Brooding vampire halfling and biologist Bel Maras is determined to create a cure for the wasting disease that plagues his vampire family. His work becomes essential as the Hunters intensify their global and bloody campaign. When Bel's cure fails, only his ancient and estranged godmother Uta Ilirije can help. But seeing the ice-cold Uta reveals something shocking--she is his bonded mate.
She may be a dangerous warrior, but Uta feels her failures acutely. She has been unable to protect her kind from Hunters, and vampires are dying out. Worse, she tied Bel to her long ago in an accident of blood, then abandoned him for his own good--a choice he has never forgiven. Many days, she is convinced Bel and the vampires would be better off if she just walked into the sun.
Biology has fated them to be mates. Now these old enemies must overcome their past to save the vampires and come to peace with the bond they never chose.
Amber Belldene grew up on the Florida panhandle, swimming with alligators, climbing oak trees and diving for scallops…when she could pull herself away from a book. As a child, she hid her Nancy Drew novels inside the church bulletin and read mysteries during sermons—an irony that is not lost on her when she preaches these days.
Amber is an Episcopal Priest and student of religion. She believes stories are the best way to explore human truths. Some people think it is strange for a minister to write love stories, but it is perfectly natural to her, because the human desire for love is at the heart of all the best books and God made people with that desire. She lives with her husband and two children in San Francisco and loves chatting with readers and other authors on social media!
I love this series. Each book in this trilogy has been amazing, and Blood Reunited is no exception. There is something so special about these complex and appealing characters with their gripping and richly-layered storyline. If you've been drawn in by the first two books, then you are in for an amazing conclusion to this trilogy. And if you haven't started this series yet, I highly recommend it for the Adult reader.
Blood Reunited picks up where Blood Entangled left off, and kept me glued to the pages until the very end. I will not give away plot details, but be ready for some highly creative, imaginative reading, taking us in all sorts of directions, being completely entertaining at the same time. I loved that Belldene did not make things easy for her characters. There are wins and losses, redemption and failure, love and hope. Problems had to be challenged and faced head-on. Ultimately I loved and respected where she eventually brought her characters and their community. Belldene brought it all together splendidly.
Uta may be my favorite character from this series. She has so many layers, so much depth, so many years of her life, so much history, so much heart. There's just so much to her and I loved getting to know her. She is a powerful warrior queen with this amazing strength, who can also be so hilarious, zinging us with some great lines. But behind it all is a vulnerable woman aching to be loved and understood. Her heartache is deep. Oh how my heart broke for her! To live as long as she has, to do all that she has done for her people, and to struggle with all that she feels. I loved her and admired where her journey eventually took her.
Then there's Bel, who finally found answers to his questions in book two, and here he must face it all. I could completely understand and empathize with his plethora of conflicting feelings and emotions. His confusion, his bitterness, his longing, and also feelings of betrayal. And besides all the personal stuff, the scientist in him was desperately trying to save his people. What he faced was so hard to watch. I knew what I wanted for him, but also knew an easy solution would have felt false. But just like Uta, I loved that we witnessed the depths of his journey and loved where it eventually led him.
We also get to see all our favorites from this series. Pedro and Lucas are well represented in not just the progression of their relationship (yes, there's some m/m action), but also with their role in the scope of the trilogy plot. We get our Maras family, and I loved Andre's continued fatherly role and the strength and love he continued to show. And unfortunately, we also get the bad guys, the misunderstood guys, and one particular broken female character that just made me completely sad. All this combined for an amazing, layered read.
Bottomline: I loved this entire trilogy, and Blood Reunited is a fabulous conclusion. Amber Belldene has woven a tale full of sensual characters who have such beautiful depths to them, engaged in a world full of rich detail and amazing layers that I found so well thought out, engrossing me in their compelling story. My only criticism is that this is the last book, because I will miss the Maras's and their extended family greatly. Well done!
