The Stonebrood Saga #2

Beauty's Beasts

Rate this book
Family history can be fatal.

Riley Carson Connors is yanked out of Pittsburgh and coaxed to New York by two tall, sexy strangers. Nicholas Sherwood and Damian are the only people in the world who know anything about her parents, and what they know is terrifying. She must face a powerful enemy who killed both her parents, who were the best demon hunters of their era.

But while the truth about Riley’s family history is a powerful magnet, Damian and Nicholas prove to be even more compelling. Former lovers and brought together only because they gave their word to her mother to protect Riley, the two powerful vampires play erotic mind games with her. Each has a hidden sexual agenda that Riley can’t begin to guess, but seems to involve driving her out of her mind with the sort of pleasure only a centuries-old lover would know how to give.

Warning: This story features two super hot alpha vampire heroes, multiple sex scenes, including anal sex, MM sexual play, MMF sex and the use of sex toys. Do not read this book if frank sexual language and sex scenes offend you.
No vampires or demon hunters came to harm in the making of this book. Gargoyles have been added to the official hunt list, however…

Book 2.0: Beauty's Beasts
Book 2.1: Harvest of Holidays*

I requested and received this book from Netgalley.
I was sold on the front cover, title and blurb.
I mean for me, menage, sexy vampires, how can you go wrong, right?

I haven't read the first in this series but I didn't find it to be a problem.
My problem was the tedious disagreements/mind games between the men,who were former lovers themselves (former lovers!!!!! phew, just another reason to read it.)
For some reason I just took there actions as immature. Characters sometimes do this to me. Just grate on my the wrong way, its horrible, because the book could be the best, but somehow there actions let you down. This is a personal issue, nothing to do with the writing.
Other than that the sex was hot, how could it not be? And the storyline decent.
I would pick up another one of this authors books.

Beauty’s Beast was an excellent book! It had twists and turns that kept me hanging on every word. I even needed a few tissues. It will definitely keep you warm in those cold winter nights! ;)

Riley was a great heroine. I cheered her on from the beginning. I can’t imagine the hard life of growing up without your parents. So when two guys dangle they know her parents in front of her she jumped at it. I loved how fast she took up the training to be a hunter.

Nicholas was a brooder. I liked him but I did think he pushed Riley too hard at times. I understand that he was just trying to shield himself from his own emotions but it still was a little harsh. I loved how he finally let Riley into his heart because he finally realized you can’t protect your heart.

Damian wants both Nicholas and Riley in his life but he has to convince both of their stubborn butts. I really enjoyed how he like to bait Nicholas. He was always so tender to Riley. I did want to strangle him at one point for making me cry!! Men! Lol

This is a terrific paranormal book! It has everything a good book needs villains you hate, heroine and heroes you love and smoking hot sex that makes you wish you were Riley! I mean seriously who doesn’t want a ménage for Christmas! Tracy Cooper-Posey has made a fan for life with this series!!

~Special thank you to the author for the loan of this book in exchange for an honest review!~

Wow...I have to be honest; the warning in the book description really sold me on purchasing this book.
I love alpha males especially hot, sexy, alpha vampires and two if them...well duh of course I had to read this. And it did not disappoint. Riley is one lucky girl and Nick and Damian showed her just how lucky...yummy!
Both vampires vowed to her mother to protect her and man did they protect her.
I'm really glad I found this one. I realized after I read it that this is book 2; so I quickly went and bought book 1.
Can't wait to read it.
Definitely not for the faint of heart as there are some hotttt sex scenes...just sayin...
Highly Recommend...

When Teal Ceagh aka Tracy Cooper-Posey, asked me if I would be interested in reviewing her latest release, Beauty's Beasts, I wasn't sure, not having read anything by the author. Then I read the excerpt she sent and that's when I knew I had to read about Riley and her two vampires. I was intrigued by all three characters and although I've been a bit "off" vampires, I found myself wondering what their story was. What I found was a highly erotic, well written, unconventional love story.

Riley Carson Connors is unaware of her family background or her heritage. She grew up in the foster care system and has learned to rely on herself. When she is approached by two very sexy, very dangerous men she's not about to go with them. Until they tell her they knew her parents. It's the one thing she desperately wants to know. She agrees to go to New York City with them even while wondering what she's gotten herself into. Riley is a heroine that you can't help but feel compassion for. Growing up with no real family, Riley has been on her own for most of her life. She's very no-nonsense and tells you what she thinks even to a powerful vampire that could snap her neck in a heartbeat. I liked Riley for standing up for herself. She went through some life altering experiences but stayed true to her beliefs.

