Caden Robb is a survivor. After arriving in Rocky Lake, Arizona, Caden found a home for the first time in his life. He’s bonded and forged a close friendship with two other young men that introduced him to age regression. Now all Caden needs is to find the right Daddy that has the patience to help Caden through his past trauma.
For six months, Lincoln Daniels, narcotics detective, has been visiting Rocky Lake Coffeehouse to lay eyes on the small, shy barista that called to every Daddy instinct Lincoln possesses. Caden is barely able to speak to Lincoln on most days, so how is Lincoln going to show Caden what he has to offer?
When dangerous drugs hit the streets and a cartel threatens the residents of Rocky Lake, Lincoln has his work cut out keeping not only Caden safe but everyone around him. It will take help from new friends to save Caden when the threat hits too close to home.
This book contains MM sexual content (men having sex with each other), Age Play, Daddy/little relationship, ABDL, and age gap relations. This book is an exploration of a relationship between two (male) consensual adults that are looking for love and acceptance. All characters are over the age of consent. No cheating or cliffhangers.
Book safety, content warnings, and tropes & tags down below. “What’s all this?” Caden’s arms were overflowing with stuffed animals. “Brave Heart needs to meet his family!” Caden informed him. “That way he knows he’s not all alone anymore.” Lincoln had been a cop for over twenty years. He was good at putting pieces together, and Caden’s worry of the lion being lonely spoke volumes.
I’m pretty sure Athena Steller wrote the first age play book I ever read, and now she’s started a new series that I can imagine being one of my future favorite age play series. This one was different from a lot of the ones I’ve read in that the dynamic was basically 24/7, and Caden was sort of floating/flipping between big and Little regularly. They didn’t have set times for him to be Little, no set ‘play times’. It seemed like he was Little more often than not. I didn’t have a problem with that, and actually enjoyed seeing a character fully embrace that. Caden isn’t anywhere near the youngest MC I’ve seen being a Little. He’s 24, but he seems very young mentally at times, even when ‘big’. Thankfully, he was able to kind of drag himself out of that headspace and be ‘big’ whenever it was needed and important. The book also had a slightly suspenseful plot, with the Daddy MC trying to solve a case as a detective. We all know by now that any book with a little added action or suspense is a win for me (unless it’s shit, lol). I’m also really excited for the other two books planned in this series. I’m intrigued by all of the characters that are gonna be in them, even the MMM book, which I normally stay clear of.
This won’t get all the stars from me. I obviously can’t speak to the author’s thoughts and intentions for the characters, but I would love to see Caden in therapy. It was mentioned briefly I believe, but not followed up on. I think working through some of his past trauma would make the kink exploration feel less like a crutch, and more healthy. Not that everyone needs to use kink ‘perfectly’ (whatever that would be), but it seemed like a lot of the reason why Caden was drawn to being a Little was because of how he didn’t have those things as an actual child. I wanted that to be taken more seriously, I guess. It didn’t feel creepy thankfully (to me), but I could imagine that being problematic in the future. We’ll get to see Lincoln and Caden more in the future books though, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they evolve. “He’s absolutely perfect for me.” “Hell, I could tell that the first time we were in the coffee shop and you about tripped over air when you saw him.”
If you enjoy age play, a more fluid 24/7 dynamic, intimate scenes while in ‘little space’, and a touch of suspense, then this would be a great choice. Side-eyeing Lincoln, he tried to figure out how to get what he wanted. Finally, he gave up and tugged on Lincoln’s shirt. “What do you need, baby?”

Kisses were everything. Caden would do just about anything to get more of Lincoln’s kisses.
Cute and fluffy age-play romance, great hurt/comfort, but not enough feels. Caden and Lincoln were super sweet together, but it was still a pretty basic Daddy/little romance, nothing standing out. This felt really similar to others I’ve read of the genre, which probably means I’ve read way too many, but I was hoping for more emotions, more snuggly feelings.
Still a pretty cute read, and since I can’t say no to a poly romance I’ll definitely be coming back to this series for Nash, Lucas and Adam’s story.
CW and NSFW info (spoilers): - Age play w/ ABDL - Age gap (24 vs 42) - Found family - Anxiety - Mentions of parental abandonment - Mentions of neglectful childhood - Homelessness - Virgin MC - MC w/ tattoos - Strict top/bottom - Orgasm control - Suckling kink - Frotting
This was such a cute book. Something about the way the author writes these stories just makes me warm on the inside and I enjoy them so much. I cannot wait for the next one!
*sidenote: I felt there was grammar improvement in this book, and no name confusion which usually happens so that was a great improvement.*
3.5 ⭐️ the beginning was a little slow and I didn’t like that the only sex scene we got was in the final chapter. However, Caden, Sam and Avery were adorable and I’m so excited to read their books.
