story starts off with Katherine Moore (Kate as she uses this name later in life and in the story) and Michael Matthews. Both Micheal and Kate have been in love with each other since the second grade. I'm sure by now that you have the background on this story by reading other reviews so I'm just going to pass the storyline here and go with my feelings of this book.

This book is about having a great love, then losing this love due to a tragedy that occurs and years later being reunited with the great love that you once new. This also has a love triangle in it because another man comes into Kate's life Daniel and it's all's fair in love and war.

I have to say that the author wrote this book with a great idea in putting the paper to the pen with this story, and yes there is a cliffhanger, so I like everyone else will have to wait and see what happens next in this series.

If you are in the mood for a wonderful story with an emotional roller coaster? Look no further! Get those tissus ready ladies because you will NOT STOP CRYING! I absolutely LOVED this book and this series. This is the story of a couple in love. Their lives get shattered in a split second and everything they think is not as it seems. They go through years in pain and suffering without each other. Until Kate finally starts to pick up the pieces of her life and meets Daniel. Talk about Insta-Love! They go from meeting to falling in love within a matter of minutes (or so it seems). There's a huge twist though, will Daniel be able to keep Kate or will they struggle in their new relationship?

All I can say is get on it and pick up this series. Seriously fabulous! There is a cliffy but you are lucky since Releasing Kate has been released. Catching Kate is Mike's side which you need to read because you will fall in love with Mike more than you ever thought possible. Will you be #TEAMMIKE or #TEAMDANIEL?

Katherine/Kate and Michael are in love and about to start college. Tragedy strikes and they break up. Three years later, Kate meets Daniel and they fall for each other fast. Also, Michael wants Katherine back.

This book is awesome! Kate goes through so much. Michael breaks up with her instead of proposing to her. I think his reasons for breaking up with her are weak. He just seems like a jerk to me.

Three years later, Kate meets Daniel. He is an awesome, romantic and gorgeous guy. They have a hot and heavy relationship and they fall for each other very fast. There are many surprises that happen and Kate goes through more heavy things.

The writing is wonderful and the story is interesting. I really like Kate. I can't wait to read more and find out what happens to her. I really hope that she eventually gets a happy ending.

Absolutely awesome story.

I love the authors writing style. It is so beautiful and easy to read and enjoy. The story brings a lot of different emotions. I laughed, cried, I was angry and for sure loved and got attached to the story.

Breaking Kate delivers fully. The book ends up with a cliffhanger so now we have to wait to see what will the next one bring.

Captivating and intriguing with quite a few twists and turns and surprises, Breaking Kate is a fabulous debut novel that you wouldn´t want to put down.

This is such a great book. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the twist and turns. I couldn't put this book down.
I read it it one night. I loved the friendship between Katherine and Jess. They are more like sisters then friends. This started
out as a love story until tragedy strikes. Katherine gets her heart broke. It takes her years before she dates again. This book has
love, heartbreak, romance and plenty of twist and turns. It has one heck of cliff hanger. It is a must read. I can't wait until
the next book comes out. I give it 5 stars.

Prologues was terrible leading into a terrible first paragraph of chapter 1. Not a good start. I just didn’t like any characters besides Saint Kate. Daniel was okay but this is super instant love like 1 night. Not going to complete this series. Who cares who she decides to go with. I wouldn’t even bother.