I lost my Saturday afternoon to Amber Belldene’s Blood Reunited, the final installment in the Blood Vine Series.
I’ll admit, I’ve been a fan of Belldene’s Blood Vine series from the start. If you enjoyed A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, then this series is for you. Grown-up Vampires enduring grown-up conflict.
Belldene doesn’t pull any punches in this story. Blood Reunited is filled with angst, and romance, and my favorite kind of good-old-fashioned good-versus-evil page-turning breathlessness.
What I liked about the story:
Andre Maras’s youngest son Bel, half-vampire-half-human, comes into his own in Blood Reunited. He solves the age-old Vampire-versus-Hunter debate when he allows his broken heart to open up to Uta, his one true mate. Bel’s not happy about sharing anything with her, especially not his heart, but in the end Bel finds his truth in the arms of the woman he shares his blood-bond with. Watching Bel get there is an exercise in anticipation.
And then there’s Uta…Oh, my dear and wonderful broken, fierce, ancient Vampire Warrior Queen, Uta. Sigh – you’ll just have to read her to understand her. She’s at once amazing, then infuriating. Hilarious, then deadly. Passionate, then desperate for the one thing she wants more than anything to justify her existence on the planet: her own infuriating Bel Maras.
I also adore Belldene’s secondary characters. Pedro’s my favorite for so many reasons, but don’t tell Andre or Zoey, because I loved them too. Every character in Belldene’s beautiful Vampire world is fully drawn, with goals, understandable motivations, and severe conflicts. The vampire Loki won my heart for so many reasons. His story is one you don’t want to miss.
What I didn’t like about the story:
If I’d been in charge, the Antagonist would have suffered more deeply – he certainly deserved it. Ethan Bennett was drawn as a scorpion among creeps and I dearly wish I’d witnessed him suffer more. Belldene made me want to hate him from the sidelines.
And, because I found myself swept away with the plight of these wonderful souls the thing I didn’t like the most is this book ended their tale. I confess, I wanted it to go on. They will all surely be missed by this reader.
All-in-all Blood Reunited has delivered a satisfying ending to a wonderful trilogy filled with paranormal characters embroiled in romantic suspense, and age-old historic battles. The sexual tension melted my e-reader, but the tender underlying love and compassion of all these characters made me cheer for the type of romances I love to read.
I’ll be looking forward to more stories from Amber Belldene, regardless of genre.
Treat yourself to Blood Reunited.
**Disclosure: I received an ARC copy of this book for review purposes. All unbiased opinions in my review are my own.
Wow. This book deserves more than five stars. Blood Reunited is superb on so many levels.
First and perhaps most gratifying, it's obvious how Amber Belldene's writing is maturing as she continues this series. Every page contains deftly placed details that add richness, depth and complexity to familiar characters and to the multitude of threads she expertly weaves into a fascinating tapestry of peril, hope and renewal.
Second, we learn more of the history of the vampires, the hunters, and the events behind their ages-long conflict.
Third, the search for salvation continues with fascinating twists and turns, alliances and betrayals, and as always, plenty of heat.
The list could go on, but to avoid the risk of slipping in a spoiler, I'll simply say if you're a fan of the Blood Vine series, you'll be even more of a fan when you read Blood Reunited.
If you haven't read these books, don't wait a moment longer. Start at the beginning, drink in these richly nuanced stories and hope, pray, demand--okay, even beg--for the series to continue.
Bottom line: great writing, compelling characters, fascinating story, and a satisfying resolution that still manages to leave you wanting more.
(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I honestly loved it and want more!)
Amber Belldene wraps up her first trilogy neatly. But not at all expectedly. And not without her characters facing some horrific trials. Really, how does one imagine outcomes when guerilla war tactics loom and beings, who were just a moment ago human, now want your carotid?
