Scholarly study of San Andres, a bi-ethnic community in Guatemala where Cakchiquel Indians have been dominated by non-Indians since the Spanish conquest. Includes analysis of how the Indians cope with their relative powerlessness through moral and political action. Illustrated with photographs. Tan cloth, 209 pages, printed dustjacket. The book has little wear but somewhat soiled covers, good hinges, sound binding, clean pages with no names but a light to moderate amount of highlighting, one small section underlined. The mylar protected dustjacket is quite edgeworn and scuffed but has no significant chips or tears, just heavy edgewear. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
