A perfect piece of literature which should be required reading. Everything, from the conflicts, to the final resolution reads out like a Shakespearean play. The plot is thick, full of characters that eventually break from their Mary Sue characters to become their own person. This book, and the film, are both one-in-a-million. Surely, by the late 2080's, this book will be considered a great piece of classic literature which will be held among the names of the greats. I have read better books, admittedly, but this book and the thick plot, story and characters will always be held high.

an update on this review:

this book has had such an impact on my life i've renamed myself brady. every day that goes by with no teen beach 3 being announced hurts me more and more. i lay awake at night, pondering whether or not the news will be announced when i awaken. teen beach 3...teen beach 4 probably coming after, it brings new hope to my life. i think about this franchise every day and how it's left me hanging. coming back to teen beach is like reopening a wound, as i know that my thirst could very well never be quenched. i wake up thinking about teen beach, i go to sleep thinking about teen beach, every day it controls me like a mad puppeteer, me being the ungrateful but still yearning puppet. i need to break away from the chains of teen beach, but at the same time i feel like letting go of this franchise would be harder than my day to day suffering knowing that disney has abandoned it. the characters have impacted my life in such a way that sometimes i talk to myself, as if they were real and cared about me, because when i'm feeling sublime, brady is there for me when seemingly nobody else is. brady is always there. i miss the freedom of not being so attached, however. it hurts seeing my friends go out and do things and me having to stay behind because teen beach has me dedicating every second of my life to it. and when i am with my friends, i have to mention teen beach too. if one of my friends offers for me to watch a movie with them, they know that if it isn't teen beach i have no choice but to decline the offer. in my eyes, teen beach is the only media that exists. i'm basing my life around teen beach, while what do i get in return for it? nothing but pain and sadness, but like a moth to a flame, i am drawn in again. i don't know how long i can keep doing this. i am 29 years old... my life has been shredded apart by ross lynch. and yet, i'm afraid of what will happen if i abandon this franchise. my philosophy? teen beach. my religion? teen beach. my friends? teen beach. my lifestyle choices? teen beach. in some ways, i think teen beach has helped my life. it's helped me understand 50's slang, but that comes with the cost of me saying "cowabunga" at my cat's funeral, accidentally of course, but uncontrollable since it was teen beach related. they look at me like i'm a freak when i'm on the bus and i'm dressed head-to-toe in teen beach merchandise. they have no idea what i'm going through. i can't control this. all i listen to anymore is the teen beach soundtracks. i know every word to every song, and at karaoke night, i am compelled to sing one. so i do. and i get booed off the stage only to have the next guy come in with a drunken don't stop believin and get cheers and applause. i believe we live in a society corrupt by leaders who have never really let teen beach into their hearts. my fellow teen beach fans, you simply must agree that your lives have changed for the better because of this franchise, no? thinking about teen beach day to day for hours and hours on end is tiring sometimes, but we all must make sacrifices for what we love. all in all, this update was to let you all know that while some may think my life is spiraling out of control because of teen beach, it is not. teen beach is my own religion, and while i may fight with myself over it sometimes, what do i get in the end. i get love, acceptance, political ideologies, philosophies, and just a generally wonderful lifestyle, all directly influenced by the teen beach franchise. i believe that teen beach is the ultimate and only good and ultimately, the world would be a better place if we all just took in teen beach.

hail brady.

It's a book full of fun. It tells us that girls can do what boys can and even better. At last, Mac tells her aunt that people should follow their heart, and make their dream come true. Hope she can live a happy life ever after.

This movie was pathetic. This book (which I read on a BET) is pathetic. Everything about this whole idea is pathetic.

This book was very close to the movie. I loved it even though there are some parts that weren't in the movie.

As an adult, I found this hokey and very predictable, but if I'd read it as a pre-teen, I'd have been hooked on every word.
