If This Is Normal, I Don't Want To See Crazy

Rate this book
Whoever said life was normal had no idea what my household is like. So much for the ho-hum life one would expect to have. Instead, life here is one big roller coaster ride. And I don't like roller coasters. They're full of ups and downs, twists and turns, unexpected changes in direction. Yeah, that sounds like life here.

On any given day, you'll find Chaos. No matter what we do or where we go, it follows us. I'll introduce you to my cousin, Murphy. He's really good at showing up and giving us a run for our money. He visits my friends. He visits my work. And when he's here, life has drama, intrigue and hilarity.

Welcome to my world. Let me share with you some of the misadventures I've had over the years. I'm sure you've had some, too. But really, who would believe an electric oven can actually have flames. I've washed my phone's 'mouth' out with soap because I didn't like what it was saying. I've glued cotton candy to my fingers. I've made bullet proof food. All I have to say is, "If this is normal, I don't want to see crazy."

I thought that her stories were cute even though they seem to jump around a bit in time sequence. For someone who claims to be such a stickler on the English language, however, I was disconcerted to see her use of "loose" when she meant "lose". This happened several times. There were several other cases of incorrect grammar that had me wondering if she had an editor or someone proofread it thoroughly. Too many are relying on spell check to take care of their grammar also.
The chapters themselves were very true to life and presented the very real, hectic life for a farm wife and mother.

This book was offered for free and I am glad I took it. The book is fast reading because it is full of short stories, some only 2 or 3 pages long. All are family stories of one kind or another. Some stories were quite funny. Overall, a good book.

I really enjoyed this book. Found it as a " freebie" for kindle. It was fun to read and I could relate to many of her mishaps . The ending was dull but all around a fun read.

Most of these essays were not funny, even though they were intended to be. I think I laughed and/or related to the essays a few times, but all in all this book missed the mark.

Easy enough book to reach and it did make me smile at times. I was expecting a story. This book it just little chapters of things that have happened in her life. Granted some of them very funny.