Most surprising to me is what happens with Lena, the household food provider – cook for humans; fresh blood for the Maras family. I had been feeling deeply her losses and disappointments as the second book, “Blood Entangle” ended. This book also provided for me a heart for Bel. I had been seeing him as the most emotionally detached of the Maras clan. Let’s just say his detachment ends. And, of course, as a queer man, I’ve been rooting for my boys since the Lucas first landed a fist on Pedro. As a romantic who does not want to be cured, I am most satisfied.
Personally, I find great relief, following 3 decades of living with HIV and AIDS, to be privy to such great abandon and joy in the exchange of bodily fluids. Yes. You remember when your neighbor’s blood became a most frightening enemy, don’t you? “Bodily fluids” has such an objective ring to it as to totally miss the fierce intimacy of beings flowing into the one other. What union is complete without such depth of interchange? Blood, do your work.
Blood Reunited is the third and final installment of author Amber Belldene’s Blood Vine Series, a series that I have loved from the very beginning. As sad as I am to see the end to this series I must say that I am equally happy with how it did end. It was absolutely perfect.
Blood Reunited picks up where the second book, Blood Entangled, left off and to say things are a mess for the Kastle Estate Winery would be a gross understatement. The situation with the Hunters and the wasting disease are at the most dire points and things have never looked bleaker.
But vampire Halfling, Bel, still has hope that he can cure the wasting disease and in turn save the vampire race. He has been working non-stop on in his lab and believes he’s isolated what makes the wine so important. He also believes he’s figured out the same thing about the Hunter blood. It’s all right there, practically in his grasp but alas, it keeps eluding him. To throw another monkey wrench into things, Uta is at the winery. Uta, Bel’s childhood friend, one of the oldest vampires in existence, and his blood mate. As if he needed this kind of distraction. Her presence has awoken a need in him he has never felt before and also has brought back all his childhood feelings of hurt when she pushed him away all those years ago. He still had no idea why she sent him away when he needed her most after his mother’s suicide and he certainly didn’t have time to worry about it now. He needed to focus on his work and saving vampires. Easier said than done.
Vampire Uta Ilirije has stayed away from Bel for as long as she could. Now, being forced to head to his family’s winery with the council so they could work on saving the vampires and stopping the Hunters, she would be forced to see him…and ignite the blood bond. A blood bond she had formed by accident. No matter what the circumstances though, she loved Bel. Always had. And seeing his distaste for her was crushing her. But she was a warrior and would do what it took to stop this war with the Hunters and in the end she hoped one day Bel could forgive her. Dare she hope along with his forgiveness he could learn to love her?
Adding to this storyline was Ethan Bennett and his new plaything, Gwen. Whoa, talk about one effed up relationship! Amber did one hell of a job portraying them as the uncaring, soulless fiends they are…or shall I say were.
We also learned more about the vampire race and their ancient relationship with the Hunters. Seeing all the pieces fit into place was pretty amazing and again, Amber did one hell of a job weaving their historic tale throughout the series with the culmination in Blood Reunited.
While reading this story the saying “it’s going to get worse before it can get better” kept rolling around in my head…because never had it been truer. Things with the Maras clan and the winery are a devastated mess and I was heartbroken for all they had to endure. Bel and Uta go through so much in terms of emotion and rehashing their personal history. Bel being stubborn and angry while Uta is broken and tired of feeling all the guilt she has carried over their blood bond. All of that being said, it made the ending ever sweeter. I had such a sense of contentment when I read “The End” and I finished this book with a smile. You know I won’t give anything away so you’ll have to red it for yourself to find out.
Amber, thank you for one of the most amazing series endings I have ever had the pleasure of reading and for giving us the Blood Vine Series. All you vampire lovers out there really need to read this series…you won’t be disappointed!

*Warning: This book is for mature readers only. Though it doesn’t have as many erotic scenes as the 2nd book, it does still have some. So again, my younger followers , this isn’t for you. *
This 3rd installment of the Blood Vine Series was the best of them all. I loved all the suspense and action. I was pleased that this book was not packed with over the top sex scenes as the 2nd book was. I was almost done and was thinking yay, no male on male (Pedro and Lucas) sex scenes, then I got to chapter 51 and that thought was shattered as a graphic sex scene with Pedro and Lucas grossed me out. I just do not like to read that kind of detailed scenes.
