Drowning in Clutter? (Don’t Grab a Floatie . . . Drain the Ocean!)
Are you overwhelmed with stuff? You’re definitely not alone.
If you feel like you’re drowning in your home, but decluttering seems an impossible task . . . Drowning in Clutter? (Don’t Grab a Floatie . . . Drain the Ocean!) is for you.
Clutter is intensely personal. Decluttering can be gut-wrenching, heart-breaking, and physically exhausting.
But it’s worth it.
I know.
I’ve decluttered truck-fulls of my own stuff over the past three years of my deslobification process. I’ve worked my way through junk piles and junk closets and junk rooms.
As I’ve decluttered, I’ve developed decluttering strategies that can help anyone work his/her way through ANY amount of clutter.
I’ve changed my perspective on “stuff” and have changed how our home functions.
Even though it sounds like an impossible task, I’ve “drained the ocean” down to a level I can handle!
In Drowning in Clutter? (Don’t Grab a Floatie . . . Drain the Ocean!), you’ll learn:
How to define and identify clutter in your (unique) home. How to break through Decluttering Paralysis. How to develop and gain Decluttering Momentum. How to make large numbers of difficult Decluttering Decisions in the shortest time possible.
This e-book also contains:
Tips for helping others declutter. Proven strategies to help you determine what (and how much) you really need in your home. Ideas for how to get rid of your clutter. Hope.
“Dana’s definition of clutter is life-changing. No exaggeration.” – Mary Carver of GivingUpOnPerfect.com
“I’ve never ever been excited about the thought of decluttering, but your e-book made me feel inspired and empowered. I have a feeling I’m going to be reading and re-reading this over the next year (or for the rest of my life)!” - Lisa
This e-book is a companion to my first e-book, 28 Days to Hope for Your Home. While 28 Days focuses on developing daily habits that will bring (and keep) any home out of Disaster Status, Drowning in Clutter? will help you get the clutter out of your home so your daily habits become easier.
It all works together.
These 2 e-books are also currently available as a two e-book set.
Read a few of these type of books and this is by far the best I’ve found. For normal people with normal homes, sensible advice that I might actually follow.
Dana White of the A Slob Comes Clean offers some simple steps and pathways to beginning the decluttering process. The biggest takeaway for me was the difference between decluttering and organizing. I am not now, nor have I ever been organized with stuff, but, that is also in part because too much stuff becomes too overwhelming to keep in its place.
For certain people the best way to handle clutter is NOT to organize it but, to get things down to a bare-bones level and develop new habits to keep things that way. Dana's book is a great pathway to that end.
I would have probably given this 3.5 stars if that was possible. It was a quick easy read and gave a few strategies that are not the norm for decluttering which I liked and will probably use. She seems like a funny gal which makes it more fun to read. I appreciate that it is organization decluttering tips from someone who tends to be messy as opposed to a neat freak. It feels more "real" that way I suppose.
This lady gets me. Her writing style is humorous and real. No talking down to you, as she is struggling as well. I love her blog, and her books. Not the first time I've read this book, and probably won't be the last.