- Barista/Detective - Age Gap - Age Play - Suspense - First Times - Found Family
Content Warnings: Homeless teen, mentions of sex work (parent), drug use (not MC's), violence, panic attacks
The dynamic between the MC's was almost 24/7 because Caden would float between big/little fluidly throughout the day. There were no set times for Caden to be little or playtime, he just seemed to be more little than big most of the time. Caden came to Rocky Lake when he heard two teens in the shelter talking about how inclusive and safe the town is. Caden had been traveling for years as a homeless teen and then found a new life where he was finally beginning to heal in Rocky Lake. He has a job he loves and where he met his found family, Adam and Sam. Caden has anxiety and gets scared easily but his friends make sure to take care of and protect him. They also taught him about age play since they are both boys as well. Lincoln has been coming into the coffee shop for months, slowly letting Caden get used to him. From the moment he saw the boy he knew that he was perfect for him, so he started to prepare for Caden by getting gifts and items together for when he finally got a chance to date the boy. Once he gets that chance, these two are instantly attached to each other. Lincoln is very patient with Caden and makes him feel safe and secure. Their love story coincides with an investigation that Lincoln's department is assigned to that involves a drug cartel. There's suspense and some violence that occurs within the story. Towards the end you see the other boys begin their first interactions with their possible partners and I'm interested to see how Adam and Sam get along finding their daddies.

This is a sweet story of Caden and Lincoln as they meet and become Daddy and boy. I loved Caden and the way he got past his past traumas and the way that his friends did everything they could to help him. Lincoln was a man designed for him and it was beautiful to read of their relationship and the love that grew between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with diapers.
- an MM romance! small town romance, age gap, age play, daddy k!nk, instalove - well damn this is the most isntalove thing ever 😂 - loving the sub plot of the police case! - Adam and Sam are so sweet and i am buzzing for their books! - CARE BEARS - daammnnn Lincoln moved quicks 😂😂 - i thought there would be more apprehension on Caden’a side just because of all the trauma he has - they were so sweet together omg i can’t get enough of them - the age play scenes were written so well!! - Midnight 🥹🥹 - this is just a very domestic and cute, fluffy read!! minus the drug cartel - really good smüt scenes!! - my heart was so sad for Adam and what happened at the club :( he needs a big hug - love how it was displayed that even though they were in a D/s relationship how equal they were as partners! - well THAT was a good third act conflict!! - my poor littles 🥺 and Caden and Adam having those meltdowns really hurt - loved the ending!!! disappointed we didn’t get any love confessions and no epilogue tho
New author for me, and my first thoughts are she writes GREAT characters and GOOD stories!
Putting aside the grammatical errors (that still seems to be a thing with most M/M books) I loved how each character (side characters included) was given a physical description and at least a basic history of their life!
Caden broke my heart while at the same time giving me hope, and Lincoln's patience and protectiveness are just what Caden needs to help him deal with his past trauma. I must admit I found the "cartel" issue a bit "meh" and where the heck did the Vegas team come from? I did a quick search and couldn't find their books... maybe I need to look again?
Anyways, Sam and Adam need to get their man/men so I am jumping right into Coffee & Cuffs to see how things progress in Rocky Lake!
Book overall was just okay. The connection between Caden and Lincoln fizzled about halfway. This book would have benefited from being much shorter. But I think the author got carried away with setting up the next two books in the series and an overarching plot.
This book also needed more proofing. There are so many errors that it got distracting and annoying. I'm curious about the other boys getting their HEA, but not enough to waste my time on reading a book that the author doesn't feel like taking the time to proof before publishing. There's nothing new here, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Heck, there wasn't even "I love you" exchanged between Caden and Lincoln before the abrupt ending. And the last intimate scene was rushed and badly timed. Very disappointed.
I am a huge fan of Athena Steller's Daddy/boy books and this new series is going to be right up there with the others. I love how the author doesn't just stick to one Daddy/boy type, but actually introduces us to a wide variety of D/s relationships. Each couple has their own struggles and ways of loving, and I am completely pulled in to each story. The books overlap so that, even though each individual one focuses on a specific couple, the story arc continues and just builds off the previous ones. I love how the Little characters, such as Caden in this book, can be vulnerable without being weak, and the daddies can show their own weaknesses while still being strong for their boys. These are books that I re-read over and over - they are my happy place! 5/5*
This is a cute Daddy/lb story between a detective and a barrister. Caden has had it rough all his life with his mom being an addict and then disappearing when he was 14. He wandered the street, scrounge for food, sleep under bridges, and lived in and out of shelters. Overhearing two teen boys talking about Rocky Lake and how safe it was, Caden took off for the little town. He landed a job at the coffee shop and was able to move into the upstairs apartment. Lincoln wanted a forever boy, not just hookups. When he entered the coffee shop one morning he was beside himself. He spotted the most beautiful boy ever. Patience is the key. 6 months later and Caden is talking to him and they are going on their first date. Their story is just beautiful and adorably cute. It’s a 5 star ⭐️ review for me. 💜
This was so great!! I loved getting into a new Athena Story! Heed the CW folks, shit gets heavy and uncomfortable sometimes but everything is relatively offpage except the almost kidnapping scene so take care!
