Its insane, I'll be sitting down and playing with my son or watching tv or even studying and BAM! an idea for a story pops into my head and I go "Ok...Let's see where this leads" and I head off and see where the story goes, sometimes it goes somewhere, sometimes it doesn't, but that's life for you.

Drama, drama, drama. And more drama.

Drama #1 Girl has a guy best friend who is overly protective of her. He’s like a father, an older brother and a boyfriend rolled into one. He cockblocked anyone who attempt to court her (or even just to know her). And when I say everyone, I mean every freaking one. Including his brothers (note: yes, I know that is plural. All three of them fell in love with her).

Drama #2 Older brother liked her, too. But best friend who is also his brother told her about his exploits with the ladies, leaving him deflated and no chance. Too bad. But unlike the youngest…

Drama #3 The youngest was brave enough to ask permission. Guess what? He was punched and threatened to stay away from her. But here’s the thing: he is the one.

It’s so frustrating but at the same time I enjoyed the misery of the characters. I know, how awful of me LOL. I really find the debacle between them interesting. So I guess I did like it!

3.5/5

Oh my goodness, what a read! I could not put it down.

Cole is...Cole is... Gosh Cole was it from the beginning the fact that he started and ended with the same respect for his brother Brandon really touched me. No doubt in my mind, he truly loved Erin beginning to end though hoops, obstacles, and everything in between.

Erin at times drove me crazy but I can understand her loyalty to Brandon and although she tripped along the way she made it t where she belonged while maintaining her strong bond with Brandon. He was her best friend and she sacrificed a lot for him but in the end she found her way.

This was terrible. The writing was poorly fleshed out with unimaginative, two dimensional characters and the story was ridiculous.

This book was not good at all. As well as switching back and forth between tenses, there were also spelling errors. I couldn't believe how over-bearing and babyish the guys in this book were. Did Erin have a golden pu$$y or something? She was the weakest, most obnoxious rag doll of a character I've read about in a long time...and this is coming from someone who loves a book with an a$$hole alpha and a woman who needs to be rescued. This just took that to the extreme.
I mean, they physically carried her around, and she was always hurt, or distressed and crying, and no matter how stupid she acted, all the males in her life blamed the other males in her life for her stupidity instead of blaming her. Super annoying and unbelievable. I ended up skimming through the majority of it, because it was just SO unbelievable, and the characters were all annoying.
Sorry...this was just not my type of book.

I loved this book. It's a love story that is full of heart ache and happiness.

Erin, a girl who has made a life for herself, she came from nothing and one night she met Brandon. Brandon loves Erin but doesn't think anyone is good enough for her, not himself, not his older brother Cole and definitely not Jake, a work colleague of Erin's.

Erin graduates from college and starts to live life as a graduate, looking for work and falling in love. She has loved Cole since she can remember but is scared that she will loose Brandon and the family that she has gained. Cole tells her that he loves her, Brandon does everything in his power to not let Erin and Cole be together.

‘An ambulance is on its way’ a girl standing on the outer crowd announced. I pocketed my phone back up and looked to see where Brandon was. I didn’t want him near Erin right now. He may protect her from the assholes but I protect her from Brandon when he stuffs up. I saw him walking through the crowd.

‘Give it a few minutes, and then go get her’

It was the longest few minutes of my life. The ambulance arrived and I took off running after Erin. I saw her in the park, on the swings, I continued to run until I had her in my arms and when I did I held onto her with everything I had.

I love that scene, Cole and Erin make the perfect couple

‘Yeah, he doesn’t let me date know, I mean, every time I think that I’m into someone or that someone’s into me, he scares them off. At the rate he’s going you’re going to be the only one left that I can date’

I laugh out, Brandon is horrible when we go out, he always knows when someone is talking to me and then he comes up and scares them away.

‘You make it sound like you’ll only date me if we were the last two people left on Earth’

‘That’s not what I meant’ I feel bad for letting him think that way.

‘Dating me wouldn’t be that bad Erin, I would treat you good’

‘You treat me good now, there’s no disputing that, but you don’t date’

‘I would date you’ it only came out as a whisper, but I heard it loud and clear,
‘I would cherish the ground you walk on’

OMG!!!

‘You shouldn’t have to sneak out to see me Erin. I thought that we were over all of this. That we were going to be together openly for everyone to see, including Brandon’

‘We are’

‘No we’re not!’

‘What do you want me to do! Brandon needs me right now!’

‘I need you!’

‘You have me!’

‘No I don’t, Brandon has you and I’m, as usual second choice!’

Like I said, I love love love this book!

Hmm... For such a quick read this book delivers a plethora of emotions that definitely tugs into your heartstrings, we have friendship, family, love and ultimately growth and maturity, with all the 'unnecessary' (or perhaps necessary) dramas in between. The story starts with little background information, Cole has been and will always love Erin, even when .

I do but I dont (make sense?) get the the relationship between Brandon and Erin, its alpha male central where his coming from; he is her rock, her bestfriend, her brother and even you may think a secret lover? who possibly harbours more than platonic feelings towards her, but sleeps around on her anyways? He's a cockblocker and I didn't like him at all, but despite that I fell sorry for him near the end. You reap what you sow (literally) I guess.

Boys will be boys and I get that, I have granted the concessions towards this two male 'protagonists' and I get that they have an itch to scratch and compartmentalising is and has always been a male trait in New Adult novels. Back to our female, Erin, she was likeable and she even started to grow on me until she did THAT. I get that you and the love of your life may be coming together as one, but honey your still in a relationship, her one liners towards Anita and Beth where fun and entertaining to read; she sees her two colleagues as loose women when actuality she is one herself too- talk about being a hypocrite. And dont even get me started with her playing that doormat role,. *sigh*

I really wanted to like the characters because Veronica Short had written a good piece of New Adult book thats got a new angle on from friends to lovers. But, I didn't connect with the characters and felt that the pacing was choppy at times.

Still a good read to pass the time though..

I received this novel from the Author, in exchange for an honest review.

This novel is a short (at 73 pages), fun, emotional rollercoaster, the characters are deep and relateable. The plot is fantastic and evolves naturally, as if it were a retelling of the authors life. There are a few spelling errors, but they are easily missed as the reader is being swept away on the never ending love-triangle between two brothers and the girl of their dreams.

This was a joy to read and I am thankful for having the opportunity to do so, this is a fun book, it lets you get lost in relateabley real characters who could easily be people you know in real life. A great read and everyone should give it a go, definitely one for romantic fiction, even lovers of YA will enjoy this novel. A fun, fast read!

Loved this! Erin is taken in by the brothers and their parents, and Cole is the brother in love with her. Well, actually, they kind of all are, or have been at some point. But Brandon is the brother that's extremely protective of Erin and keeps her from Cole. Lots of fighting. I love the back and forth banter between the brothers. I love how open their parents are. And of course, there's a happily ever after!

fastpaced and a lot rollercoaster plot.
some of them cliche and got my eyes rolling.
but whatever Ryan says was a quote material.

“Brandon gave Erin a family. Before she met him, she didn’t have anyone to care for her, or anyone to care about. She probably thinks that she owes him everything, and that she would lose the only family that she has ever had if she leaves him."

Hmm....i'm a little sad because the first page of this book was good and i thought that the rest of it would be the same.Well it's not.
I don't understand the heroine's way of thinking and all this obsession thing from the brothers.....which it's not obsession exacly,it's control...
Anyway...2 stars for this book and i'm really unhappy cause it's the first time i give only 2.
