was hoping this would be a good cowboy romance purely based on the cover but the main characters were a journalist (boring) and a macho LA cop (acab) so it flopped :/
one thing I couldn't get over was the "nerd" slander for literally no reason.... the main dude's disguise was literally just glasses, slicked back hair, and acting like a babbling buffoon and the female protagonist was so disgusted hahahaha. very clark kent/superman coded

A pretty young (local) newspaper reporter (Julie) with big time ambitions meets an injured undercover cop, Max (masquerading as a nerdy insurance agent). She is coerced by her boss to show Max (the bosses nephew) the ropes . Max is actually there to investigate local horse rustling while also healing from being shot on the job back in LA. A quick funny read.
