This is an instructive book about the first 8 weeks in a puppy's life and includes the various stages they go through before they are old enough to be separated from their mother.

The narrative is simple, with very short sentences and large color photos that show what is going on at each stage of their life.

With limited background details, the book appears timeless. At least, until the last few pages when a young girl wearing acid-wash denim shorts enters the scene. And then you know that the images live firmly in 1990.

Still, it's a terrific book and a great way to explain about the development of baby animals, in this case puppies.

This is another book I found we'd kept from way back when. Originally I was going to just give it to charity, but then realized my friend's kids might like it. So I re-read it to judge if it was appropriate for them. It is.

A nice little book, with lovely picture to accompany the words.

I learned how puppies grow, learn to walk, play with others, how their takes care of her little ones, and when the best time to get a puppy is. Children in first grade can learn a lot about puppies from this book (I say 1st grade because younger kids may not really understand the concept of a week). In just the first couple weeks, puppies learn to do many things.
