...Can Be Gold: Simone Part 4

Rate this book
The Simone of old no longer exists. She has transmogrified into a woman with whom she can’t reconcile but who she must eventually come to accept. This new Mona is stronger, sexier and with an innate power that she’s only just beginning to understand.

For Zane, she has put her very soul on the line. She has dragged herself to the outer limits of her principles and has entered uncharted territory. All for the man who helped form this new creature that calls herself Simone Barranquet.

But was it worth it? Is he worthy of her sacrifice?

And what of Jake? Is he manipulating her or does he really share the same aspirations? When two enemies unite and become allies, the man at the center of the battle is key.

But will Zane concur? Is he strong enough to accept them both, to have what he’s never known he’s always wanted?

People are saying, that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...
But what do you say, when you are so overwhelmed by emotions, so excited to have found a true gem among an ocean of sometimes mediocre reads, that you feel that words will fail you, regardless of what you are saying?

Right now, this story for me has come to its natural end and I am so, so sad about this, I could cry...
Don't get me wrong! It ends beautifully, but I have to part ways with characters which grew on me...

What are the right words to entice other readers into taking a leap of faith and giving this book a try?
I am struggling here...
I don't want to give anything away and spoil the story for future readers, but I would like to see the number of reviews here multiply and being more than a handful...

People, this book is soooooooo worth it!
I did not expect to fall so hard for this story, but I did!
Steamy, raunchy, swoon-worthy.... The author did not only promised it, but delivered!!! And although series are not my format of choice, I am glad that with this read, I obviously picked up the right one for me.
Every installment was a treasure in itself. The longer I read the more addicted to it I became....soaking up every word of the story.
I was introduced to situations I never have come across in real life; and what normally would make me feel uncomfortable, had me envy the female protagonist by the end!
Mona, you lucky bitch!!! I love you!
And envy is a feeling I only can develop for people I care for...

So to sum it up...and before I really start crying:
Put this series on your TBR shelf ASAP!!!
If not, you are seriously missing out on something spectacular...just saying ;-))

Such an enjoyable read, I've really loved all these Naughty Nookie reads. A menage a trois that will leave you panting, melt your panties right off ( I wouldn't bother wearing any ) Likeable characters, great story. Its not hard to guess where it all leads, the enjoyment is in reading the attraction between them all 'over and over' ;-)

A little bit turbulent and melodramatic in places, but this is a series well worth a read. Brilliant. I recommend.

Another great installment in the series. Brilliantly written and descriptive as always.
It had me hooked from beginning to end and as well as some really hot scenes it had me laughing in places, and crying in others. A bit of an emotional ride near the end which was a shock so keep a tissue close...
I'm looking forward to reading more from this author

There’s a special kind of mind fuck you can only experience when you have a one night stand, fall for the guy, find out he’s gay and married, have him chase after you, lose all your belongings in a fire, take refuge with him, become his mistress, enjoy his over-wealthy lifestyle, see your face in the magazines, come face to face with the betrayed husband, go to France with him, solve crimes with him, be bathed in gifts by him, and then have the best fucking sex with him. Your lover’s husband. Who is gay. While your lover is an ocean away, searching for his SO.

It gets even more interesting when you wake up one morning with his hand wrapped around your waist, and your lover is sitting at the foot of the bed, watching his two lovers enjoying themselves. Without him. Was that betrayal or jealousy glimmering in Zane’s eyes? Is this threesome ever going to work? Reluctantly, all participants agree and move back into their house in Maine. But if the world is unaccepting of a gay couple, it is even less supportive of a ménage à trois. Especially one where the husband and husband avoid each other.

I could go on and say more about the plot of this book. But I won’t, even though I am itching to write about the Mansion of All Mansions in New Orleans, about the sourness of sisterly love, about the defiance in the face of Matthews Senior, the confusion in the heads and hearts of our heroes, and Henry… No. All of that, you get to discover for yourselves as I did. And thoroughly enjoy them, again as I did.

Oh, and the sex. The absolutely breath-taking, raw and writhing, down and dirty sex. Threesome sex. Manly love sex. Double penetration sex. Male on Male on Female sex. Stretch me wide and fuck me sex. Give me more and don’t stop until my knees are weak and I can’t remember my own name sex. Passionate, pure, and desperate. Sweet, deep and cathartic. All the good qualities of a great one night stand. Because let’s not forget, that’s how it all started.

There were some points that had me rolling my eyes, during Caroline’s visit for example, when Mona’s ABSOLUTELY INEXPLICABLE PRIDE got the best of her and had her acting like a prima donna. Thankfully it was remedied fast, and kudos to the author for not dragging out the drama scene. I wasn't even put off by the endless internal monologue that annoyingly cut in-between the scenes – only in this final act did I come to accept them, maybe even appreciate them.

All in all, I enjoyed spending time in Mona’s world. The characters had a great chemistry together, yet each adding their individual note, like flavors complimenting each other. The writing was light and easy to follow, enjoyable and original. The first person narrative helped instead of hindered (though as always, I could have done with a little less of it) and I not once felt like any thought or reaction was in any way forced or purposely positioned to serve the story. I read the book in a heartbeat, and only wished I could have a bit more.

