this book is very easy to read and understand. Very informative. It is, however, in question and answer from. I was hoping for more of a narrative of her personal story and struggles. But she did good research and gives many statistics and facts. I would recommend to anyone considering the gastric sleeve.
I am a gastric sleeve patient that fell off the rails and developed a hiatal hernia that had to be repaired. When I first had the surgery, I lost the weight, but did not do the things to keep it off. I downloaded this book years ago, but just read it now. This time I will do right by my body, and this book will always be close at hand.
If you are considering vertical sleeve gastrectomy and have questions about the entire process, then this book is a must read. She answered so many questions I had and I learned what to expect for my surgery and post operation lifestyle. (Of course it varies from doctor to doctor but at least I have an idea) I feel more confident going forward.
This is a really helpful start to finish guide on what to expect. It would be great if it went a little more into the emotional aspects and what to expect through the process, but I really liked the nutritional information.
This book is a short quick read, with great information on what to expect post-op from someone who has had the surgery. I am 3 days post-op and found this book helpful in calming my nerves and setting my expectations for weight loss.
Covered all the bases in this topic. Very informative and positive. Talked about pros and cons of surgery. Very helpful if you're trying to decide if surgery is right for you.
This has a lot of helpful information about the VSG process, before and after surgery! I highly recommend reading if you are trying to decide if WLS is right for you.
This book answered a lot of questions I have about the sleeve gastrectomy ,and some I didn't know I had. Pennie Nicola was clear and concise in how the sleeve affected her and how things could be different.
This book is very informative and helpful. I particularly enjoyed how she wrote about the different weight loss surgeries and compared each one to the sleeve surgery.
An informing opinion about having bariatric sleeve surgery and life afterwards. I found it alleviated my anxiety about having this surgery. I know her journey will be different from mine, yet her perspective gave me some insight. I appreciate the honesty.
Excellent book for someone thinking about VSG surgery. Having already having had it much of the information was not that helpful to me. Still a good read
I felt like I was sitting down with my best friend and she was telling me about her experience. She didn’t leave anything out and explained everything so clearly
This was very well written and easy to read. Medical issues were explained in a way I could understand. Suggestions were made in a way that I could implement in my own life. I feel less anxious about the whole process. Looking forward to surgery day now!
I enjoyed The Sleeved Life. I bought it while in pre-op but read it during post-op. There is a lot of very useful information and I think it's a good read for any stage of the process. There are quite a few passages that I highlighted for motivation.
Preparing for My Own Sleeved Life, I Found This Book Very Helpful
I needed to learn how the Gastric Sleeve procedure would affect my life and this book was very helpful. The author writes in a conversational manner which made it seem like I'm learning from a friend.
Everyone who plan to have a vertical sleeve surgery must read this excellent book! I was very sad after my surgeon advise me to do the vertical sleeve, but now I think he was right to decide this method for me.
