In August, 1914, war broke out across Europe. Soon, the fighting had spread from muddy trenches in northern France to the jungles of East Africa. With vivid illustrations and flaps to lift, this book takes you into the battlefields of the First World War.

As much as this is a children's book, the illustrations give a comprehensive account of the main happenings in the First World War. Definitely gives students an opportunity to think about the History of the First World War.

After four years I still give this book five shining stars. It's extremely informative and it explains that WW1 was hell on earth without sugarcoating it. I also like the fact that it mentions the war in other places, beside France and Germany.

I bought See Inside the Second World War, as well. Let's hope it's as good as this one.

Excellent book for kids who wants to take their first look into the horror that was WW1. Very detailed.

Of course, flaps are a bit tricky for younger readers.