Nicely done, Miss Akeroyd.

Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the last story featuring Mona, Zane and Jake and I must say that this is the book that is packed with emotions. We've seen Mona grow from someone who felt like she was invisible and a wallflower into a woman who is confident, full of self-esteem and comfortable enough with sex that she wants to be the middle of a Zane & Jake sandwich (and who could blame her lol). We only learn a little bit about Jake's family, and we finally learn what happened to Mona's family, but the main family component in this story is Zane's family, and how nuts and dysfunctional they all are. I thought it was refreshing that Mona wasn't intimidated by any of Zane's family (especially the sister Caroline), and how she basically told Zane's father to suck it.

I was also glad to read that Mona reached out to her friend Edwina (Marina wasn't featured in this book at all), although I can't wait to read Edwina's story after the bombshell she dropped on Mona. Unfortunately for Mona, she got to experience first hand the discrimination that occurs when you live a different lifestyle that some people just don't want to accept, but at least the three of them were able to relocate. The whole incident at the end with Henry was over the top (in regards to what he did); thank goodness Zane and Jake made it back in time.

This is a series that I can't recommend enough, well done to Serena on a fantastic story and I'm eagerly looking forward to reading both Marina's and Edwina's stories!

I was asked to read this series by Serena to see what I thought, and WOW you have to read them, please check out my full 5 star review here

OMG is all I can say for book 4, is I want so much more, so much MORE.

It lived up to my expectations as it was amazing, it was beautiful, it was spectacular, it was a true ride, and I could read many more books about the 3 of them, so is so much more they could accomplish.

I think I'll write my own book about them, as I want them to continue lol.

WARNING

Don't start it late at night, cause you won't sleep, that is my only warning.

Yes this comes with a warning

''DO NOT START BEFORE BED''

Another hot damn book by Serena Akeroyd and I totally thought that the last 3 pages summed up Mona to a tee, and it was such a beautiful explanation that she wrote (well you wrote) for her Gods that I had tears in my eyes as I was reading it.

Although as you know lol I had envisaged so much more happening in their lives, and it will be exciting to revisit them in a later stage maybe.

Nothing is going to compare to these book for me for a long long time

I sort of knew where the book was heading, and even though my suspicions were correct, I was still pleasantly shocked.
Wow. Mona is one lucky girl! Corr.
It was a great end to the four part story and even though the wait in between was torturous, it was worth it. I'm glad it ended the way it did, although I could have done with a bit more on the end. Would have loved to know what happens after that final chapter. Maybe that's in store for the future? Hint, hint!!!! Hope so!
The sex was bloody hot. And the scenes were incredible. I thought I might be a bit offput by what was going on, but instead, I think I'm going to look for more books like this! By the end, I'd have liked more! Being greedy, I can only hope Serena doesn't let this story end here. I want to know more!
And at the end, with Marina's snippet there, wow. I can't wait!!
Definitely 4.5 stars but you can't do that here, so I'll go to 5. Only knocking the 0.5 off because I'm greedy :D And let me just say, what a load of bast~#'s Zane's family were. God! Loved it.

Can be Gold, is the last book for Mona, Zane and Jake.

This is where they find the peace they deserve. So what if its unconventional?! As long as they're happy and they understand each other, everything else doesnt matter.

This is one of the rare form of love but they're lucky they found each other.

Thanks Serena for sharing this with us!
Honored to be one of your readers!

This is the fourth and final installment in the Naughty Nookie: Simone series of novellas, which I have read and reviewed all of: 'Fall Into Love,' 'Crazy Little Thing Called Lust,' and 'All That Glitters…'

I’ve enjoyed all of this story’s predecessors and I enjoyed this one as well. I love stories and particularly love stories that are not like every other love story out there, diverging in ways that are truly different. Akeroyd has done that well here. In this series, she shows that Love, Lust and Life are complicated things that will not be bound by convention or the impositions of society. These four parts of Simone’s story are testament to that, and that’s what I’ve liked about them.

Love should never be narrowly construed.

Happily, Mona (Simone) didn’t annoy me as she did in the first couple. She has come to accept that she’s not like everyone else and not meant to live her life like them, and I like that about her now. Although I did want to shake her (all of them, really) when they were struggling about the unconventional nature of what they want, at the “it’s just not done,” and say: Get thee to the internet! One Google search would’ve cleared that up right fast.

Mona’s narrative voice continues to be engaging, and there was a lot of awkwardness and uncertainty woven through out, which was realistic and thus I liked it. And the sex scenes were all pretty good, too.

The one thing I’m still not sure on is the last two chapters. Do those sorts of attitudes exist? Yes. Do those sorts of things happen? Yes. Was the abruptness of it realistic? Yes. But to have it happen and then kind of be skipped over in two short chapters didn’t set well with me, though I can’t say I thought it totally “wrong” for the story. So my jury is still out on that.

