Text collects nearly 50 articles by librarians, suggesting practical and creative ways to deal with the range of Internet 'side effects', regain control of the library, and avoid being blindsided by technology. Libraries and the Internet.
I didn't actually read further than the Table of Contents on this one, and I am only adding it to my reviews so that hopefully I don't pick it up again thinking I hadn't read it. The premise, and the dilemma, is intriguing to me, but not enough to actually read essays on the topic. Maybe if it were required for a class.
I wanted this to be more about practical advice and tips.
But the table of contents was useful. Essays include:
Choose your journal titles and let vendors bid on your package. (Great idea!)
Easier physical access to all nearby library collections (Check!)
Go where they are (Duh!)
A course in accidental systems librarianship (Huh?)
