Know your history, because the story you think you're telling is never the one that's being told. 13 bold stories of dream factories afraid of the dark, of charlatans, inquisitors, barbarian Smurfs, the reincarnation of lazy Americans, British devil babies, the power of loneliness, of the usefulness of boy bands to time travelers, and more... Historical Inaccuracies. Pop quiz: Are you sure?
Zig Zag Claybourne (also known as C.E. Young) wishes he’d grown up with the powers of either Gary Mitchell or Charlie X but without the Kirk confrontations. (Anybody not getting that Star Trek reference gets their sci fi cred docked 3 points.)
By turns terrifying, hilarious, heartbreaking and confusing, the stories in this slender but potent offering will put you in the company of an entertaining, wise and silly presence that is trying to tell you something you may not be ready to hear. Strong medicine for what ails us.
This is a really fantastic and eclectic collection of stories. They run the gamut from funny and whimsical to dark and poignant, and any combination thereof, with a healthy dose of weird for good measure. Every one is vivid and engaging and powerfully written. Truly enjoyable. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Vivid tales from this well-spoken author. The stories read like lucid dreams that grab and engage the reader with imagery and plot that stick long after the book is finished. Impressive collection and well worth the read.
One of the best anthologies I've ever read. Historical Inaccuracies runs the gamut from the hilarious to the heart-wrenching, and keeps the reader engaged long after the final page is turned.