Damian and Nicholas Sherwood, while both distinct individuals, you really can't have one without the other. These two just fit together even if they didn't believe it anymore. They are centuries old vampires (read: stubborn) that have a promise to fulfill. Both are sexy and dangerous but in different ways. Damian is very smooth with a type of European flare and the more approachable of the the two. Nick is the dark and brooding type. He's got a chip on his shoulder and dares anyone to try and knock it off. Damian and Nick were lovers years ago and you can feel that sexual tension between the two. I found myself liking both men, Damian because he's so damn sexy and charismatic. Nick because his closed off, brusque manner made me want to know him better - want to know what the heck made this guy tick.

The men tell Riley that she must train before she can fight the gargoyle Lirgon. The gargoyle clan gave an intriguing slant to the plot. These gargoyles come to life at night, attacking people. It was creepy when Riley was viewing the gargoyles during the day, looking at them and knowing that at sundown they would come alive. Reminds me of a wax museum - I always thought the figures came to life at night.

The training session were intense, sweaty and hot - in a very good way. There was already sexual tension between the men, adding Riley just ramped it up. I loved how the three of them interacted. Damian befriending Riley and making her feel comfortable in the bizarre situation she's been thrown into. Nick on the other hand, tried to keep his distance and maintain a teacher/student relationship. Nick's sense of honor kept him from acting on his need and desire for Riley. Both men have goals in mind for Riley but they go about reaching them in different ways.

The book is fairly short, coming in at 163 pages. The pacing was quick and surprised me how much story the author was able to pack into that length. The love story of Riley, Damian and Nicholas took a different turn that what I had expected but I did like how it all played out. I would have liked more back story on Damian and Nicholas and their history together. Riley's parents story can be found in Book 1 of the series but you don't need to read it before reading Beauty's Beasts. There is a short scene at the end that left me wanting to know what happens with Riley best friend and roommate, Sabrina. That will have to wait until book 3, Sabrina's Clan comes out.

Vampires Nicolas and Damian have been separated for awhile now. 30 years ago the two ex-lovers lost Natalia Connors, the demon hunter whom they both were close too. When Natalia was killed in action they split up and love their own life, but now Natalia’s killer is back and is after Riley Carson Connors, Natalia’s daughter. Both vampires made a promise to Natalia to protect her daughter against demons and train her to defend herself.

Riley Carson Connors has been in the foster systems since her parents died. It was a rough life and she doesn’t trust anyone easily, so when two handsome men appear on her doorstep, claiming of knowing her parents, she knows her life would never be the same. It appears her parents were demon hunters and their enemies know about her now. She has to go with Nick and Damian to New York City so they can train her for the battle of her life.

Beauty’s Beast by Teal Ceagh is the second novel in the Guardian Bonds series. It’s a fabulous romance novel with two hot vampires and a determined young woman who isn’t afraid to embrace her destiny.

Nick and Damian have been lovers for many centuries, but after loosing someone close to them, they cannot stay together. Now they are back in each others lives and they realize the chemistry between them is still there. But that is not all, Natalia’s daughter Riley comes into their lives and you can just feel the sexual tension between them all.

Riley Connors agrees to go to New York City with the two vampires to train herself against her mother’s killer, but she never expected to feel attracted to both men. How can she choose between the two vampires, especially when she discovers the huge love between them? Both men are pushing her to let herself go. Can the three of them be together or will she destroy them all?

Just like the first story in this series, I really enjoy reading this book. I’ve already met Nick and Damian in the first story and I have to say Miss Ceagh didn’t disappoint me. Damian and Nick are so different in characters, but so right for each other and when Riley walks into their life, the love triangle…the bond is complete.

I’m definitely going to keep my eye on this author and especially this series. I know for sure there is more to tell in this world.

The second book in the Stonebrood saga is an intriguing and erotic paranormal tale with unique elements that make for a refreshing change.

