My favorite part of this book is that it's do-able. Richardson gives brief daily readings that don't overwhelm you with content and gives you a daily task to implement (determine what is a "definite yes" to you, organize your ideal work space, etc.) The tasks are all worth pursuing. But after a while, I found myself just reading the daily reading and not really implementing anything. I didn't feel like I was building up a habit of self-care, so much as learning about 21 possible different activities for self-care. I'm not sure entirely what the difference is, but by the end of the 21 days I didn't feel like I had learned a new habit. And I'm not sure what makes these activities indicative of "extreme" self-care. I enjoyed the book and have new ideas about things to do for self-care but for me, the title over-promises what the book actually delivered.
Great book! Full of wonderful and helpful insight. Could relate to so many of the examples throughout the book. Looking forward to applying the principles to my life.