Except for that chapter I mentioned, I loved the book. I wanted to smack Bel and Uta at times, they were so stubborn and makes you just want to help them out, lol.
I was afraid I would not enjoy reading from Uta’s point of view as her English in book 2 was so horrid. But in this one, she brushed up on her English and talks more normal. She still messed up some phrases but those were hilarious, and just gave the book a bit of funny too.
There were lots of unexpected twist and a few gasp out loud moments, especially when certain people die (I will not say who!) I was so shocked and was a bit mad at Amber, lol. I guess it had to be done, as a good book needs that kind of drama. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. Though there were a few deaths that I didn’t get upset about, lol.
Overall the series if full of great writing, compelling characters, fascinating storyline and a satisfying resolution to the story, but still manages to leave you wanting more.
I found the Ethan and Gwen relationship rather sick. That women is just sick in the head. I wont get into that, but when you read it, you will know what I mean.
I think Amber did a great job of ending this. I liked how it ended in Andre’s point of view. It seemed fitting as the first book started with him. I felt it all ended up as it should.
So if you have not read these book yet, and like erotica paranormal romances, then this is for you. Unlike many erotica books out there, this one has an amazing storyline. So check it out.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
Here is the deal- this is one of my favorite vampire series ever. Amber Belldene has created such a lush and fully realized world that you get lost in it.
Blood Reunited wraps up the series effectively but leaves just enough that should she wish (and I so hope she does) to return to it there is more than enough mileage left. There are some darker turns in Blood Reunited that I did not expect, but just add depth to an already complex and compelling world.
Uta is a kick-ass heroine but like the other characters is fully developed and well rounded. The relationship between her and Bel is a bit heartbreaking and of all the main character relationship is the most hard-fought. Of course Lucas and Pedro continue to be my favorite pairing and they really are put through the ringer here.
I cannot recommend this series enough. Please start with the first book Blood Vine, it is so worth it to read this series through. This is a totally satisfying conclusion yet I want more- I don't want this to be the end! If you are looking for a vampire series that is well thought out, mature, and totally engrossing, this is it.
This is one of those books where I got annoyed at real life because it interfered with me reading this book! I love this world, I love the Maras family (and extended family). I ship Pedro and Lucas so hard, and they really get some nice time together in this one. The excitement and intrigue between the vampires and Hunters really ramps up.
If you remember Uta from the last book, there's way more of her in this one and she is so funny! She's such a great heroine: funny, smart, super vampire strong and yet really vulnerable, too.
Uta is just funny as herself, but a lot of the humor comes from her English as a second (or third or 10th) language. For example:
"She whispered, "I have done many things in my life. But I am not yet a member of this club for people who have had sex on airplanes."
I gasped out loud more than once reading this book. Such a satisfying end to the trilogy. Highly recommend.
I bought and read the first two books of this series and loved them. I told Amber (yes, we’re friends) I couldn’t wait until her next one came out, so she sent me an ARC! I’ll still buy the book when it comes out on the 28th, because the formatting on that ARC sucked and I want a GOOD copy. So, what does that say about the book? I loved it. It was such a wonderful ending to a wonderful series. One hot and sexy read. It also contains some m/m action, which isn’t a problem for me.
Having read the previous two books, i was eager to read this one. It did not disappoint. It turns out this is a trilogy, so this is the final book...which in a way is a little sad as id grown to like/dislike characters, but at the same time, it was the perfect way to end it.
Other books would be possibly grasping at straws to keep the reader enamoured as i have been. OK, so first book based around Andre and Zoey, obviously with the main storyline of the wine making to help the exiled vampires. The second one was on Kos and Lena, with the story behind the vamps and hunters unravelling more. And also the destruction of the precious vines that Andre and the family had been carefully cultivating.