Riley wants answers about her parents, so when she is yanked out of Pittsburgh and coaxed to New York by the only two people who know anything, she finds she must face a powerful enemy, one who not only killed her parents but were the best demon hunters of their time. Damian and Nicholas are former lovers who are brought together by a promise made to Riley’s mother to protect Riley.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot is brought to life by vivid imagery that captures the reader’s imagination as makes it feel as if they are actually a part of the story. There is lots of action, suspense, romance, two hot alpha vampires and lots of steamy sex that scorches the reader. The explosive multiple sex scenes include MMF, MM and anal sex play, mental sex games, use of sex toys and frank sexual language.

The chemistry between the three radiates heat from every page and the author conveys all the emotions and sex scenes with an intensity that engages the reader’s emotions and makes it easy for them to relate to the characters. All the characters are compelling with lots of charisma that grabs the reader’s attention and keeps it to the very end.

This author does a fantastic job of creating fascinating paranormal worlds with lots of intriguing and unique elements that keep the reader entertained from beginning to end and have them coming back for more. I have yet to be disappointed by one her books and this one is no exception.

I found this story to be an wonderful and wicked erotic read that created heartfelt emotions, suspense building twists and turns, and such enchanting characters that I did not want the story to end.

Terrific erotic paranormal romance. This is the second book in the Stonebrood Saga and yet again we meet the charming and very sexy vampires Nicholas and Damian. These colourful characters were first introduced in the previous novella Carson's Night.
In this book the story centres around Riley who has spent her life in foster care without knowing anything about her parents . She struggles to show trust to anyone and yet for some strange reason when two strangers show up at her flat something about them calls out to her. She is intrigued when they tell her of their connection with her mother and amazed when she realises that they are both vampires.
The demon responsible for her parents death has resurfaced and Riley reluctantly goes with the two vampires to learn about her mother who was a demon hunter. Strange murders have started to happen again and it looks as if Riley will be the next target. Struggling to train her for the upcoming battles Nicholas and Damian fight to convince Riley that she can trust them but giving up control does not come easily to Riley.
I read this with great interest as I was unsure just where this book would lead. I found it to be surprisingly emotional and without giving spoilers will say that Riley's journey takes her through both love and loss. This is an erotic book so readers should be aware that a certain level of sexual play is described but it's a love story with very strong chemistry between the lead characters . Red hot sex scenes throughout and a wicked and captivating storyline.

This is an erotic ménage paranormal romance with all the trimmings: sex toys, a little bondage, a little anal and all the games that three people can play… Yeah, it’s that kind of book – so if that sort of stuff [and the language that goes along with it] bother you – stay away!

The heroine is Riley, a somewhat battered survivor of the foster care system, who is suddenly confronted by two men who claim to be there at the request of her parents, the parents she knows nothing about. Of course they aren’t really men but vampires who knew her parents – make that her killed-in-the-line-of-duty demon-hunting parents. Yeah, she’s shocked too. They coax her to New York with them with promises of information about her family. Their goal is to train her and have her help them kill the gargoyles that killed her parents.

Admittedly everybody has issues in this book: Riley with being left to the foster care system, Nicholas with his walls around his heart, and Damien who wants to heal the breach with Nicholas and perhaps for them all to be together… For an action based plot there’s a huge dose of relationship going on. There are definitely some hankie moments.

The sex scenes are well written, the relationships are intense, and the plot kept me going. This is the second book in the Stonebrood series. I haven’t read the first one – Carson's Night – which didn’t seem to be a problem. All in all a good read-once.

I received Beauty's Beasts in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I can honestly say that I liked Beauty’s Beasts better than Carson’s Night. I kind of expected that though. Carson’s Night was technically the first book in the series, but it really felt me like a prequel. I think I got that impression since it took place more than 20 years before Beauty’s Beasts began. This one added a lot more depth to the story and even though Carson and Talla are no longer in the picture, my hope that readers would get to know the characters a little better came true.

Beauty’s Beasts was also a heart breaking story, which went way beyond just the loss of Carson and Talla. There was plenty of action, a few twists that caught me totally off guard and more than enough eat to totally warrant the warning in the description, so pay attention! There were also times that the story kind of lost me (I blame that on trying to keep up with two sexy vamps – so the author’s forgiven. ) I also thought more than once the circumstances and actions of the characters were a little too convenient, but the story itself more than made up for it.