Honestly, this was such a great introduction to a new set and I can't wait to read about Adam, Lucas and Nash! Lincoln was absolutely the best daddy and I loved seeing Caden trying new things and letting go with his daddy.
(kinda need him to go to therapy but okay)
Loved the bonus gift that Athena gave us in the form of a little update about one side character from Daddy's boy in the form of his detective brother showing up, that was a truly amazing moment that I had, including a gasp and clutching the pearls, when I realised what I was reading!
5 stars… Oh I ate this up! I really enjoyed the dynamics, and the cast of this book. The drug cartel part kind made me roll my eyes and what is peoples obsession with making daddy’s into cops? Like… ACAB but whatever.
I don’t usually read poly books but one in this series is and I think I’ll read it because I think it will be enjoyable.
Cadens sob story of being homeless and never going to school felt crazy but I’m glad he was safe and found his daddy.
1/5 on spice. 3/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. This is DDlb and there is pacifiers and diapers in here so be warned.
You can't help falling in love with Caden, that boy had a hard life until he found his friends Sam and Adam. But when Daddy Lincoln walked into the coffee shop everything started to change for the good. There was some danger because of the cartel trying to move drugs in but of course Daddy was on top of it. Lincoln and Caden may have their HEA but there is still Sam and Adam that needs theirs and the cartel was hurt and ran but I feel they will be back to try to take over the town.
This was my first book by Athena Stellar. Caden is a young man, with a horrifying past, and anxiety issues, who just moved to Rocky Lake Arizona, and has began a job as a barrista at a local coffee shop. His two best friends, Adam and Sam work along with him. Lincoln is a detective with the local police department in the narcotics division. A lot of daddy/little content, and I really liked how this story also had some suspense and a mystery beyond just the romance. I really did enjoy the characters, and I'm sure I'll read more of her stories.
Oh my I wanted more. I love these two together, they were perfect. I love the dynamic. I wanted more couple time more little time more time. That being said the time we got was yummy and sweet. The writing was good. The smexy would have loved a little more, This group of friends and their daddies are cute. I’m not an MM+ reader but I can’t wait for the other book. Besides more I’d love to see diversity. Please.
Once again I gave this author a chance because I love her plot ideas but goddamn she can’t write to save her life. Her conversations are both flat and tragically absurd at the same time. She certainly has an image in her head how her characters should interact with each other and react to certain things but somehow she fails to put 50% of that on paper and what you’re left with is just not enough to enjoy the book.
This reads just like the author’s book Baby Boy: both have a daddy that wait until the boy is ready to claim them, both have lots of getting to know you scenes, an Aww moment, steamy scenes and a big Aww moment. This one has a slight cliff hanger with the bad guy. You do know which couple is next (which I’m super excited about!). It’s a fast read and a great book!
Really easy to read daddy / Little book. Caden had had a horrific upbringing, but finally for on his feet when he was given an apartment and job at the coffee shop. Lincoln always came in for his coffee and to see the shy boy who made it but never spoke to him. After six months Caden finally went out on a date. Brilliant story couldn't put it down
I thought this was a great start to a new series. I love how the friendship between characters was portrayed, how sweet and affectionate they were with each other. The dynamics were adorable and hot between Caden and Lincoln as well. I'm super excited to read Adams story when we get it!
Oh wow, this book is absolutely amazing. I loved Caden, he was so cute and gorgeous and the sweetest little. Lincoln was the perfect daddy for him, patient, sweet and kind. The whole book is fantastic from start to finish. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next 2.
Solid 4 stars because I loved Caden and Lincoln, loved that they negotiated a healthy, gradual discovery of their relationship, and loved the other characters just as much.
I wish we'd either seen more of Lincoln's detective work rather than been told about it, or not had it come up as much if not because it was the only part that dragged on for me. Did love how it turned out though!
I have read other series from this author and was happy with the review I read that this would be good too and I was right. I really enjoyed Caden's character. He was sweet and innocent but with a past that made him strong deep down. I didn't mind the drug cartel story line It all fit in with Lincoln's job. Off to read everyone else's story
1.5 stars rounded up because I'd hate to give this a one-star review but it was...underwhelming. The characters were very stock and the main ship was sweet (it is ABDL, in case you didn't pick that up) but the overarching plot concept of the cop and his job was so melodramatic that it felt like a bad cops 'n' robbers show from the 90s.
This book is an amazing start to the series. I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to get to know these characters and watch their love develop. Oh and the plot? I’m actually hooked.
I enjoyed Caden and Lincoln’s story. It’s sweet, mildly angsty, has an intriguing side story, and I loved the relationship between Caden and his friends Sam and Adam. I’m looking forward to Sam’s story in book two of the series!
