Frederic Arnold Kummer Sr. (August 5, 1873 - November 22, 1943) was an American author, playwright and screenwriter. He also wrote under the pseudonym Arnold Fredericks. Several of his works were made into films. A caricature of him is on the wall of Sardi's restaurant.
Probably far more risqué when it was new, this is still a lot of fun. The most notorious women who ever lived are presumed to be a social club in Hell, and they get together to tell the real stories behind their legends. Eve, Salome, Cleopatra, and more. The Art Deco line drawings are gorgeous.
Found a copy of this at a used book store and loved the title. One of the best books I have ever read. So much fun to hear the "real" story of many famous events.