The next book in the Stonebrood Saga is Sabrina’s Clan and the set up at the end of Beauty’s Beasts was perfect. Tracy Cooper-Posey has me hooked now and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Well I had to pull out the Kleenex for this one. Riley Connors is the daughter of Carson and Tally, who were both killed when she was a new born baby. All of her life Riley wanted to know about her parents so when a very handsome man showed up on her doorstep telling her he knew her parents, she was very interested in hearing everything he had to say. So when a second handsome man shows up telling her he knew her mom also and how much she looked like her, Riley knew she would do whatever they wanted to get the information from them. The two handsome men who happen to be the vampires, Nick and Damian that raised Tally, are now taking her back to New York to help them finish off the demon and gargoyle that killed her parents. Unknowing that they are vampires, Riley is very aroused by both men and knows she can never pick between the two. Damian and Riley fall hard for each other but each worry about how it will affect Nick. When death hits their small but lovable group Nick falls into a deep depression that only Riley can pull him out of. With all the love and sex one woman can handle Riley now has the full life and family she always needed or wanted.

I was a little worried when I picked this one up. Having read Carson and Tally's story recently, I was a bit disheartened to see that they hadn't survived to see their daughter grow up. However, while their lives might have been snuffed out early, they loved hot and hard while they had one another and that did come across nicely.

But this book isn't about Tally and Carson. It's Riley's story and she has two dominant vampire men who need to push her hard to ensure she survives her encounter with what's after her. Might I just say, those vampires sure know how to show a lady a good time. And the games they play. Wow. While I suspected what Damian was pushing for, the patience he had for his endgame was fantastic. And Nicholas... he broke my heart a little.

Damaged heroes are like catnip to me, aren't they?

With plenty of sexy time and a gargoyle that needed to have the whammy put on him, this installment delivers. Blood, sex, and stone critters who get what's coming to them. *thumbs up*

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This author is fast becoming my go-to for paranormal erotica. These quick serial reads are long enough to keep me engaged, and jam packed with sizzling hotness.

The story picks up years after the first book. Tally is dead, and her daughter, Riley, has finally been found. Damian and Nick appear on her doorstep to take her into their world of gargoyles and other supernaturals. She has to learn how to be the demon hunter that her mother spent years becoming. Oh, and she also has to work around the issues between her, Damian, and Nick almost from the get go. The boys have a lot of vampire/boyfriend baggage that Riley is tasked with handling. The attraction is instant, and HOT.

These books are yummy erotic reads and I'll keep reading them until the author stops writing them. What's not to like about paranormal erotica?

Riley finds out after 28 years, most in the foster care system, that she's the daughter of demon hunters. Nicholas, her mother's former vampire partner and his former lover Damian, find Riley and train her to hunt so she can kill her parents' killer.

Somehow, it's not explained clearly, her demon hunting ability makes her attractive to men, but they just want her body and don't appreciate her mind or abilities. Nicholas and Damian do and there's mutual attraction.

There's a nice twist in the middle. I did not understand the bit at the end with Blakeson, it comes from nowhere (perhaps it's mentioned in book 1, which I haven't read) with Riley's father ultimately being vindicated when they prove to Blakeson that Demons exist.

Scintillating continuation to the series!!

Riley Carson Connors is coaxed to New York by tall, sexy strangers; Nick and Damian. Growing up in the foster system Riley is alternately fascinated and angry that they knew her parents – and then terrified that she must face a powerful enemy who killed her parents who were the best demon hunters of their era. Nick and Damian have a past – but each are now attracted to Riley. Passionate and erotic games are played in-between training for battle. Will anyone be left standing when it is all over?

Tracy writes a story which draws you in and won’t let you go until the final page! The continuation of this series will have you experiencing every emotion as you are drawn into these characters.

A vow was made to protect and kill the creature that killed Riley Connors’ parents years ago. Damian and Nicholas are vampires who took that oath to protect an unsuspecting Riley who is unaware of the power she holds, nor of her parent’s history. Riley has to not only learn to fight gargoyles, she has to acknowledge her desire for both Damian and Nicholas. Damian has admitted his attraction to Riley, but Nicholas has spent so long suppressing his feelings he finds the new sensation unsettling and takes it out on Riley.

Typically my genre but I didn't really feel the heat between the trio. The whole scenario is a bit confusing but I read it all. I gave it three stars for the steamy sex scenes, but plot wasn't really all that interesting.
