Double Trouble

Rate this book
While on an archeological dig in Greece, Fiona McCarty finds a broken vessel depicting two attractive men performing a blatantly erotic act with a woman. The night Fiona sets in the final piece back together, she awakens to find two identically gorgeous men on either side of her bed. They are Castor and Pollux, the Gemini, trapped in the broken vessel for thousands of years by an evil demigoddess. By freeing them, Fiona earns their undying devotion.

Fiona has her hands full trying to keep the fun-loving demigods out of trouble, and also trying to stave off the wild sexual attraction she forms-for both of them. Cas, the more serious and quiet, begins to teach her about slow sensuality. Pol, more outrageous and daring, teaches her erotic games she'd never known existed. Then Cas reveals he doesn't mind sharing-or watching-her with Pol, and Fiona revels in her newfound sexuality. But when the evil demigoddess returns for revenge, Fiona has to discover a way to keep the loves of her life free forever.

Yumm, yumm...can I have my own set of twins? I am a Gemini after all.

Junior archaeologist Fiona enjoys working in Greece. She's especially happy now that she's finally found the last piece to 'her' vase. The other members of the team keep teasing her about her 'sex vase', but even they must admit that the vase depicting a pair of incredibly ripped and sexy twins 'doing' one woman is a beautiful piece of pottery. Her completion of the vase trips the spell that frees the legendary twins Castor and Pollux. The twins prove to be VERY VERY VERY grateful!!!!

Mildly cute - the sex overwhelms the plot. Allyson James writes wonderful books. For me at least, this wasn't one of them - not enough action. Try her Dragon, Mortal or Shareem series - great characters, intense plotting, sex scenes that will steam the wallpaper off the walls...

As for the story it is a very simple plot based on some Greek mythology to bring Cas & Pol (the Gemini twins)out of their cursed jar. I have read many books that involve some type of entrapment or magic in an artifact, many of the highlander books available as well as Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon. most of the highlander books (that I have read) and especially Fantasy Lover were able to use the cursed/magic artifact set up and still manage to create a believable story that pulled me into it's world.

Double Trouble was not able to hold my attention at any point during the book with the exception of the sex scenes. Magic touting Demi-Gods they may be, but even so, I cannot see how they were able to form such a deep love with Fiona in such a limited time (2 days or so?) Pol seemed more like a 3rd during most parts of the book; where's the love come from? At least with Cas it seems there was some type of deeper connection. The link is reinforced by the 'I feel you feeling me' thing. All in all it's not enough imho to support the depth needed for this plot but a deeper connection none the less.

While I appreciate the author's attempt at sarcasm and humor (having the half-demon bitch villain walk into an adult store and walk out leather clad with a whip was entertaining) again, it was not consistent enough to be convincing. Furthermore, the fact that they come out of their hibernation-like state using perfect English with slang was a bit hard to fathom. The characters overall seemed a bit inconsistent.

This was a delightful fantasy into mythology and menage, with a nasty demon/witch thrown in. I love Allyson/Jennifer Ashleys stories and she NEVER disappoints. Now we know what happened to Casper and Pollux over the millennia *winky smile*

I saw "Planetary" thought sci-fi, it's more astrological. I'm taking a break at page 12.
