Zen and the Art of Jiu Jitsu - The 30 Day Program to Improve Your Jiu Jitsu Game 1000%Are you Stuck? Struggling to find a game that works in the Academy? That’s the word that comes to mind when I think about the transition from blue belt to purple belt. For reasons that I can't quite work out, when I came to the later stages of being a blue belt I felt confused and lost in my game.
Trying to put all the pieces together seemed like a task too far and quitting looked like an option, after all, most guys my age are hitting the golf course or surfing not rolling on the floor with sweat soaked people.
This quitting idea seemed an option at least. In an effort to review what I was doing and pushing through this plateau I developed a few habits that not only brought about a huge change in my game but by applying them on a consistent basis turned me into a respected player in my academy.
˃˃˃ From obscurity to recognition, even from Black Belts, and it only took me one month!
This is a great manual for anyone interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Traditional Jiu Jitsu, MMA and Grappling.
˃˃˃ Don't forget every black belt started out as a white belt...
This manual covers various motivational strategies to keep you moving along the path and towards creating a game plan you can work!

Technique conquers all' to quote the BJJ phenom Caio Terra.
Consistency is the message. Avoiding injuries, learning and most of all enjoying yourself while you are doing it.
This is scientific jiu jitsu, this is the style of jiu jitsu that makes the game so interesting to people in their forties, fifties and sixties. It's more mental than physical while still combing both.

The thirty day protocol seems like a bit of a gimmick and the 1000% improvement makes for good advertising copy I guess.
In truth, what I took away was the need to train with intent always. This isn’t earth shattering advice, and it isn’t the first time I’ve heard it, but it’s valuable.
Like anything, take what is useful and discard what isn’t so I wouldn’t say that this quick read is wasted time. It is just unlikely to be truly transformative.
This could have used some heavy duty editing for grammar, organization and … math. But there is some thought provoking stuff in here. It has prompted me to try some changes in my BJJ path so it was worth reading. I just feel it could have been better with a good editor and perhaps a few dozen rewrites.
Quick and simple. Not much new material for me. Some may find the tips, advice, and method new, useful, and insightful. Worth a few dollars if you're in between longer reads.
I liked this book. Its basically the telling of an older Jiujitsu practitioner. While is not wholey instructive, it does give some tips for success and longevity in the sport. It is worth the read.
For those looking for a step by step guide to training and drill jiu jitsu, check out this book. Will this plan work for everyone? Probably not, but it is a great starting point with plenty of take a ways.
This is a good book and worth the read if you are beginning Jiu Jitsu. It gives excellent advice and things to consider to help you progress. However, much of it is literally word for word from his other books. I was a bit disappointed by this. It conveyed that this book may be a bit unnecessary if you have read any of the other books in the zen series.
Good content, horrible grammar. The writing style is fine, but the spelling and grammar (lack thereof) made it difficult to understand. Plus, the author confesses that 1000% in the title was really just a typo; he meant 100%.
As far as I can tell, this is the same book as the 30-day program. There are other books by the same author, but there is no book that is merely “Zen Jiu Jitsu.” Each book has a different subtitle. They are as follows: * Zen Jiu Jitsu - 30 Day Protocol * Zen Jiu Jitsu - White to Blue * Zen Jiu Jitsu - Over 40
Each of these titles have similar content and some repetition, but they stay consistent with the theme of their respective subtitles. Please note that there is not much (nothing) about Zen in these books.
