The h did a series of truly terrible things to him, but by dint of sheer sneering jerkdom, the H became the bad guy. In case you haven't figured out from the description, I'll hide this next part
After reading the first two books in this series, I really hoped that Married to a Stanger would give us a groom who was less grumpy and disagreeable. Unfortunately, it was only in the closing chapter of this book that Brand seemed to soften and become somewhat conciliatory. Isabella, on the other hand, a teen used to getting her own way, engineers a marriage to the mourning Brand but soon realises that although she has got the groom she wanted, marriage to him is no feast. When she receives the final insult, she quietly packs her bags and leaves in the dead of night, not realising that she is taking more from the marriage than she originally thought. Years later, Isabella receives a request to cater for a function being hosted by Brand, and when the two meet again, the sparks fly but they aren't the friendly type. The romance in this book was difficult to relate to and the characters less so. The grammar and flow of language was good and while the plot was interesting, the story didn't really pan out the way in which one would hope. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I did not enjoy this book. Both protagonists were annoying, the hero more so than the heroine. I kept going hoping that things would improve, but there was nothing that made me warm up to the main characters. Only Mairead, Brand's mother, brought some colour and life into the story for me. Sadly, it wasn't enough.
