This is a bit dated, but it does offer some good history about the Ravens franchise. It was written after the team won its second Super Bowl. They haven’t been back since, even with some strong teams in 2019 and 2023. The update would have to deal with the decline and fall of Joe Flacco, the rise of Lamar Jackson and the nightmare of Ray Rice, who went from respected running back to pariah after the video of him assaulting his then fiancée (he has been making some serious amends). Worth it for the newest Ravens fan or someone living in the Baltimore area who wants to learn a bit more about the football team that drives the passions of the Baltimore fan, who is one of the more passionate species of fan, even if they are not a douche-y as the New York, Philly or Dallas fan.

I read this book because I’m trying to learn more about pro football, and I adopted Baltimore on a literary whim (the Ravens, because of the Poe/Baltimore connection). So, I know a bit more about the Ravens now, and look forward to following them next season. We’ll see if I actually remember anything from the book! If I don’t, it won’t be the book’s fault.