So this third is a mix. Pedro and Lucas reach an ending, not in the way you imagine, but i dont want to spoil the end! We have a hawks eye on Bel, Andre's "halfling" son- born to a human mum and Andre. We find out how that worked, and found that due to that Bel's mate is revealed as Uta - the vampire who gave Bels mum blood to be able to give birth to Bel. Thats kind of a weird scenario...to me it almost felt like he had the lust for his step mom or something, but it did improve.
Bel was also the scientist trying to find the right protein to keep the vampires from their degrading weakness....and nothing seems to have worked. A trip to the "homeland" to find the only other halfling in existence, seems to be a failure as she has left the home in worry of being found by the hunters..... But shes left some extremely interesting wine concoction that seems to have the missing ingredient Bel hasn't been able to find.
The vamps who find this try it...and......WOW.....Pedro, the youngest of all the vamps suddenly feels amazing, and his abilities are strongly enhanced...
However back at Andre's vineyard, the Hunters have finally found a way in, which makes you really hate the 2 characters who do it. They've even managed to infiltrate the FBI into thinking that they were running a human slave trafficking house, so they were along side with them...
The place was decimated.
The vamps and people left managed to hide in a tunnel underground that was made to withstand up to World War II standards....not the kind of firepower we have today..... plus the heat from the raging fire through the house, and its getting a little warm.... ......can they escape? Do the group who went to the homeland figure out something is wrong?? The house is destroyed...and its daylight...how can the vamps come out of the tunnel??
Im not telling you specifics. it would totally spoil the ending, but its a great final book, and i thoroughly enjoyed the series. i hope Ms Belldene releases something soon so i can enjoy her fantastic writing again!
I've been so happy that I discovered this series because truly it's become an all-time favorite for me. I love vampires and I'm not kidding when I say it's one of the best ones in the genre out there.
Blood Reunited was amazing. Just like the two other books it centered on the Maras vampires, this time especially on Bel and Uta. I was so glad to finally read in Bel's point of view. Because he's my favorite guy in the series and he didn't disappoint at all. It was also very fun to be inside Uta's head. With English not being her first language, the things she says are to die for. I laughed many times. But I have to admit I had to get used to her and Bel as a couple because of the whole godmother thing but nontheless I learned to love them together and, well, they were great.
Oh and of course we had Lucas and Pedro to read about. They might be my favorite couple in this series actually. I just really care for them as characters and they're just so adorable together. And can I just applaud Lucas for doing the thing he did (I cannot say for the sake of not putting any spoilers but seriously!).
The story was a little bit of a rollercoaster. From funny moments to serious to happy and then to sad ones, up and down it went. There were a lot of unexpected twists and gasp out loud moments. When certain people died (not naming anyone!) I was so shocked and kinda cursing Amber Belldene (sorry, Amber!) for doing this to us but a good book can't be without this kind of drama, I guess. *sniffles*
And that ending! You know how some authors totally screw up and ending? Amber Belldene absolutely didn't do that. It was the perfect ending for such a great series. I loved it so so much. I like how the last chapter was Andre's. It felt right. And I'm glad we got to know how everyone was doing four years later (especially Kos, Lena and their child). Nicely done!
Blood Reunited was just as fantastic as the rest of the series. Full of action, the right amount of steamy romance and so damn funny (Uta, yes I'm talking about you!). I haven't loved a vampire series this much in a long time. It was original and I love the twists about the hunters and vampires. And one thing's for sure, I will miss these characters so much but I'm glad to have read their story! 5 stars more than deserved!
Blood Reunited was a great read! It’s the third book in a trilogy, and going into it I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t be able to follow along since I hadn’t read the first two. Not to worry – Amber Belldene manages to avoid tedious info dumps to explain the back story, but drops in hints and details that filled me in on what I had missed without it feeling like a lecture.
