Despite his warning, I ended up kind of skipping over the beginning of this book to get to the "meat" of it. The "reprogramming the brain" aspect at the start put me off in a big way. I already did this years ago to work with my dyslexia and ADHD and have no desire to go doing anything of the sort again. I like the way my brain works already, thank you very much. Also, a lot of the start information proved irrelevant to me and I found it kind of eye-glazing. This aside, the book has a lot of useful information and I hope to make use of some the technique for my own writing and plotting.

Lots of solid advice on how to write a novel. He talks about writing from the subconscious and how readers read your work. This is a pretty quick read and it has lots of good advice. I'll use is as a reference as I write.

If ever a book had a misleading title… There was nothing easy about it! Most of it is a comprehensive manual on the psychology of being a writer. The brief writing element is a thirty-day plan and there’s nothing at all about selling, other than the usual advice on a traditional pitch to an agent. However the author clearly knows his stuff and I’m sure some of the advice will have sunk in. But my goodness it was long!

Not bad. Highly interesting and very persuasive. There is lots to learn about writing short stories for publication but could also be used for novel writing as well. Nicely done!
