Araya Crush has suffered another broken heart after falling for Hale again, and she has started all over once more. But fate is meddling in her will to stay away this time, making it almost impossible to push her feelings aside. Her full blood hasn't given up his rights to her either, and she finds herself constantly falling into his consoling arms. Seeking closure from one, finding love from the other, her heart struggles with the twisted, relentless game of tug of war, while a war is promising to be eminent.
The hybrid queen of interrogation is back! Never again. She’s done swimming in a pool of pain for nothing. Fate, however, is a brutal bitch. She makes it nearly impossible to let her choose between Hale or Brazen. She loves them both, and she fucking wish she didn’t. Destiny is unrelenting and nonnegotiable, and sometimes people get caught in the crossfire. The curse of the forgotten. This series is getting more and more exciting. A lot happens in this book — one big twist after another — and this is the freakiest of all love triangles!
« It’s just the blood. It’s just the blood… Please, God, let it be just because of the blood. »
Majority of book was sex. It got old fast. I also HATE the wishy-washy relationship Araya has with Hale and Brazen. JUST PICK ONE! She went back and forth too much. It was exhausting to read, even worse than the first. I will not be continuing on with this series.
Side note: The use of that drug over and over, back to back by Hale and Araya and the kids and to knock out the full bloods... am I picky to be bothered by it? If someone really needs that much medicine to stay normal, then maybe they should remove themselves from the situation.
At this point, I wish Araya would stop seeing Hale or Brazen and would stay away.

The next exciting chapter of the Curse trilogy by CM Owens. I've re-read this story along with others from this author, and I keep loving them. They have supernatural elements, along with amazing hot romance. If you haven't read anything by this author, I urge you to take a chance...You will not go wrong and you'll continue to read anything by this author.
Around page 440, I started skimming. The drama gets a little monotonous and it's a constant back and forth between Araya, Brazen, and Hale....I just wanted to find out what the next major plot twist was and move on. Book 2 reads exactly like book 1, so expect the same level of steam, drama, and gore.
General Gist, with major spoiler:
--Rating - 3 stars - quite monotonous, lots of drama this book. --Steam - 4 stars - same level of steam as book 1. Yummy! --Storyline - 3 stars - despite the well developed storyline in between major moments, I thought it took too long to get to the point. --Plot twists - 3 stars - pretty major for the story, but we knew something was off with what information we were begin given, so you're definitely expecting it. --Emotional Pull - 2 stars - no crying here, but lots of aggravated moments. very frustrating at times too. --Writing - 3 stars - comfortable to read, but still a lot of missing words and a few misspellings. --Denouement - n/a really --Cliffhanger? - yes --HEA? - no, definitely not right now
*For those with triggers: there is an attempted rape scene towards the end, so be leery if that's a trigger for you.
the plot got a little better during this one. the smut was toned down a bit compared to the first book. I'm not super invested in this series however I'm invested enough to continue just to see which man she ends up with.
The plot of the second book was way better than book one. Added with additional new characters, exciting discovery on Araya’s unique blood and also about her parents. And as usual, the ending gave us an insight into what to come in the final book, and I couldn’t help but try guessing who the girl was. Could it be Alex? Did she ever give blood to her?
Sooooo... My head hurts. Now I really do love this story which is why I’m reading it a second time. But as I am rereading I kind of just poke my eyes out at times. Like the constant push and pull between Araya, Hale, and Brazen is getting to be too much. Like Hale keeps intentionally hurting Araya to protect her. How do you think that would work? Serisouly. And then Brazen really doesn’t stand a chance as long as Hale is in the picture in any way shape or form. He literally could blow on Araya the wrong way and she be like I’m done with you. So my only conclusion is Araya as a magical vajayjay and it has ensnared Any who finds pleasure in it, I.e. Hale and Brazen.
Now it’s nice to re-remember details i definitely forgot since it’s been like 3 years I think since I’ve read this series though. Finding out Nicholas is her father and Angelica is her sister. Or that Araya’s blood allows full bloods to walk in the sun. I think I’m just really ready for book 3 because that’s where the goods are at. I mean thus far it’s been their triangle drama with some other craziness thrown in but in third book thinks get crunk and I can’t wait for it.
I absolutely love the entire trilogy, and I love the way she writes! I liked that she kept all of the sex very "sexual" without being too graphic or disgusting even. But, I only rated 4 stars because there was just too much sex and not enough story. I bet that adout 70% of the story is sex. Like I said though, I truly love the story and her writing.
The second installment brings a few more twists and secrets into play, but the story line remains the same! Same dramatic love-triangle brilliantly written which, in my opinion, was intentional to make the end of the story impossible to predict!!!
3.5 stars. This book in the series had enough storyline for me. I was hoping that the love triangle situation was resolved in this book...hopefully in the last book. I did like that some secrets were revealed. Decent book overall.
As mad as I am at Hale, I still cannot choose between Him or Brazen. same question: Why choose? Fate, however, makes it nearly impossible to let Araya choose. That is not all...
They are surrounded by conflict beyond all their control, or is it...
I fell in love with the characters immediately! C.M. Owens give you the perfect amount of action, romance, and drama without over doing it! I want more of this trilogy!