The story is told from multiple POVs, but the primary love story in this one is between half-vampire/half-human Bel, and Uta, an ancient vampire warrior queen. They knew each other when Bel was a child, and, unbeknownst to Bel (but known to Uta), they were “bonded” the moment Bel was conceived (but not in a creepy imprinting way). What this means (and what Bel finds out very quickly) is that they can never truly be happy with anyone else. Lucky for Bel, he’s been unaware of this for most of his life and has enjoyed sex with countless women, but poor Uta has been unable to satisfy her…longing…in pretty much forever. As stubborn and abrasive as she can be at times, this is a pretty sound way to make me sympathize with a character!
Bel hates Uta for something that happened in the past, hates her even more when he learns of this bond, and for a while they hate each other. Over the course of the story their feelings change – sometimes for better, sometimes for worse – but we know they’re meant to be together and are rooting for them.
Interwoven with Bel & Uta’s complex budding relationship are continued (I’m assuming) plotlines from the previous novels that culminate in a final showdown between the vampires and the human Hunters who are determined to exterminate them. The Hunters prevent vampires from returning to their homeland, causing them to slowly waste away, so there’s a ticking (metaphorical) time bomb as scientist Bel searches for a cure and warrior Uta works with a vampire council to try to find an alternate solution.
The story is well plotted, well written, and comes to a satisfying conclusion. If you have yet to read the series I would recommend starting with book one (I wish I had). Fans of vampires will love it, fans of romance will adore it, and if you happen to like both, you’re in for a treat.
***I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***
Last book in a great trilogy. Though it ended nicely, I hope Ms. Belldene does some spin-offs to see how the different couples progress in the new lives. After all there are still bad Hunters out there.
The main thread from the first two books is continued here with Andre and the Kastel family trying to solve the vampire’s wasting disease and the Hunters, led by Ethan, trying to stop them. If it’s been awhile since you’ve read the first two, I recommend reading a synopsis of each as I was confused for a while.
The romance involved in this one is between Bel Maras & Uta, a very old friend of the family (Does that make her a cougar?). Through an accident of blood at his birth, Bel and Uta have been bonded all their lives, though Bel has been unaware of this.
When he finds out, he is furious at having his choice of mate taken away, especially by someone who hurt and rejected him as a child. What he doesn’t realize is that Uta did so for his own good, because he was a child and in order to give him a change to live his own life.
All this time he’s been researching a cure for the vampire disease, finally developing a serum he calls Hemoaurum. But it doesn’t work and Uta’s been keeping the secret of why.
The relationship between Pedro & Lucas develops fully, after some close crisis. The bond of both couples: Andre & Zoey and Kos & Lena are still strong and passionate. The only characters I’m sad for are Gwen and Loki.
I love when they fly back to the old country and discover their roots and the source of the wine. And the final solution at the end is very satisfying. I also like Ayal. She’s someone I’d like to see a spin-of of.
Fave scenes: Uta’s flight off the lighthouse, unraveling the sweater and Uta’s naked run outside.
Tight, high-stakes plot, sizzling romance, tear-inducing drama, intense action, characters you’ll love to love and others you’ll love to hate…Blood Reunited has all that and more.
The third book in Amber Belldene's Blood Vine Series, Blood Reunited centers around two of my favorite characters, vampire-human Bel and his ancient vampire love, Uta. Proud and stubborn and carrying a ton of baggage from their past, both characters kept me immersed in their will-they-won’t-they struggle. And, of course, their interpersonal conflict is exacerbated by the ongoing conflict for the series: Bel’s father, Andre, and the rest of the vampire cast seek a cure for the wasting disease threatening their race while undergoing the ever-escalating violence from their enemies, the fanatical Hunters.