Otherwise, however, I liked this concluding chapter as much as the three before it. For anyone with an open mind and an enjoyment for love stories that are truly different, and yet not at all because love is always love, then I’d recommend it. 4 Fireballs.

As book for and what seems the last in the series I really did enjoy every minute of it. Mona has changed so much from book one. Zane, Jake, and Mona have all grown and morphed into a loving functional couple. I enjoyed getting to be a little more involved in Zane and his family this time around and OMG WHAT HORRID PEOPLE! I hated them from the first second! I was so happy when Mona stood up to those sharks that call them self human beings! Jake, Zane, and Mona's love just seems to grow and flourish in this one. Still had just as many twists as the others all keeping you on the edge of your seat!
DO NOT START THESE BOOKS AT NIGHT!
I started book 1 at like 9pm on New Years eve figured hey why not start a new book. I then sat there tell 3 am and just couldn't stop my self ending up with a dead ipad and having to go to sleep just to wake up the next morning and finish it off because I couldn't stand to wait any longer to figure out what happened!

I must say I am sad to see it end I wish there were more and the story could go on. Maybe something in the future and how there life is after all the drama but hey that's just me HINT HINT HINT Serena Akeroyd lol.
All in all a great series and one I really enjoyed. Cant wait to see what else she comes up with!

The fourth and final book in the Naughty Nookie Series. Can I say wow and then cry because it is ending. Mona is so in love with Zane and feels strongly about Jake and she wants a relationship to work between the three of them. Here all the problems between them all get wrapped up and a lot of talking is going on between them. Slowly but it is all coming out. Along with some hot and heavy sex scenes that explode off the pages. I don't want to give anything away. I do want to say that this is a fantastic ending to the series and I fell in love with the three of them.

The were raunchy in a way but so well written you can feel yourself fantasying yourself in that situation. Even though this book still has a lot of twists and problems to work through it is done in a believable way that you find yourself thinking I could so get on board with that.

I am sad to say goodbye to Mona, Zane and Jake, it has been a wonderful ride. Serena has a great way of writing erotica and making it so much more.

If you love erotica this series is a must read. You don't want to pass it up.

...Can Be Gold is the golden climax to the four book series of Mona's adventures. I really do think that all four books could have been rolled into a single volume, but that is a subject for further readers' discussion.

This book contains the real story. It gets much deeper. All of the implications of the three-way relationship between Mona, Zane and Jake come home to roost. They are forced to make changes, but it all comes good in the end, I promise you.

The sex scenes are absolutely brilliantly described. Either Serena Akeroyd's creativity and imagination is exceptional and beyond the bounds of most of us, or she has been lucky enough to have experienced some of the most amazing sex ever!

In conclusion, the story is good, the sex is good, and this series is a jolly good read.

The first three books lead up to this Awesome climax of book #four in the Naughty Nookie Series. This one titled " Can Be Gold" because it's the golden ending to this series. In this book the now threesome find out what society in general think about their relationship. This one is where they come together and try living as one under the same roof in a small town that has excepted Zane & Jake as a couple, but will they feel the same after Mona moves in? Society today accepts more than in the past, but is a threesome to much? The sexual exploits in this book are steaming HOT! Get your mind ready because this book makes your nerve endings buzz. You don't need to read all three before this if your just reading for sexual pleasure. If you want a story to go with it, read all the books in order. Bye!

** I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
I wasn't sure if this story could top the previous 3 in this series, yet it did. The emotional roller coaster that this series has taken me on ends with a smile. It is definitely a book that surpassed the norm. The characters are great. The story itself is a tale of putting love to the test. I love the writing style. The erotic side to this book is written well. It is filled with humor, emotional angst, hot and steamy sex and a bit of drama. I recommend this series!

This series is HOT! Everything about this series is so original. I loved that the names, relationships, circumstances, and the writing was so different. I had chills the whole time I was reading, just waiting to see what was coming next! The characters grip you and take you for one hell of a ride. Serena Akeroyd is now one of my most recommended authors, and the Naughty Nookie Series is a fantastic, edge of your seat, love triangle, author, detective, cleaning lady, naughty novella! Must read for 2014!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

In the last part of this series you follow Jake, Zane, and Mona as they try to decide is they can live together. You see all three of these characters develop in their life in this series. Mona has become a strong sexy women who accepts herself as she is and that she really loves two men. She stands up to Zane's family. This is a fantastic ending to a great series. This series was so much more than erotica. It is about three people who come together physically and emotionally.

Wow Oh my good I just can't believe that I could fall hard for a series but I did. This series is one that will have you going all the way to the end and I would encourage you to get all of the books at once so that you are not missing a moment. This book in itself did not disappoint because it was more than just sex, which it was greatly described, but brought me into the characters life without leaving me bored. I will read again for this author.

I really enjoyed this series

To me, this was a romance... but with VERY steamy sex. Realistic? Well, not like anyone I've ever known. Still, like I said before, I really enjoyed it. The ending was what I hoped for, but with a few plot twists thrown in to keep it interesting. If you enjoy a twisted, romantic, SEXY read, then this might be your cup of tea. It was mine.
