Meticulously researched by Buddy Thompson, this biography serves as an important piece of Kentucky's history. Anyone interested in history and living in the vicinity of Lexington should definitely get their hands on this one. So well researched is this book that you can actually retrace the paths of Belle Brezing's life. And you'll never look at some of Lexington's familiar landmarks the same way again...no one ever tells us that the Mary Todd Lincoln house also served as a whorehouse in the late 1800s!

You have to be thankful that someone took the time to meticulously research this story! What an interesting piece of history, whether you live/lived in Lexington or not. This gem of a book takes you through a life that is interesting enough to be documented and fun to review. Good photographs that otherwise wouldn't be seen as many of these buildings are long gone.

This book is now out of print, which is a shame. It was written by a Lexington man, about a Lexington Legend! It's such an interesting but sad story. Even if you are not interested in Belle (what's WRONG with you?) the history and old pictures of Lexington is really cool!
