On the World of Obsidian, wishes really do come true.

Ten years ago, a mysterious comet crashed into the planet, annihilating half of the population, and branding the rest with strange markings on their right arms, each mark symbolizing a wish granted to the bearer.

Aidan Serafino is one such survivor. Born of fire and vengeance, he quickly grows tired of the chaotic new world and searches for an escape. Finding the love and release he’s been looking for, he tries to make a home in the isolated village of Lowsunn. But he quickly realizes that if he has any chance of preserving his new life, he will have to combat enemies beyond his wildest nightmares, fight for the girl he can’t live without and above all, tame his dark and tortured heart.

While I have to admit this is not my typical genre of books, I decided to give it a go. I am glad I did. I enjoyed this fantasy book that takes on its own imagination. As you read through the book, the pages are filled with imagery that really comes to life.

I appreciated the character of Aidan and the difficult choice he has to make. I certainly understand that he was in a tough place and having to chose would not be easy.

Thanks for the publisher for the chance to read this book. I enjoyed it.

I took a while to get into the story of the book. Certain chapters are unnecessarily lengthy. However, it was a minor issue and it was a great read all in all. All the main characters are coming out of Lowsunn, so hey, I am ready for the next book in the series!