Speaking of Hunters, brothers Lucas and Ethan are such well-drawn characters you can’t help but love the stuffing out of tenderhearted Lucas while you’ll want to drop a megaton of C4 on Ethan, the not-quite-sane leader of the Hunters. No spoilers here, but suffice it to say, Ethan performs some cringe-worthy antics on the page which had me saying, "He’s not going to do that... No, really? Oh wow, he just did that..." In other words, evil Ethan is a definite page-turner. Lucas, on the other hand, is so endearing I wanted to scoop up the big teddy bear and hug the stuffing out of him. And p.s. Lucas and Pedro’s love story also continues in this last book, adding an intense and compelling layer of drama to an already riveting plot.
Blood Reunited is a must-read for series fans and newcomers alike. For those new to this compelling series, here’s the recommended reading order:
I got these books from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing these books.
Well, I'm going to express my thought on the whole series in one review because that will help me to pull up everything that I want to say.
Okay, firstly coming to the plot, I really liked it and also liked the story line. The interesting plot twists made the read an intriguing one and also it developed an unique kind of excitement and didn't let me let go in the middle, so I read all 3 books in a go.
Secondly I liked the characters very much and I liked the way the author brought in front of us the various aspects of the characters' personality and life as well and it gave a detailed and an inner view about this whole book. There is action, romance, passion and a gripping suspense and heart-wrenching mystery that would definitely give you a mini heart-attack. So be careful!!!
I loved the writing style of the author, its utterly comfortable and I felt at easy while I read these books. So over all a great series that I would definitely like to recommend to others and I hope that you guys will like it too.
I really love this series and Blood Reunited, the final book in the series, may well be the best yet. If you haven't read Blood Vine and Blood Entangled, stop and go read them first. You can read this one without having read the other two (the author has done a masterful job of making that possible) but why cheat yourself? This series is a wonderful story and everything hangs together so beautifully, it deserves to be read in order.
This book has all the characters from the previous books (including Lucas and Pedro, my favorite couple!) and Ms. Belldene does a fabulous job (as always) of weaving the different complex characters and story lines into an amazing story that I absolutely could not put down.
Uta is my favorite heroine. She's fierce and powerful and yet vulnerable. Bel is the perfect compliment to her, strong and intelligent and independent.
As usual, the author has incredibly complex, life-like characters and detailed multi-layered plot lines that make it impossible to stop reading. The dialogue is fantastic. The action sweeps you away. The characters grab ahold of your heart (even the bad guys) and never let go.
Uta the warrior queen has to be one of my all-time favorite characters in books. She had me laughing out loud with some of her broken English lines. Her flaws were easy to relate to, believable, but complex. She was fierce, strong, funny, lonely, torn, and liked to knit at vampire speed. What’s not to love? Bel the half human and half vampire scientist is stubborn, has emotional baggage, brilliant, and smoking hot. The love scenes in this book will set your panties a blaze. Ethan is back and fulfills the role of the villain you love to hate. One thing I loved about this book is that the author weaved past characters from other books into the story. They are involved more than cameo appearances. The action was continuous which sent me into a page turning frenzy. This is not one of those books that you can put down. Overall a very enjoyable and entertaining read. If you like vampires, action, sizzling romance with believable and engaging characters, I highly recommend this book.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third and apparently the final (although you never know) volume in the Blood Vine series. It features yet another romance in the family, but also a resolution to the battle between the vampires and the hunters, and seems to wrap up a lot of dangling ends. The series seems popular with its readers, so I wonder if the author will eventually bow to popular demand and continue it at some time in the future.
I won this book from a giveaway by Goodreads. Amber Belldene has created an amazing book and I have no shame in admitting that I got lost in its pages. I binged read this book until it was finished. Uta's character was by far my favorite because of the depth of her personality. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in paranormal reads!
loved this final installment to the trilogy. it was heart wrenching to see Bel and Uta compromise with each other to accept the bond between them. to see so much loss ... for Andre, for Bel. it was also heart warming to feel the love as Andre spoke, "Friends, welcome home."
